  • Wow, that is great progress. way to go!!!
  • spinach, red peppers, and feta
  • Thanks for the link. This is something I struggle with all of the time and need as much info as possible. Thanks!!
  • So, I am a bit older, 38, have had 5 c sections and 1 normal delivery - believe me I totally get the tummy area that needs to go. I think some of mine is scar tissue and may never naturally go away, but I call it my battle scar and wear it with honor. I am always looking for friends too. Add me if you are still needing…
  • I think they know this season sucks because of all of the "go on line at blah, blah, blah, .com for interactive chat with former contestants, etc. Seriously, Conda "There is so much negativity" Call the Whambulance. Without her, the red team looked so much happier. I was thinking that maybe, just maybe, Emily would have…
  • Fasting every once in awhile is actually good for your body, or so I have read. It won't put you into starvation mode When I fast, I learn what it is like to be TRULY hungry, and am more grateful for my fridge that has a ton of food in it. I also feel more in control. I pray and ask God to help me make it through the fast…
  • You are very frustrated and have gone through some really tough stuff. I don't think there is anything wrong with you. I am so sorry for your loss and the struggle you are having. I have been stuck for 6 months, and i trained for and ran a 15K during that time. Didn't lose a single pound. Very frustrating. Is your injury…
  • Start walking. Walk for 20 min a day and then bump it up each week. I have to write down everything I eat, every bite bc it is too easy for me to eat the rest of my kids lunches, or half a bag of chocolate chips. Good luck!!!
  • I just started writing it down on paper, easier for me to do than going to the computer every time I eat. Then I enter it in my notes at the bottom and do a quick add calorie. Tracking EVERY bite has made me more aware of what I am eating. I am home all day with 3 young kids, it is easy to eat the rest of their pb&J…
  • All I have to say is "Why not me?" Why shouldn't I be able to do this. I kick my butt out of bed at 5:15 to work out for an hour, then take care of my fam all day, why shouldn't I feed myself better food instead of junk? I need to find sweetness in life, not in food. Thanks for the thoughts. I appreciate you taking the…
  • Holocaust by Bullets by a priest I can't remember what his name is, who has found eye witnesses to the genocide of the Jews in Russia. Lots of stuff I didn't know had happened. Very eye opening, and depressing that people are that cruel. and Are You Ready? by Bob Harper - It has been helpful, helped me get psyched about…
  • Ha ha ha!!!! I loved this. Seriously, when my husband puts his dish in the dishwasher, I kiss him. He does it so rarely, so it is a big deal. He is great and I LOVE him dearly. But... I do refer to him as my 7th child at times. And... usually when he does stuff like that it means it has been too long and he wants some…
  • I don't bc I don't think the calorie count for the workout is accurate, has been off for some people by over 200 calories. Also, on biggest loser, those people work out ALL DAY LONG and eat about 1800 calories, so why should I eat more than that? I know there are people who do, and it works for them. It doesn't work for…
  • How hard was it for you to quit caffeine. I am struggling with that now. It is my pick me up in the afternoon. Nothing else works for me like a diet coke. How long did it take you to not crave it anymore. If you could send me a message back with any tips, that would be great. Thanks. I went without chocolate for a year, it…
  • You could see if the library has it too and just try it. Good luck.
  • You can totally train for it if the longest you can go is 4.5. Just increase your long run at least 1 mile each week until you get to 13 (you could do less, some people do). You can do it, that is a great goal. It is good to be working toward something during the events that are coming in your life. Good luck!!
  • I love to drizzle a little olive oil over some zucchini, squash, and red pepper and grill them in a grill basket. Sprinkle them with salt and pepper, so good. Leftovers go great on pizza or in morning omelets. Good luck.
  • Good for you, that is awesome. Keep up the great work. Imagine what you can do in 88 days. Way to go.
  • I nursed and ate fewer than I was suppossed to and my milk supply went down. I uped my caloric intake, made sure I ate back all of my exercise calories and drank a TON of water and milk. Also make sure you take your vitamins. You can do it. DON"T worry about what other people think. I think there is a way to add the…
  • I have found that instead of running my butt off I am loving the DVD's I got - Bob Harper Inside Out Method - cardio and strength training. I sweat a ton, and it is a FULL body workout. I trained for and ran a 1/2 marathon, 15K, and 5 K last year, and my back started to bother me. I switched to these DVD workouts and my…
  • Way to go, you should feel really great about that!!! Keep on going!
  • eggs for breakfast. They are $1.20 a dozen here, can last for 6 breakfasts. Cheaper than cereal and milk. I use lots of brown rice and beans as well. Lots of soups, they are less expensive too. Good luck.
  • quick veggie omelet. I make it while unloading the dish washer in the morning. Saute spinach, add the eggs (2 large or you could do 1 egg and 3 egg whites), cover, flip, put a LITTLE bit of cheese (I prefer feta, but whatever you have works) and fold over. Takes less than 5 minute, 225 cals and you are good to go.
  • I do 1 cup servings for mine. It is just easier to figure out. Good luck, chili is great!!
  • I use mine to puree veggies to add into food. I roast onions, red peppers, and carrots in the oven at 400 for 40 m in, stir once during that time. Let cool slightly. Put veggies in magic bullet, add chicken broth, puree. Add this mixture to soups or sauces and you sneak a ton of veggies into your food. I use it for shakes,…
  • I ran the hot chocolate 15 K run there in Dec. Not sure what you will run, but I will tell you traffic was TERRIBLE. Our race started 45 min late bc of traffic. Make sure you give yourself enough time to get there. It will be a great run! Good luck!!
  • Kim is my #2 also. I was impressed with Aqua, when he got across the monkey bars like he was 10 years old. I am hoping they pull it out this week. Seriously, I don't understand the drama about that. I would be so impressed if someone went home and lost more weight than I did while being on the ranch. This season has not…
  • I noticed that when I did sets of push ups along with my running training, my back and core felt a lot stronger. Also, one way I learned to increase speed was to do interval training on shorter runs. When I would do my 5 mile or less, I would run (probably more like jog) for 1 mile, then do 3 miles of intervals where I ran…
  • I have a prep day where I cook a bunch of meat (I am talking like 10 pounds) and then freeze it so that it is ready to add into meals. Also, cut up and roast veggies and then freeze them so that they are ready for add ins too. The prep day saves me on a busy day. Thanks for all of your tips, very helpful.
