Good on you for getting out there and having a go! Cycling is a great way to help lose weight and is really kind to your knees and joints. I seriously doubt that you are too heavy for your bike, but why not pop into your local bike shop and get their advice. My local bike shop is my best source of information and support…

Do something together. My husband walks and cycles with me plus we dance. Don't focus on the weight loss, focus on the time you spend doing activities together. As the weight starts to come off, as it inevitably will, she will become motivated and want to do this for herself. Speaking as someone who has had major weight…

You can have excuses or you can have results but you can't have both, so choose carefully.

December 31st. That's New Year's Eve so there is always a party somewhere!

I used to think it was jealousy but then I realised that I wouldn't feel jealous if I didn't love my husband so much so I decided to turn the feeling around and focus on how wonderful my husband is and how jealous those other women at dancing must be when I walk out the door with him every time.

Don't let that hold you back. Aching knees, breathlessness, high blood pressure, risk of heart attack, stroke, diabetes, sleep apnoea are all much more serious and difficult to live with than maybe having loose skin. Good luck

That must be so frustrating! Do you have any options for appealing for healthier food options in the cafeteria? This is something that you really need to fight for. Maybe you can get other students on side with a petition or something else.
-
Oh, I know what you mean! Hate that runny nose when I'm out riding.
-
Welcome and good luck. It can be difficult at the start but the effort now is definitely worth the results down the track!

My husband and I work out together, from morning walks and swimming laps to our exercise favorites of dancing (50s style rock n roll) and cycling. I work harder when we exercise together.
-
Finding an exercise that you enjoy will make a huge difference. I love dancing and cycling. Fortunately my husband loves them both as well so we can do them together. At first I really enjoyed cycling alone but lately I have realised that I not only enjoy it more when we ride together or with others, but I also work…

My tan lines are something I am really proud of this summer because they show how much I have been outside exercising! But I do use sunscreen because skin cancer is a major concern here in Australia. My next challenge is how to get rid of my tan lines so that I can wear my gorgeous new shoulder-less maxi dress for my son's…

I'm proud of my husband because he is eating more healthily and working out with me, even though he doesn't need to lose weight. He has lost a couple of kg and even though I am a bit jealous, I am still very proud of him. He is my greatest champion on my weight loss journey/healthy lifestyle journey and I am his greatest…

A prophetic misspelling of wait, perhaps? I've just started menopause so am now falling on both sides of the fence, never knowing when TOM with come, or as I said to my DH, TOQ - time of quarter. LOL. and then feeling crap when it does. My DH's response is usually that he has it worse because he has to shave every day.…

I'm not too sure of the general consensus but my approach is to look for a balance over the period of a week. That way if I overeat by a large amount one day, I am not trying to make it all up the next day which is likely to lead to me overeating again. Plus I do some pretty big calorie burns with long bike rides, so I can…

Sorry to hear you are struggling. I totally understand and I am 10 months post-op. One day at a time.... Just wondering why you are trying to avoid getting a fill? I see my surgeon this Thursday and won't be getting a fill because I am in the green zone but if you need a fill to reach the green zone then go ahead and get…

1. I woke up beside my husband. That makes me happy every day! 2. We went for a morning walk even though it was raining. 3. I ordered jewellery to wear to my son's wedding in April

so the most you could lose (if you stopped going) is 17.50? Sounds good to me! And I bet you will, take full advantage of it.
-
Monday - 40 min walk - until dancing class starts again next week then 90 min of rock n roll Tuesday and Thursday - cycle commute, 2.5 hrs per day Wednesday - 40 min walk Friday - 45 min lap swimming and\or an evening of dancing Sunday - cycling, either 2 hrs "milk run" (an easy bunch ride) or a more intense 2-3 hrs ride

A BodyMedia Fit, HRM or similar would be the best way to know.

Weetbix with boiling water most days but when I cycle to work I have oats. Weekends may be scrambled eggs.

Definitely! My husband and I do 1950s style rock n roll. It's a great workout and fun, fun, fun.

I have lost more than one-third of my body weight so I do get comments about not needing to lose any more weight. I just put those down to the massive change that people see in me. I know that I need to lose more to become healthy and am keeping at it. On the other hand, my DH, who is my greatest champion and supporter,…
