  • I also make camper dinners wrap ground turkey, potatoes, onions, bell peppers and carrots in foil and top with cheese! Bake in the coals until its thoroughly cooked! You can also do dessert ones with apples, raisins, nuts, a little butter and cinnamon and brown sugar!
  • I turn oats and nuts into powder in my coffee grinder. They are ~$10.
  • I've seen people in PJ pants at the gym. I just assume it's the closest thing to sweats they own so good on them! That being said, PJs in public are not MY cup of tea. Right now for winter working out, I have a pair of full length Under Armour running tights and a pair of full length yoga pants. The UA is pricey but very…
  • I rarely read things random strangers post on the internet claiming they are "must reads." Yours was. Thank you. I've been feeling like this more and more. I feel like there is some formula I have to discover to have a perfect diet, and recently found myself crying at the thought of going out to eat (the sodium, the…
  • Austria or Australia? One makes a lot more sense than the other. Or you are having an epic trip. Probably might want to double check those reservations though.
  • IMG=img You need the tag at the end too, to end the command to post a picture. [ / img ] without spaces. should read: [ img ] URL [ / img ]

  • Well done!
  • This is how I feel. I still weigh-in each week because of a contest I'm in, but MFP has really already changed my life without seeing big losses. I'm doing 30DS with some extra cardio and tracking what I eat. Congrats on your successes!
  • I think it's very possible to *look* like you lost 55lbs, but getting the actual number on the scale will be harder. I would recommend doing a workout designed to get you "shredded" fast- P90X, Insanity, 30 Day Shred, Ripped in 30, Power 90, etc. To me inches lost and toning is way more valuable than numbers on a scale,…
  • Mine expires on my 25th birthday in the end of June and says I'm 40lbs heavier than I am. Two goals: Be at or close to my goal weight for the new license. Get a license in Virginia, not Ohio! Congrats on your amazing NSV!!
  • I'm 6' and 203 right now. I wear size 8-10 currently in pants. I'd estimate 90% of my extra weight is in my trunk though, and need XL tops usually. I started at a size 18, weight 269 in 2009.
  • Gonna try posting pictures for the first time on here! Hope it works! I'm pretty sure I'm an inverted triangle shape. Always had banging legs with a thick trunk. Right now I'm L/XL in tops and 8-10 in jeans. Thanks for some motivation to keep pushing. I always feel like I look so darn disproportionate. Right now I'm 203 at…
  • For a cheap option, try ginger tea. I make mine with about 1/4 inch of shaved ginger root steeped in 190ish degree F water for 5 minutes. A little honey and it clears my sinuses right out, plus helps with digestion!
  • I guess it depends on your living situation, but when the weather is yucky outside or too icy to make it to the gym I run stairs or jump rope for some cardio. Or have a dance marathon to upbeat music (140-180bpm is best for a workout)
  • DAMMIT GAP YOU'RE ABOUT 2 YEARS TOO LATE!!!!!! My first regular clothes was a pair of Gap jeans. Hahah will continue to shop at Gap though, because this is a gift to young, overweight women everywhere. If I could have shopped at just one of the stores my friends did in high school.... man, my self esteem would have been…
  • I'm sorry for the pain your family is dealing with right now. I really admire you for wanting to stay on track when there is so much else to prioritize and I hope I can help you. As much as is possible, try to remember that food is a distraction. When we are putting calorie, sugar, and fat laden things in our mouths, we…
  • Unfortunately if it's hurting and you're winded, you're doing it right. That being said- exercise can't necessarily be categorized. You like dancing, right? When you hop out of bed in the morning, do a little 15 minute dance session. It will wake you up and get you energized for the day, and dancing is a great calorie…
  • We can't tell you what will work. It's worked for a lot of people on here at all different weights. Will the shred make you lose 10lbs? Not unless you have a lot to lose, I believe. Will it make you lose inches and you'll appear to have lost 10bs? Probably, if you do it right and put real effort in. It's been working for…
  • That dress is ADORABLE and you look so fabulous in it!!! Great work so far! I was just talking with another larger friend about how nice it is to be able to shop in normal stores again.
  • -1lb ground turkey= 4 4oz portions for burgers, tacos, breakfast scrambles -1 lb boneless skinless breasts for stir frys, grilled chicken, etc -2-3 sweet potatos make a great "dessert" evening snack with some cinnamon, cloves, and a little pat of butter, I eat 1/2-1 potato as a serving -1 package of whole wheat wraps for…
  • What does the workout entail? A lot of things like that are considered circuit training.
  • Does your lease have specified quiet hours? Mine doesn't but I use 10pm to be respectful. Before then, eff the cranky downstairs lady. 30 Day Shred is less than 30 minutes. She can deal with my jumping jacks for that long.
  • Hallo! Ich spreche Deutsch. Als ich in Deutschland wohnte, hab ich fast fliessig Deutsch gesprochen. Leider habe ich jetzt weniger Moeglichkeiten um Deutsch zu sprechen :( Sind sie beide in den USA?
  • For cardio, swimming and jump rope.
  • Yes, listen to that advice. My birthday is at the end of June and I really want to run a 5k and have my grand unveiling in DC with a bunch of friends I haven't seen since college! Like she said, exploring new recipes is fun! I love to cook and make up my own recipes.
  • OMG come to the US and be my shopping buddy! I just bought some inspiration shorts and a sweatshirt so I can keep motivated! You look awesome and very stylish!
  • King Corn is a great documentary that talks about government subsidies and GMOs in the corn industry in the USA. It looks at both sides of the issue, including health issues, economic implications, and the effect on small farms. It's a great documentary that I would encourage anyone to watch. Edit: It's not by any means…
  • I was never diagnosed with anything, and I'm not on either side of the "truth" of this article. This is just my .02. I got fat in middle and high school by drinking real coke every day. I knew I needed to change something and switching to diet seemed like the cure (hahahah not quite, 17 year old me wasn't super informed).…
  • Bump! Bought a spaghetti squash yesterday! Anyone ever done a macaroni and cheese? I think I might try that tonight.
