I'm having the sleeve on Jan. 15 . Any advice? Thanks

Hi, I'm scheduled to have the gastric sleeve on Jan. 15. I've been on MFP before but fell off the "diet wagon". I decided to really turn things around after a trip to Disney in July and had to rent a scooter just because I was too fat to walk. I came home and looked up a bariactric surgeon. Since July I've lost 64 lbs on…

Thanks for this information. I'm scheduled for gastric sleeve surgery on Jan 15. I've been going to a support group at my surgeon office. We discuss many of the things in this article. I highly recommend any patients, whether pre or post op, to attend these type of meeting. They are very helpful.

I went to get my car inspected and my husband drove. The passenger side seatbelt never fit me before. I always had to use an extender. This time though I didn't need the extender! I was able to buckle the seatbelt without any help.

Going to be 45 in a couple of months. I lost over 80 pounds a couple of years ago, put about half that back on. So I'm starting over here again. Weight always goes on so easily but never comes off so easily.
-
I'm starting over again too. Last time I logged my weight was over a year ago. I can't believe I let myself backslide like that and of course because of it I've gained weight. :'( But it's a new day right? So here I go again. :)

This definitely and of course "baby daddy"

Good ones! but you forgot "Happier than a pig in *kitten*"

This.. I was also on WW for a while, quit because I just couldn't afford to pay for it anymore. Someone in a support group we have at my job recommended MFP. It's working for me just as well if not better than WW. I lost 54 pounds on WW in about 2 years and 36 lbs. in 10 months with MFP. With both programs it's about…

A pair of regular 5 pocket jeans with no stretch band!! Oh, and when I buy a bra in Wal-mart instead of special ordering from a Roaman's catalogue I'll be in Heaven!

This. And I would have told him, in plain English so he'd understand, to go shove it and mind his own damn business!

Ok I don't share my how much I weigh with most people so here goes: SW: 418 CW: 332.9 GW: 190 I started losing weight with Weight Watchers before joining MFP. Weight Watchers got to be too costly

Wow! You look like a whole new person! Looking at you makes me think I can do it too! Thanks for sharing your journey with us!

This! Definitely!!

Potato chips and dip! I absolutely can not have Nacho cheese Doritos! I will eat the whole bag in minutes!

Don't focus on losing weight just focus on eating healthy to feel better for yourself. After all the abuse you took it's understandable that you'd feel badly about yourself. It might help if you went to see a counselor to help you rebuilt your self esteem and to see that he was the problem not you. The people on this site…

I've heard this and repeated it myself for a laugh: "bones are for dogs, meat is for men" lol:laugh:

I worked at a knife factory and was at work inspecting blades when a co-worker came up from the back of the plant and told us a small plane had crashed into the WTC. We all thought it was just an accident then a little while later he came back and told us another plane hit the second tower. Work stopped all over the plant…

Hmm! Sounds interesting maybe I'll give it a try. Thanks for sharing.

I was on Weight Watchers for a while. Did really well too. I lost 55 lbs on their program but it's so expensive to pay that monthly fee every month so I left. My supervisor at work started a weight loss support group and suggested we all try MFP. This works just as well as Weight Watchers and it's free! And I haven't…

LOL! I loved reading this list. I definitely have #1 on your list. And I'm much colder than I used to be without the extra fat to keep me warm.

Wow! What a great story! I read the whole thing and loved it. What a great sense of humor you have. I can't believe you ever had trouble with girls. Your ex was a real a**! I thought you looked good chubby but you look even better now. Congratulations on your successful weight loss. Your story and seeing the results in…

I completely agree! Humor and Sarcasm are my weapons of choice too. Of course that doesn't always work so then I just tell people where they can go!

Wow! What an *kitten*! I had a similiar experience when I got pregnant for the first time. I had a miscarriage in the first trimester and the doctor I was seeing told me I needed to lose weight before trying to get pregnant again. WTH did my weight have to do with anything? He made it sound like it was my fault because I…

Well, it's a good thing I'm not a rat.

Congratulations! Great job! You look fantastic! You just gave me a bit of inspiration that I desperately need.

This Definitely! and I'll need one to if I hit my ultimate goal!

Agreed! I have seizures and my neurologist wanted me to try Topomax because she thought it was better than the current meds I was on. Since one of the side effects is weight loss and I was trying to lose weight I agreed to try it. As a seizure med it was no better than my old med but did help me lose weight. The bad thing…
