ok, this is going to be a hard answer, but I'll try to put it simply. 1.)I am a medium of sorts (channel, to be specific). 2.)I read tarot cards for people. 3.)I have never charged a dime for what I do, even though I have been offered money, I have never taken anything more than a drink or a sandwich for it. 4.)I think…

I'm with Bruce Lee and a couple other martial artist: If you want "strength" not "tone" than yeah, high weight, low reps. But, if you want overall tone, low weight and high reps is best, and it's not the same thing as "strength" to be clear.

sounds fantastic. Where'd you buy it?

Kashi Berry Blossoms or Kashi Blackberry Hills or Life Cinnamon or Peanut Butter Toast Crunch or Malt0-O-Meal (rarely) with Almond Milk. I'm broke and stuck with 2% til friday, but that's my usual. I'm cutting the last two out and searching for comparable organics. I'm not letting Monsanto (who is now putting HUMAN DNA in…

We just have VitaTops too down here by Anderson, SC. I've tried a couple, and they are pretty darn cool. Suggestion: make some homemade cakes with the leftovers from juicing if you do it, or by adding protein powder to the cake mix and use substitutes (carob stuff instead of chocolate, vegan egg substitute, almond milk…

Have you checked out "Cooking With The Vegan Zombie" or "Vegan Black Metal Chef" on youtube yet? I get a heap of recipes (and laughs) between them.

that ones awesome, i use that and "Fly From Inside" by shinedown or "a small victory" by faith no more

No offense to the way i'm going to put this, but your response to mitch is kind of like what i say to christians about gay marriage. Don't marry someone if you don't want to, and don't tell others what to do with their love life and time. It's a polite STFU How does it feel having that pointed out? Probably makes you…

Ironically, i would say plan to give in once a week. I pig out once every week to 2 weeks, giving myself permission, and find it's easier to get myself to work out and to eat healthy. (BTW, lost 24 lbs doing things this way) Part of the attraction to those things is we think "bad food" or "junk" and we as human beings are…

wouldn't annoy any real lifter. We'd rather help than see anyone hurt. :drinker: besides, i hardly lift that much myself, and usually smaller, so why would it be measly? think of this when you think that way, "do i value myself enough to admit when i'm doing well?"

100 pushups in sets of 25, 180 biceps curls (sets of 30), 100 triceps curls (sets of 50), 100 lat lifts (sets of 25). Jogging for 10 minutes. i could only do half of that a month a go, and not jog at all.

have had the same experience, i keep motivated by looking at pictures of things i really, really want called a Dream Board. Same thing happens with other areas of "work" like my side business, my career etc

Lorina has it right. My wife does kettle-bell and dumbbell stuff, but i personally have my own strategy i call "Envelopment" which i wrote about on a blog here on MFP I'm down 13 lbs in 4 weeks thanks to the weights AND the cardio and the idea i wrote about. You have to trust your instincts and work with what feels…

I do isolated groups, but mainly because that's how i was trained by my old aikido and gung fu instructors. They taught me to not neglect anything and some workout parts are compound, but specific groups were worked for specific reason. I only just now started back to the practices after a 14 year plus absence. jumping…

Neither is better. Strength is exactly that, it's for endurance and strength, but for calorie burning you need some cardio, and it helps to have the cardio to get your blood flowing to your muscle groups. I use cardio work as the warmup to the strength training and have found it effective in the past.

The weather by Anderson hasn't been so hot. Several days in the thirties, a 5 day run of rain etc. But, I've been doing most of my working out at home or mall walking (Anderson Mall is great!) So the weather is barely keeping me down at all.

WOW Gabrielle! Hurray! 80 already?! Aweseome! What kind of exercises are you doing to help? -Mike
-
Congratulations Katie! you've taken a great step in the right direction. My aim is just 165 to 175, partly because i'm getting back into weight lifting, and i know that's going to add some mass to me. What do you do for exercise? I need some tips in that department.

I'm Mike Y'all, I have 80 lbs to release. that's after dropping 8 already. I've been rolling up and down between fit and fat so many times, and i'm tired of going through this. It's lifestyle change this time, and for good. I've been moving into a Clean Eating type of living, slowly but surely.

Hey Ladies [ and Gents too :) ] I'm just starting over as far as weight loss too. Like TJ, i gotta admit i loose motivation sometimes, especially in times of stress. Some things i do to keep motivated are: Watch "The Secret" on youtube (or "the moses code" or "thrive:the movie" or comedy videos) Listen to some good oldies…
