I've love to get up at 5:30!! I have to get up at 4:15 in order to get a decent workout in and make it to work on time (I live 30 miles from where I work). There's no special secret to it. I try to go to bed at a decent out and when the alarm goes off, just get up...I have to do this or I will talk myself out of it!…

My husband has talked me into giving this a shot! Starting as soon as it's warm enough to get outside, hopefully next week! Any tips?

I also use the Great Value Sugar Free drink mixes. I sprinkle a little in my cup everytime I fill it up. Our water here tastes horrible and it helps to mask that!

You could be building muscle, and the scale is aggravating when that happens! It can take a few weeks before the weight starts coming off if this is the case. My husband is the same way, he will drop weight like crazy when I either gain or lose nothing. Hang in there!

You are completely correct! I did the Atkins diet years ago and yes, I lost a ton of weight. But the minute I went off of it (it's not something you can live with forever!) I gained everything back and then-some.

Hi, my name is Brenda and I was told I was post-menopausal at 36. It took some convincing to have my doctor do the blood work to prove it. I had been on Norplant for 10 years, the pill after that. Well, the pill caused a blood clot in my leg, so I decided I was done having children and had my tubes tied. I know there's not…

What supplements are you taking? I take black cohash daily and it helps a bit with the hot flashes, but not 100%. I'm not able to do hormone replacement therapy due to a history of blood clots!

You look great! Awesome job!

I'm the same way! I can't even go on a quick 15 minute walk without it or I feel completely out of sorts!:drinker:

bump...me too!

I used to fight this over and over again. I would eat my allowed 1300 calories without paying attenion to the NET number and was getting no results. But for some reason it clicked in my stubborn brain that I need to eat more. Once I started eating into my exercise calories, things started to happen!

Bump - I am curious about this too. I barely break a sweat in the "fat burning" range

This is going to be a great thread! I went through menopause very early in life (36!), but still suffer from hot flashes, as well as that stubborn weight gain. I am currently working my way through Power 90, and in the 32 days I have completed, have lost nothing!! But I know I'm gaining muscle from the circuit training, so…

I'm 42 and went through menopause in my late 30's. It's getting harder and harder each year to get the weight off. I've worked in weights with the cardio this time around and really hope it will make a difference! Good luck!

I don't agree with your title "it's not much but it makes me happy"....what you've done is something great!!! Way to go! :flowerforyou:

Constantly up and down for me. Sometimes it can be so frustrating!

I swear by my Polar HRM. I have the F7 and wouldn't trade it for the world!

I will have to try them, thanks for the recomendation!

I train for it. I like to have at good 500-600 miles in before the ride....with lots of hills worked in. The more you train, the more enjoyable this ride is

Don't beat yourself up too bad over this. Your mother probably enjoyed the lunch with her daughters and that should count for something. These days happen and all you can do is move on to tomorrow

My husband and I will be picking it up somewhere along the way, just working on logistics. This will be our 10th year doing this :o)

My Power 90 arrived yesterday and I am stoked to start it on Sunday! My only concern is the food plan. I'm going to try to do my best with the food plan, but my main goal is to use the workouts to bust through my stubborn plateau. I've been working out for months as well as watching my calories and haven't been able to…
