Exactly, most normal ones seem to be 150 calories.

I just got the TomTom Runner GPS +HR I'm liking it a _lot_ so far. Even calculates mileage on the treadmill surprisingly accurately. http://www.tomtom.com/en_us/products/your-sports/running/tomtom-runner-gps-watch/dark-grey-heart-rate-monitor/index.jsp Best Buy has the best price I've found ($189).

"No Salt" is potassium. Often people on low salt need extra potassium anyway.

Although, having been attracted to women since the late 70's - all manner (except paisley) of dress did not deter me. I probably have no taste left. :drinker:

Paisley.

38.21 Still a bit behind.

I bought one of these for my wife for her birthday last year - if they push it far enough back - I can give it to her for this upcoming birthday too! :drinker:

Um, so it's fine when it's a crap substitute for mushrooms or cheese? What kind of "boycott" is this?
-
Add sent. That was my experience too. "It can't be this easy" "WTH? Why didn't I think of this 15 years ago?!"... Glad I found it - better late than never.

Great job!

:noway: There's GOT to be a moral in this story...

:drinker: 19 years tomorrow.

Hey Scuba, Welcome back! First, the 30 pounds will come back off. Pretty quickly really. In my experience, when you come off a low-carb diet people gain about 10 pounds of water as they re-add carbs. That will slide back off fast enough. So, you'll be back to +20 soon. Second, you are a rockstar when it comes to meeting…

Try to pass off cauliflower as actual food. Cook fish in the house. Cook cabbage in the house.

True. The deciding factor between whether or not this is a "Very Bad Idea™" or a fine way to spend an afternoon is, IMO, the time limit for the race. If it's 2 hours - you'd need to go at 6.55 mph - this is possibly a "Very Bad Idea™" to shoot for this time or less. If it's 2.5 hours - you'd need to go at 5.24 mph - this…

Are you doing run/walk intervals? I'd stick with those. As your fitness improves you can make your run intervals longer and your walk intervals shorter. You don't need to fail. And unless you are pushing too hard - you should not despise running. http://www.jeffgalloway.com/training/half-marathon-training/

Take up playing the didgeridoo? (No, really, it's supposed to be helpful) Give it a few days - I got used to mine really fast. Try to be extra sleepy before you go to bed the first few days.

I would, personally, ignore it. I pretty much just track calories and have been pretty successful so far. But there is nothing magically healthy about the sugar in fruit. It's fructose and glucose. It's a sugar. But I would not avoid fruit either - it's healthy and yummy (especially fresh strawberries). So... I'm left…

^ All this (well, not the same height part). :) I started running at 282 lbs last February. I too am less convinced about the super expensive shoe thing - but I still wear $100+ Brooks shoes - for now. It was ultimately worth the price to be able to not worry about shoes anymore. But any time I hurt myself (happily all…

Hi Jennifer! Great to hear that it's going well! Thank you! It has certainly been a fun ride over the past year - completely life changing. I'm down to my last 20 lbs too - I'm hoping that I keep losing at a good pace - lots of rumors that the last 20 lbs takes the longest. But we can disprove those rumors. :) Let's see…

20.36 since the 1st. A little behind plan, but I took a couple days off after the "Holiday Streak".
-
And that would be nice.

maybe it is warmer 300 miles South?
-
Maybe you should run South?

Plus it's cold

Everyone needs a vacation

I agree with Jane

At least every other day - usually daily. But I track it on a spreadsheet and plot the trends - this helps with the daily WTF moments. As long as the trend is down, I'm happy.

Look for different recipes. I made a pretty decent chocolate bread (!) the other night for 140 calories a slice.

Hi Jen and welcome! I've lost over a hundred pounds over the last year and Keiras_Mom has lost more than me. My main advice would be to follow the website calorie calculator for both up and down days.
