  • I did 35 minute core class this morning - boy am I wasting my time!!!
  • Soon to be 57 here also!! It is tougher as we get older but not impossible!!! MFP is a great way to connect with like minded people with the same goals and you will learn a lot. But don't wait to learn here, grab a couple of good nutrition books and educate yourself along the way. You will find the thing that works for…
  • I live on a lake and we have a lot of summer guests, I hated that I, the hostess, was the one who had to keep covered up. My daughters have teased me for years about my swim dresses!! And it has been years since I would let anyone photograph me, even though we are huge picture takers/scrapbookers! I had lost quite a bit of…
  • Bailey's (or Carolyns) on the weekends!!!! Black for the rest of the week when I have to work!
  • Ditto, braburn!!! Because they are always consistent in taste and texture!! The others seem to "change" depending on the time of year when I get them.
  • I just need to say that, in my humble women's opinion, what makes a man a real man is how he treats women, children and animals and not by what he eats!!!! Who cares how you get your fuel, just get what you need to be healthy and happy!
  • OMG - I've lost my head!!!
  • I will have to look at podcasts for distraction and trail running sounds fun too! Thanks
  • Being winter I ahve been running mostly on indoor track and tread, now trying to do most outside. The outside is what I find most boring! The tread (deadmill) is bad but I have the television to keep me distracted. The indoor track has some pretty decent "eye candy" to look at as it runs around upper level of the gym!!…
  • True. . . I love rollerblading but the trails are still "winter covered". I use running because it is efficient and, as mentioned, I love being able to sign up and run 5K's with my daughter and my co-workers. The boredom just makes it so difficult to get excited about a run!
  • I like this idea! Thanks for the suggestion. I knew there had to be others out there with ideas!!!
  • I believe it is the best way to go for non-runners to get started!!!
  • yes, free and there are several - all very similar!!!
  • Just on Amazon looking to get one!! I watched a few youtube videos and it looks like fun. Who knew that at nearly 60 I would be back to things from childhood like hooping and jumping rope???
  • You are an inspiration!! Way to go, I love stories like this from real people doing real stuff that works!
  • Once a week here. . . . we have a challenge going at work and everyone weighs in on Monday morning! It makes us think about how much abuse we do on the weekend!! I sometimes sneak a peek at the gym during the week but only go by Mondays.
  • I will tell you that I had to first go "cold turkey" to eliminate cravings. I did 6 weeks with no sugar or wheat (this can cause the blood sugar "highs" that cause cravings too). Lots of meat, veggies, some fruit and even cheese and I didn't have any more cravings for the junk. Now, I can have a taste of something…
  • I have the same issue, not a pretty workout!! But then again, I am not a pretty cryer either!! I get red and blotchy, am also very fair skinned with red (mostly gray now) hair. Somethings we have no control over. If you feel good, are getting a good workout in, your doctor isn't concerned, don't worry about what others…
  • I am still waiting for that promised "runners high", looks like I have to wait until I can run 6 miles to find it!!! UGH I do not enjoy running, I do it because I can't and am determined to beat it! I love when I am done!!! Maybe someday I will enjoy it but not yet!
  • Great question. . . . I too have a difficult time sleeping after evening excercize - even when exhausted. For example: yesterday I did a great early morning (5am) workout with my daughter for over 1.5 hours. Worked all day, attended a late meeting and then ran with a co-worker at 6pm. Because I get up at 4am, I go to bed…
  • I would love to lie about that Steak & Shake Mushroom Swiss burger that I had yesterday!!! But I didn't and it was over 900 calories!! I was still within my calories because I was "forced" to grab fast food because I hadn't eaten anything since breakfast and it was 3:00 pm. Then I didn't eat anything after that either and…
  • It is a great problem to have!! Good for you, treat yourself to a new pair!!
  • I have to "weigh" in here. . . . get it??? Seriously, my hubby doesn't get it at all! In the past he was like the food police and had a comment or a "look" for everything I ate, even healthy stuff that he didn't understand. . . like avacodo. It was very frustrating, he knew I did a LOT of research, etc., but was still very…
  • Great work!!! You look amazing!
  • How does this fit in with IF???:indifferent:
  • Amazing. . . . what character and fortitude!! I just went and checked our your journey and I am filled with awe!!! I did not get time to read all of your blogs (I am at work) but the photo journey says a lot! I can't wait to take the time to read further to see how you handled the ups and downs along the way. While I only…
  • Good to know that you are getting that good of a workout in so soon. I plan to start tonight after work, usually I work out in the early morning. However, big snow storm kept me from the hour drive to the gym and back before work so I have to do it later. Providng my family doesn't decide they need something first! I am…
  • good to know, I will watch for these things as well!
