Hello & Welcome to MFP! It's REALLY difficult to stay on track if the people in your life is not aware of your struggles & support you. I've had to ask the hubs to stop buying pizza 2-3 times a week because it is my personal kryptonite. So start by having a discussion with your loved ones not to bring home nutritious poor…

Hello & Welcome to MFP! Weight loss is about 80% what is consumed much more than exercises. Exercise helps with heart health, regulate glucose, & build muscles. So if exercises is a bit out of reach at the moment, you are not ill-fated to be overweight. Be consistent in logging your food and review your entries. Pick one…

It's just another behavior (habit) that you can certainly be proactive to change. I had gotten into the habit of having chocolate with my evening cup of tea after dinner for YEARS. When there wasn't chocolate I ate chips. When there wasn't chips I had a cookies. It just became an odd habit & when I didn't have a snack I…

+1 Also, one of the simplest strategies to curb binging is not to have your go-to binge nutrition poor foods in the house or within arm's reach. Limiting access often times is enough of a deterrent to at least minimize the amount of binging. Good luck!

+1 But if you ever hit a REAL plateau (min of few WEEKS) try revving up the intensity of cardio. I was stuck at 110 for almost 2 mos then a nutritionist / pt friend suggested reducing cardio duration but rev up intensity. Within the week I FINALLY broke through. Good luck.

PFFFT what a bunch of bunk inho! Unless one has a thyroid problem or other genetics which inhibits weight loss, I don't buy what this article is selling at all. As with any research for every one that proves point A there are two more to prove the exact opposite. That is the nature of studies & research. Nice to know but I…

Congrats indeed! But this is the maintaining forum for those who have already reached goal. Please continue to share your successes with others who are still working towards their goals.

You don't look old. Maybe try 15-20 minute on a treadmill at a slight incline. Increase the incline once you're back into the swing of things. Moderate strength training - YouTube has TONS of strength training ideas. You can literally have a brand new workout every day is you so choose. Just depends what your personal…

For the average gym goer or regular exerciser the answer to OP is no. If you are an avid body builder or competing (body definition) then yes eat every ounce back.

That's great that you recognize that & is mindful so a big congrats on that. :) But this is the maintaining forums for people who have already reach goal. If you are still in the midst to your goal you may find more peer support in the GETTING STARTED or INTRO forums if you are looking for specific others still working…

Hello! Just make sure that you are complimenting the work you put in with the personal trainer by minding what you consume. With two little ones, I'm sure your time is limited like many and most are just unable to 'out-gym' nutritious poor eating. Best of luck to you.

Google is your BFF. Do your own research and consciously & honestly assess what will work best for you. Don't be afraid to explore what will work for you and take note what doesn't. In my own experience, getting healthy (losing weight) is a series of trial & errors because we are all different requiring very different…

Hello Ty & Welcome to MFP! I've been maintaining for over a year now never missing a day. :) Good luck to you!

My suggestion is to first have a specific goal to strive for. BMI is not the end all be all but it definitely can be a good starting point. What I did was take the middle # in the BMI deemed healthy weight range for my height. nhlbi.nih.gov/health/educational/lose_wt/BMI/bmicalc.htm Then go here to calculate your BMR &…

Not silly question at all. I think 'ideal' weight will be different for everyone. I recently came across this article which I found addresses your question far more eloquently than I can. Finding our happy weight I think may or may not be the same as what a stagnate one-dimensional scale dictates as an ideal for all. As…
