I totally accept what you are saying (like I said I have tried to word it in a way that wouldn't be taken badly but have failed so I apologise). I was simply trying to show what I meant by not all calories are created equal. My opinion would be that the person eating option 2 would be a healthier person than the one eating…

You are quite right. It does depend on context. So to be clear... no I am not saying that you can never lose weight if you eat a McDonalds sometimes.

Again, I totally agree, but my point is being taken to the extremes again. Yeah, as I put in my previous comment, people are taking what I said to mean that no one can ever eat a cookie again in their life, which is not what I was saying. I am going to stop defending my point now because I don't feel like what I said was…

I 100% agree. Like I say I have balance in my diet and never deny myself any cravings. I drink beer on a weekend, I go out for meals with my boyfriend and have ice cream and chocolate. Within my calories (most of the time :D ). I think my point has just been taken to an extreme and people think (maybe quite rightly if it…

Isn't that basically what I said? I am saying you can have 400 calories of Mcdonalds or 400 cals of a homemade meal. They are both equal to the same amount of energy, however one is better for you than the other. but we can agree to disagree :)

That is exactly the point I was trying to make, it is a fact that vegetables are going to be better for you than cookies. Fresh food trumps processed food every day of the week. I am all for balance and my diet is by no means perfect and am certainly not a nutritionist or doctor and don't claim to be, however..... a…

Agreed. People are too quick to a negative response on here sometimes. We are all doing our own thing, we all have our own struggles and as long as we are following a healthy lifestyle, then aren't we all here for support? Not a telling off or judgement

Update - JFT Friday 11th January 2019 Still struggling with my head cold so trying to find the energy to complete my workout tonight - Stick to my planned meals for the day. Struggling to eat everything because I feel quite unwell but know I need the calories. Healthy food = healthy body (I did stick to my healthy eating -…

I felt miserable last night as well!! No reason at all. Maybe it was the Monday Blues.

:D I got booed (or rather got a comment so I assumed that's why this person booed it) because I suggested that 300 cals of veg would be better for you than 300cals of cookies. How dare I state that vegetables are good for you! :D

Agreed

Sorry but I didn't say to eat under the BMR. I said that this is the base number of calories, I.e. the minimum that should be eaten everyday.
-
I thought that myself but would never judge someone else unless I knew the facts. I couldn't starve myself (just not built that way 😂). I just don't think people realise how much their reactions affect people. It put me right off posting tbh. You guys are cool though, you can stay 👍

We don't have much hope do we :D Oh well, I will take the general advice and not read too much into. Life lesson to focus on my own success instead of looking for confirmation from other people!

It was on the 5lbs January weight loss challenge. I posted my weekly update and stated that I lost 4lbs since last Sunday. Thank you for your advice, it is appreciated :)

I edited this to find out how people use the reaction, rather than assume it is a negative.

UPDATE January 6th - 140 January 13th - 135.8 (-4.2lbs) :) January 20th - January 27th -

Can I point out that I was actually kind of right 😂 not sure why my post got so many 'woo's (tbh not sure what that reaction is supposed to be). Good luck with your healthy lifestyle, I hope you manage to get the results you are looking for. Just remember, to keep it maintainable 👍👍

I'm 5ft2 and my BMR is 1450 (for a sedentary job). So this is the base number of calories I should eat a day. I would suggest you Google your bmr and go from that. There are loads of calculators that will work it out for you. Remember to eat good foods as well. 300 cals of veg will make you feel fuller and much better than…

Check in from JFT - Thursday 10th January Full of cold so need to make sure I don't fall off my healthy lifestyle just because I feel rotten. - Remember that good nutritious food will make me feel better :) - Plan my evening meal so I am less likely to eat what is 'easy' rather that what is good for me :) - Drink healthy…

My trainer gave me suggested macros and calories of 1450 a day (which takes into account my sedentary job). I have stuck to the calories no problem and eating healthy foods (well I think they are!! Lots of home cooked. I don't do ready meals and try to avoid to much processed food). As I don't have too much to lose I was…
