  • Same as rebel_26. I've see-sawed with my fitness. The first two times it was goals related. First was a family competition to see who could lose the most weight, second was for a 5K obstacle course run. Now, I just want to feel like I did when I was trying to be healthier. Less indigestion, more awake, better joint…
  • It really is funny, I wonder how many people feel like me on this. I'd like to just hop on a plane, go to some remote location and live out the rest of my days bumming it on a beach or staying in the mountains. I'm never going to retire...
  • I never thought about splitting my tracker into 6 hour blocks, and just logging it in the timeframe I eat it. That is one area I get stuck on, if my calories consumed from my waking to sleep matter, or the time I eat it at matters more. That could throw off my calories I need to eat for the next day if I consume most my…
  • Nope! I'm already using another site and it's tracking tool(LoseIt!....fantastic app, love their previous meals look-ups, they actually control their foods database as opposed to 27 different versions of an egg on this site, etc). The only reason I'm still using this one is a family member who's still using it, and I can…

  • I use a Garmin ForeRunner 305 :-). It's discontinued, big, bulky, but it does the job of accurately counting my calories and tracking my runs via GPS! I'm interested in switching to a FitBit after this one has run its course. I keep hearing good things about them.
  • 3 kids 11, 7, and 6. All monsters in there own way. Love em to death, my wife will probably kill them for real though! They drive her insane. :-)
  • I seem to remember this challenge on Saturdays...so here's Saturday's weigh-in! SW: 240.7 lbs CW: 233.7 lbs GW for April: 223.7 lbs UGW: 190 lbs 4/5: 232.4 lbs Woops. • Married 12 years this July.
  • *BUMP* I'd like to know if anyone has an actual number they use. On LiveStrong's website, they claim a 200+ lb person: A 200 lb person burns 726 calories while standing quietly for eight hours and 1,670 calories performing eight hours of office work while standing. One hour of casual walking burns 181 calories." Which I'd…
  • Listen to what Keepongoingnmw said! I was definitely like you EvetteM41 when I joined. I watched all my numbers like a hawk and didn't like it at ALL when I went over any of them by even 1. You may want to follow a structured plan to get started, but my opionion, and what is finally working for me, is to portion control…
  • SW: 240.7 lbs CW: 233.7 lbs GW for April: 223.7 lbs UGW: 190 lbs How do you plan to achieve your personal goal? Cleaning up my diet, I've seen some nice loss by simply cutting down on processed/added sugars and not caring much about natural sugars from fruits/vegetables etc. :drinker: P90X workouts well sort of...I don't…
  • White Rice made with coconut oil and beef stock Black beans with green chiles and a strip of bacon chopped Hot sauce Yum!!
  • Agnostic. I believe something's out there, but the current offerings just aren't swaying me to believe.
  • Yep, I definitely hear you on that. I was just joking around and pointing out the fact she never said how many margaritas were drank in those two nights....it could have been a binge! :-) But like I said I agree with you, even at 10 it won't make a difference, she couldn't possibly make that much weight on that.
  • Hmm....I don't know...lucky1ns said they had margaritas "2 nights this week"...which doesn't exactly say they had only one on those 2 nights! :-) Either way, I agree with everyone else, it's more than likely water weight and shouldn't concern you very much. For me, every time I weigh myself the day after I work out, I gain…
  • It's all in what you eat really, I do think it would be better to see their healthier meal options also, but just last night I found I had the calories to burn to get a baconator single, because of the way my day had went...so who knows?
  • oops forget it...thanks Mar_11 you posted that as I was typing this out!
  • There's actually a posting somewhere on this...I don't have it at the moment. But yes, you want to eat those calories. I'll find the article and be back in a sec....
  • Yay I'm still a bull! :) Sorry to everyone else who's signs have changed....but yea, I've never followed astrology predictions myself, I just like being a bull.
  • Congratulations, it's definitely motivating seeing people can get their goals using this!

  • Does your treadmill show you the calories burned? The good news is it doesn't matter what the activity is since you can manually enter in your calories burned if you know that number. The one problem I can think of is if your treadmill doesn't account for your weight, it may not be giving you an accurate number of calories…
  • Just sent a request also, trying to drop 40 pounds and live a little healthier.
  • That's interesting, my fitness trainer says it's all a myth. 8 oz of water won't do any more damage than drinking 4 or 100 oz. As long as when you go to the bathroom, if you're urine is semi-clear to clear you have enough water in your system.
  • Welcome! I hope you enjoy the community here, they're a rather lively bunch
