Congrats & Welcome to the next phase! :D Everyone gets nervous so just be mindful of all the new healthy habits that you've retrained yourself to learn and practice them daily. Maintaining is a lot more mental work than anything else because it is for the long run. Best of luck to you! P.S. Love your ink!

If at all possible, go online to look at their menu. Pre-decide what you will and will not have. Then plan the rest of your eating day around that if you know that meal out will be heavier in calories than usual. Key to eating out while staying on track is PLANNING ahead. Good luck!

Crunches have been proven to not be all that impactful Planks are much more effective. Also you may want to YouTube pallof press if you gym. Good luck!

The 2000 calorie bit is somewhat of an urban legend. There was an article about it not too long ago on how it came to be. It was a rather long & complicated calculation of a accumulation of stats & #s based on the average person. SO if one does not conform to that 'average' person's height, weight, & build then the 2000…

Do your best to estimate individual components if you just can't find anything close in the MFP database. Also, as someone has already mentioned, Google can almost always have something close enough. It doesn't have to be 100% precise in order to give you a fairly good idea of what & how much you're consuming. Good luck!

First of all CONGRATS! That's really awesome! I will pass on what my nutrionist/pt recommended when I hit my plateau ... rev up the intensity of the cardio. She described intensity as 'if you can leisurely read a book or carry on a full conversation you're not working hard enough.' Within the week the scale moved without a…

This is a personal preference - there is no right or wrong so just pick one that suits your lifestyle. Whenever, whichever, wherever, just make sure the conditions are the same & be consistent. For me, I always weigh at Home When I was losing - religiously Every Sunday a.m. right after I get up before going to the gym Now…

Hello & Welcome to MFP! What I have found that worked for me to feel satisfied for longer periods of time was to eat a lot of lean proteins (chicken, turkey) and high fiber veggies (broccoli, spinach). In regards to the carb cravings, medications especially those for depression focuses on the part of the brain that…

Hello & Welcome to MFP! Sometimes looking back I think the closer to goal the more challenging it got. If you have hit a true plateau, try reducing the duration but upping the intensity of your cardio. That did the trick for me. Best of luck to you!

Nope. Not at all. It has become a seamless part of my healthy habit & I embrace my new lease on life! Maintaining 2 yrs this Aug! Plus being angry seem such a waste of my energies. I much rather invest my energies positively on what new healthy dupes I can find for my favorites. Good luck!

Hello & Welcome to MFP! I did not see any mention of exercise. If you are eating properly (within allotted calories. eating complex carbs, lean protein, veggies & fruits) and you are still not seeing any results, you may need to incorporate some exercise into your routine to bust through the plateau. At some point, I find…

Hello & Welcome to MFP. This is the maintaining forums for those who have already reached goal. You may want to repost in the GETTING STARTED or INTRO sections to solicit more peers at the same stage you are. Best of luck to you!

First of all CONGRATS!! Maintaining can be a little tricky. Don't be afraid to experiment to see what works for you. Most will say increase calories slowly until you stop losing. In my personal experience since I'm 'fun size' (4'10") I made very minimum adjustments because I was not struggling with what I was doing and…

hehe great problem to have! Gratz!

+1 I am eating a variation of the 80/20 method (90/10 for me) and regular indulgence is built in because it is simply humanly impossible to eat on target 100% of the time. I have been able to maintain w/relative ease going on 2 yrs now. Having said that when I 'indulge' I portion out ONE serving of whatever it is. I NEVER…

Since OP is positing this in maintaining I can only assume OP is. Periodic indulgence will not make a difference on the grand scheme of things imo. Short answer: If your weekly total calories allowance is 10,000 and even with the weekend indulgence for the week you are within the 10,000 then theoretically there should be…

Try adding some LEAN proteins (chicken, turkey) and high fiber vegetables (broccoli, Brussels sprouts) which will help you feel satisfied longer. Also raspberries, pear & apple with skin are some high fiber fruits. Make sure your carbs are whole wheat or whole grains. And what MFP recommends daily caloric intake can be a…
