Don't eat out or buy convenience foods. I am a recent convert to a low sodium diet. The days we eat out the sodium goes way up so now we are preparing fresh food most days. It is cheaper and healthier. If you have the time fresh is the key.

Amanda, you can do the weight loss thing! Before I never could stick with counting calories or giving up snacks but with MFP it is suddenly clicking. I am not sure but I've heard that a minimum of 1,000 calories is necessary or your body will go into starvation mode and that does not help to lose weight. I would be careful.

I am new to MFP, over 65, retired 2 months ago and the weight began creeping up. I am excited about MFP, I know we can do this.
