  • That's three more than me......
  • Is the wedding in a shower? Lol. Seriously, all look lovely on you.
  • Have another dress on standby in case nothing works. Besides, I wouldn't want to be wearing a white dress at TOM!
  • You can have results or you can have excuses, but you can't have both.
  • I second what everyone else has said about doing the research and also about addressing the reasons why you have become overweight in the first place. One thing that has surprised me in these responses is the general lumping of all bariatric/Weight Loss Surgeries into a catchall "surgery". There are actually a range of…
  • Thanks for the additional information, LilRedRooster. By way of background, my heart rate was in the high 80s before I lost weight and got fitter.
  • Thank you for sharing your story. That wa s very brave of you. And congratulations on your success AND attitude in dealing with the hand that life has dealt you.
  • The only overweight doctor who told me to lose and who I took seriously was the one who shared her personal experience with me and empathised with how difficult it could be. She told me what had worked for her, what hadn't and why it was a constant battle. She made me feel like we were on the same page.
  • Enjoy! I love cycle commuting. My trip is 30 km or about 18.5 miles each way and I feel so refreshed when arrive (into a nice hot shower!) It has helped my cardio and weight loss.
  • You look for ways to add an extra 5kms to your cycle commute to work in the morning because it is too dark to ride home after work.
  • I would be cautious about choosing new shoes while injured because you can't know what the injury is masking or otherwise when testing new shoes. Best wishes.
  • Sorry to hear you have experienced such a tragedy. Now would be the time for looking after your emotional health rather than trying to make lifestyle changes. You are going through enough changes as it is with the loss of someone who was special in your life. You've only gained 1kg - that could simply be a day to day…
  • I choose not to eat before my early morning workout as I feel it makes me sluggish. I prefer to work out, drinking plenty of water, then shower before I eat. Seems to work for me.
  • Look for opportunities for incidental exercise as well. DH and I went on a cruise a couple of years ago and chose to use the stairs every single time rather than the elevators. Even though I developed painful arthritis in my foot during the cruise (thought it was an injury to start with), we both came home at the same…
  • If you didn't care, he couldn't piss you off. Now enjoy some rampant make up s3x and burn off some more calories!
  • You're sick. Listen to your body
  • I started out doing a little contract writing for my current employer and as I proved myself and filled a hole in the business, the work grew into a casual job, then a permanent part-time one and now a full time one where it is so busy that it can be difficult to take a day off! My boss chased me because we were on an…
  • The only effect I personally experience from eating too close to bedtime is that my stomach feels fuller and I find it more difficult to relax into a good night's sleep. To address the OP's original dilemma - I plan my day as best I can and pre-log it. Not only does it help keep me accountable to myself, but it also allows…
  • I think of my body as an engine and food as the fuel that my engine needs to burn to run well. By keeping my engine tuned and maintained (i.e getting my body into good shape and maintaining healthy behaviours), my engine runs well. But I also have to keep my engine well fuelled so that it can continue to run well, hence,…
  • Congratulations. It's always nice when others see the results of your hard work.
  • Disclaimer: I have had weight loss surgery - gastric lap band. Congratulations on achieving your great success. I wish I had been able to do it without surgery, but, I am also glad that I had the opportunity to get the lapband and also enjoy success. As another poster said, it is because some people look on weight loss…
  • That's great!
  • The liquid diet is to reduce the size of your liver before surgery because it has to be moved. I bought a new book from my surgeon's office last night and it described dealing with an enlarged liver as trying to move a blob of jelly (jello) with chopsticks! It also said that the worst part of the liquid diet is about day…
  • It's not easy but it is something that we just have to get through. Try to keep your eye on the prize - short term pain for long term gain. Good luck
  • Just cos I am different....I workout first thing in the morning, either a power walk or a 30km bicycle commute to work. I don't eat before because it leaves me feeling sluggish and weighed down. Re the fuelling the car analogy - my main tank may be empty first thing in the morning but I still have plenty in the reserve…
  • Mmmm coffee!
  • Put all of that information into your Profile Settings, set two pounds per week as your weight loss goal and MFP will tell you how many calories you should be eating. Then you can choose whether or not to eat your exercise calories back. Be warned, this is an area of major debate on this site with many people for eating…
  • Plenty of awesome Aussies on here. Check out the group section and join us over there.
  • Congratulations, they are awesome NSVs! I have had the same thing with shoes and can now buy REGULAR ladies' shoes. Love the belt NSV too. Enjoy shopping for your new wardrobe. And I first thought my weight loss must have affected my eyesight as well cos I couldn't see #9 either, but seems like it is one that would have a…
