  • lol, I was thinking the same thing.
  • That is odd, try this. -Weigh yourself the same time of day everytime -Apply another form cardio instead of or alongside of pilates. -Apply some strength training
  • I can attest to that. I didn't get abdominal definition until I changed my diet. Luckily I'm not a picky eater, so I've gotten to the point where I eat for nutrition.
  • 5'4" at 140lbs. I do wish I was taller, but this thread makes me feel a little bit better.
  • Thanks everyone! These posts gives me the motivation to push through my plateau. I've lost 5lbs since starting this site (from 145 to 140) and maybe I'll do an update at 135lb. Thank you! lol, I'm proud of you too and I don't know who you are. I see that your stats are very similar to mine when I first started out. I can…
  • Yeah I don't get it either. I could eat 4000 calories daily if I wanted to.
  • Thanks everyone! I'm glad that I'm able to help some peeps out with my post. Your posts also helps me to keep working towards my goal. Thats funny, I don't think I've been described as that before, lol Thanks!
  • I'll join ya, my push up challenge has been to reach 100. I got to 95 and ran out of gas. Since then I've been slacking off and my pushup count dropped to 80. So my goal is to add 20 more pushups.
  • Depending on your protein needs, you could probably get your protein needs from food alone. You could drink lowfat milk after a workout for recovery. The advantage of whey protein is that its the leanest way to get protein to your body. The brand I use is Optimum Nutrition, but its kinda expensive. Here's a relatively…
  • You can lighten the intensity, but keep at it. The reason why you're sore is because you're working muscles that aren't normally worked on a regular basis. The more you work out the less your body is prone to being sore. When you work out remember to stretch as much as you can. What also helps is eating protein rich foods…
  • Dang, that's like a different person! Congratulations on the hard work and perseverance.
  • .5 LB is nothing, don't be frustrated. Your body weight will change all the time during the entire course of you trying to lose weight. This is why I recommend to not weigh yourself so often. 1lb of fat does weigh the same as 1lb of muscle. But by volume, that 1lb of fat is larger than 1lb of muscle.
  • lol thanks, Yeah, I noticed the demographics here is mostly women, but thats ok, everyone is working towards the same thing. Thank you, I guess the shy fat me still exists inside me. lol 1.5 years for fat loss, several years for muscle build, and a year of cutting. Muscle build was by far the toughest, I envy those who are…
  • Change your workout regimen. Take up some strength training if you haven't already.
  • You have to eat your workout calories. Period. Now that is out of the way...its physically impossible to not lose weight if you are following the rules. It takes a long time, but you will lose weight. Remember that 1lb of fat is 3,500 calories, thats a whole lot of energy. If you aren't losing weight, reassess what you're…
  • To decrease your hunger you have to eat a larger volume. You can't reach that volume if you're eating foods rich in calories. Fiber also curbs hunger as well, so you could try eating more veggies.
  • Soda drinks are rich in calcium oxalates, which could turn into kidney stones. How much soda are you consuming?
  • They key to increasing your running speed is intensity. If you want to be faster, cut your mileage down to 2miles and try to finish that in 20minutes. If you increase your running distance, you'll only get slower. A way to get your body used to the increased strain is through hill running. Keep doing that until your body…
  • I may be biased, but a protein shake is the leanest and quickest way to get protein. Another thing you can try is hemp protein, but its a little bit more costly. If thats not your thing go for beans and lean meats. Try not to consume too much dairy, dairy is high in fat. The only dairy I consume is low fat milk and eggs…
  • Healthy foods are expensive because: 1. It costs more to produce 2. Less people buy them 3. Junk food is subsidized
  • Thanks for the support everyone! I'm loving all the weight loss signatures. lol, I'm digging the Batman reference. Thanks for the kind words and yeah going into it it was temporary, but now its my life. Thank you very much. I do feel like a new person and its a great feeling that I can carry this lifestyle for the rest of…
  • I usually bring a can of Tuna, but that can get boring quick! So you could switch it up with other lean meats and veggies. Carrots, cucumbers, lettuce, asparagus, skinless chicken, fish, etc.
  • The more you consumer sugar, the more your body is dependent upon it. It doesn't matter if its artificial or the real stuff. Just slowly remove yourself from it and your cravings will subside.
  • Thanks! I'm glad I can inspire others. I think its awesome, especially the iPhone app. It makes counting much easier.
  • Ah, thanks for all the kind words! Its great to see everyone work towards a goal. Thanks! In the past I felt like a blob and now I feel like a machine. I think guys have it easier with the whole loose skin dealy though because guys are able to fill it out with muscle mass. Good luck on your continued efforts! Thats funny…
  • Weight loss would be the biggest factor to get rid of a muffin top. This can obviously be done through nutrition and cardio. Also add in some strength training and abdominal workouts.
  • Light beer is the way to go. It doesn't really matter how you cut it, a drink of alcohol comes out to about 100 calories.
  • BMI is not supposed to be taken as an accurate measurement for athletes or the elderly. For most people/general public its semi accurate.
  • I don't know much on how the female body works because I'm a guy, but you want to stay away from foods that are high in sodium. Sodium gives you that bloating feeling. I'm not so sure about sugars, but it wouldn't hurt to stay away from those too.
  • Yo, whats up. I found this site from the iPhone app. I thought it was kinda funny that when I logged onto the website and saw how many more female members there are. I started my weight loss years ago and now I'm using this application to lose the last few lbs and get to a higher fitness level.
