  • I love, love, love Orange Theory!!! I feel so empowered after a workout.
  • I'm 42 and just coming off a hip surgery in March. Finding it hard enough to lose weight when all my parts are working the right way, but throw in bum hip (kinda need it to do most activities) and it's really tough. Could really use some support myself.
  • I'm looking for some motivation as well besides having some understanding people to hear me vent once in awhile. I'm 42, 5'1" and looking to lose about 25 lbs. Julie
  • I'm 41 and 5'1" SW: 152 CW: 147 GW: 125
  • I agree about not worrying when you mess up. I used to just give up when I had a bad day or two - now I just move on and get back on the wagon. Having support is key, so please add me (anyone) if you would like. Just knowing that other people are seeing what I'm doing is motivation and support.
  • Feel free to add me as well. Having support on here has been very helpful for me. Welcome to MFP!
  • I'm 41 and realizing just how cruel the 40s can be in terms of weight loss. It takes a lot more effort and determination and sometimes I have to dig really deep to find the drive to do what I need to do. Support is key...add me if you want - we can all do this together.
  • Ha...I agree. Big problem for me since my hubby (who of course is skinny) owns a Cold Stone Creamery. Doesn't help with my efforts here.
  • I am from the west side, but now live/work in Rochester Hills. Any and all please feel free to add.
  • I just started couch to 10k yesterday. I've always been an on again/off again runner and each time I get back into it I start to hard, get hurt (or burned out) and then quit again. I've done a couple 1/2 marathons, but couldn't actually run the whole thing - most of it though. I am really excited to try this. On off days I…
  • Go ahead and add - always looking for more to motivate me as well.
  • My fav is mango salsa: 2 mangoes diced finely 1 cucumber, peeled and seeded - diced finely 1/4 cup brown sugar some lime juice (to taste) some crushed red pepper (to taste) Julie
  • Guess he doesn't have any self-esteem issues :)
  • I like putting chicken in the crock pot in the morning (usually about 2-3 breasts). Later, it shreds so easily. We do many things with this - we make tacos, or we make bbq sandwiches or we put it on salads. Sometimes I will make a lower fat buffalo sauce and eat it with that. It is so easy and versatile!
  • I should clarify...most of the "sidewalks" around here are actually labeled "bike paths", so I do have a right to be on them. In regards to walkers on the path, I agree, you should not be mowed down which is why I slow down and announce my approach by shouting "on your left". I do not feel that if there are paths (or…
  • I am always happy to have more friends, but like you, I want the ones that are serious. Historically I have been the type that when the going gets tough I bail out of the game (quit logging, etc). However, I have told myself that no matter what I will stay on. I know I will have good days and bad days but will log…
  • Great job. It's amazing how small changes can make us feel so much better. Keep up the great work!

  • Met my hubby on line before on-line dating was really a thing. It was actually an AOL chat room. We have been married 14 years (together for almost 17).
  • Great job! You are better than I am...at the beginning of summer I just went and bough new shorts (a size bigger). Am looking forward to getting back into the smaller size by the end of August! Keep up the amazing work!

  • I joined a couple of weeks ago, but then went on vacation for a week. Needless to say, today is like starting over. Friend me if you'd like - the more support we all have, the more likely we are to succeed.
  • Quit weighing yourself so much. It's a hard temptation to not give in to-I know. I weigh myself once a week - usually Thursday and always in the morning before I shower.
  • I agree...losing 5 pounds can make a real difference. Unfortunately, I have more like 20 lbs to lose! My husband and son are skinny-minnies and my hubby owns an ice cream store. Needless to say, I don't get a whole lot of support from them and am looking for some here.
