These are all GREAT suggestions! The bottom line is really calories in/calories out. 3500 claories equals one pound, so when you do the math, that is a 500 calorie deficit per day average if you are trying for a pound a week, whether eating less or exercising. The 1200 calories automatically creates a deficits, so you…

YEAH!!!! Isn't it amazing!!! And what a concept, couting calories DOES work! LOL! Welome and congrats!!

This is good advice. A LOT of people have a scheduled cheat day so that they don't feel deprived. Try not to over do it, but if you do, pick yourself up, dust yourself off, and start all over again. I also agree that it does seem to jump start the weight loss again. Strange, but it does. As long as you don't have serious…

You definitely should have some type or recovery nutrition. Especially if you are lifting. Additionally, you want to eat your exercise calories. These two go hand in hand to keep youer metabolism working and to keep your body from going into starvation mode.

Agreed! This is near perfect...and delicious, post workout snack!

NO!!!!!! No Muscle Milk. It has srscenic, cadmium, lead and mercury. A recent article in Consumer Reports, in July2010, backed up by FDA studies, found that many of the protein drinks on the market contain arsenic, cadmium, lead and other contaminants. Some they specifically named were EAS, Muscle Milk Vanilla Cream,…

Seriously!!! I'm with you! It's all gonna crawl up there anyway, so I'd prefer to have LESS! NO GRANNIES! Ever.

I totally agree with all of these replies. This is absolutely the BEST recovery product out there!! I love it after a workout, and it meets all of the requirements of protein and carbs. Helps to rebuild and repair. You can take it with you to the gym and just add cold water when you're done, or if I am coming straight…

OH BOY!!!!! I could go on and on about this one!!! It's TRUE!!!! So many health benefits and feel good stuff. I am at a sleep deficit today and it is late, but I will try to find this again tomorrow. If I can't find it, please send me a message and I will be happy to tell more. A great book check out, although it is BORING…

Just keep on keeping on. Make sure you log everything and it works! If you don't, you're only cheating yourelf. GOOD LUCK!!! And, what are HCG drops? Okay, I looked them up. YIKES!! Expensive!! Let me know how they work for you.....another one of those things that seems too good to be true....have you heard of any…

WOW!!! Way to go!!!

YOU CAN DO IT!!! MFP and my friends on here have really helped. It encourages me to see people losing as well as seeing that I am not along in my struggles!! Fee free to add me to your friends for encouragement if you want. :)

WELCOME!!! This is such a good website/app. It has helped me so much! I would recommend foods high in protein and fiber. They fill you up and help keep your blood sugar balanced. The more you move (exercise in whatever form) helps to keep your calories in the black. Don't go too low so that you don't go into starvation…

WAY TO GO!!!!! This is so encouraging!!! Your pictures really do tell a story on their own. What type of monitor are you using....I see it on your arm in some of your pics. I am looking to invest in one, but not sure which one. CONGRATS!!! Keep up the good work!

YES! HOWEVER, you must make sure that you have a good quality protein. I use Shaklee's Cinch products. They totally work and are backed by science. In their 12 week prelim study 100% of participants maintained 100% of their muscle mass, which means that they maintained their metabolism. Sounds like a sales pitch and I…

I'm in, but feel like I will NEVER be able to find this post again. Suggestions for that? CW:156.0

I LOVE IT TOO!!! Welcome!!! I used to sorta have a cheat day, where I didn't count everything, but did't go overboard either, but then I started dropping weight and was so encouraged that I didn't want to go over. If I exercise a lot or do lots of activities, I don't worry about it too much. I don't feel deprived at all…

Congrats on your successes!!! You really can't spot reduce, just overall, but keep working at it. You could do lat pulls to build muscle in your back, but it's still just going to be overall reduction. Some areas take longer than other. Keep up the good work!

I've been looking at these, too. I have a HR monitor, but would like one that does calories as well. Polar has some good models for around $100.

WAY TO GO!!! Keep up the good work!!

Hi. I use Shaklee's Cinch products. They are have high protein (And, non GMO) and they have done studies on the products. The cinch products have an amino acid Leucine in them that helps you maintain your muscle mass. In the study, 100% of the participants maintained 100% of thei muscle mass. And we all know that muscle =…

I agree with the others...you should go to the doctor to have it checked out. Good luck!
