Good luck and have fun. My first ever run event was sports relief 2 years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it. The atmosphere and support from everyone keeps you going. I'm doing the 6 miles at Ayr.

I can't claim to be any type of expert on running but when I started I used to get really sore calves to the point where I couldn't run for a couple of weeks till they settled down. About 6 months ago I started wearing knee high compression socks when running and I've not had a problem since.

Thanks for the info. :-)

Great, thank you.

Thank you. I don't normally eat my exercise cals so that's not a problem. This dieting sure gets confusing at times! lol!

Thank you. I think I'll change to 1lb a week and see what happens.

Thanks everyone. I've lost the 14lbs since beginning of January, so averaging about 1lb per week. I was only wondering about upping calories as a lot of people say 1200 is too low. I actually don't mind only have 1200 calories and most days and am at around that anyway and don't go hungry. My job is mainly sitting a desk…

I'm in Troon, Scotland. Feel free to add. :-)

I'm from Troon. Lost 23lbs using this last year but as usual for various reasons I've put about half of that back on! Starting afresh this week. :-)
