I've been IF'ing since 2017. Around mid-late 2020, I slowly started to get back into old habits of just eating all day. I gained about 15 pounds back and went up a dress size, but I am now back into it for a couple weeks. I don't strictly monitor my fasts at the moment (this reminds me I could use a fast-tracking app to…

Great job! I can definitely see a difference... and I was cheering for you when you said you could finally get that skirt over your hips -- I know that feeling! Enjoy!

I totally agree. This reminds me of when my grandparents used to try to bribe me into losing weight as a kid. I think it's the totally wrong way to go. I mean, I guess if the OP is already on her weight loss journey and it's just an added bonus? Sure. But... something just rubs me the wrong way about this.

I am in Bucks County (near Philly) as well!

I love how so many people are bashing low-carb diets/dieters by saying "when they go back to eating carbs, it all comes back." Who's to say that low-carbers all go back to gorging on carbs once they've reached their goal? I think just like people using other eating plans/methods to reach their goals, many low carbers plan…

Couldn't agree more. I have to wonder if there's a reason that brand name crap comes up first in cases like that. Is MFP getting a kick back for this from other companies? I somehow doubt it, but it just seems to weird that "cinnamon" wouldn't be the first result. At any rate, I've sort of learned to live with it. I eat a…

qtip = extra fiber. Can't hurt.

This. I mean, I gave up wheat and processed carbs, because I realized it made me feel awful after I ate them... but I have surprisingly never felt like I was deprived. I don't even desire to eat them and I feel great!

I feel extremely hi right now after reading this thread.

You can get inexpensive scales at the dollar store sometime, but if not there: walmart, target, etc. You don't have to break your budget to be able to know how much you're eating. Also, a nice set of measuring cups and spoons. Once you have those three things, it makes a huge difference. In the beginning I realized I was…

Hey, me too! Small world.

Yeah! She's got a book coming out soon and I have her page added on my FB. Also exciting that two more members of the WBC left the church recently! http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/02/07/westboro-baptist-church_n_2637668.html

That's actually a really good breakfast... maybe minus the potatoes. High in healthy fats, low carb, high in protein. Your wife loves you... that's what that breakfast says.

bump! I had never heard of this, but it sounds interesting and I'd like to learn more.

I've never done it before, but I totally would. I don't have much rhythm, and I imagine I'd probably feel silly doing it at first, but in reality I know no one else is going to even be looking at me, because they're busy moving and watching the instructor, so they are in their own world. They have enough to concentrate on.…

THIS. Rebuy what he tossed, and tell him if he wants his whole milk, soda, etc he can go buy it himself. I don't see any reason why you can't both have your foods in the house. You are trying to commit to a lifestyle change. If he doesn't like what you're cooking or buying, he can cook or buy something different. Just…

I only log net losses. I am with the ladies who, if I gain a lb or two, I just wait until I've lost to update my weight on MFP.
-
Good... idea. I may do the same after my cats and I finish a bottle of red wine. I may even go crazy and light some candles.

I am single. So, probably drinking red wine with my cats. They're lushes.

BUMP! I like cheese, turkey rolls ups, heavy cream/cocoa powder/truvia shakes, veggies with full-fat dressing. Can always use new ideas as well!

HAPIfork and HAPIspoon (http://youtu.be/4CZtWd6UYCs) It doubles as a vibrator/sex toy -- so, even if you don't lose, you still win!

Try and non-fried meat and veggie dish, no rice. I had to force myself to JUST eat the main course, and not put it over rice (or at least not much... maybe 1/4 cup). I found I didn't miss it at all!

Bump. (I just purchased some tonight since they were on sale. Gonna try to make a mac n cheese type thing with them. We'll see how it goes!)

Don't worry about what medical professionals are saying as far as your being "overweight," "obese," etc based on BMI. The BMI classifications changed over the years. I don't believe in the "obesity epidemic." If suddenly the classification for "obesity" is a lower height-weight ratio, of COURSE it's suddenly going to look…
