I haven't done WW but I did Slimming World and lost 3.5stone. But I started to feel accountable to THEM for losing weight and not to me. I now feel like I've taken control of my weight and my eating habits and I've stopped feeling guilty if I want to sometimes have a treat (and don't even mind logging it!). I'd say ditch…

LOL ^^^This. Every. single. day.

Cook without using a microwave? How does that make your food more expensive?
-
Modern dairy products are extremely processed? Maybe if you like cheese in a aerosol can!

Exactly the same re smaller portion tomorrow! It feels like the best meal of the day!

I have a big bowl of porridge every morning too and can't really see the problem with it. I see other people's diaries and they eat a slice of white toast with jam on for 150 calories and wonder a) what nutrients are in that and b) how on earth they manage to survive until lunchtime! I use skimmed milk, sometimes with some…

Excellent first post! :flowerforyou:

Agree with all of the above. Think it's worth trying to get it into perspective and remembering what your boobs are for - feeding your kids! I also think that genetics will play a part in whether they will shrink/ go saggy. But definitely building the muscle behind what are, essentially, bags of fat will help.

I still walked around the shop when I was gaining weight! In my opinion, don't log it unless it raises your heart rate for a sustained period. You're only kidding yourself. Especially if you are expecting to eat those "exercise" calories back! Edited to add that the heart rate thing is for cardio. Obviously different for…

Zucchini (UK = courgette) is great in pasta. I fry some onions and garlic then add lots and lots and lots of zucchini and let it sweat until it goes really really soft. Then I add a couple of anchovy fillets (canned) (yes, sounds weird but just adds a lovely savoury flavour) and mash it all together with a potato masher.…

I've got loads of MOLES on my face and body. So's my husband. So's my daughter. So's my garden.

So true! And it can be very demotivating! I don't have a scale at home. I weigh at work once a week.
-
I have a 4 year old daughter too - and yes, she is crazy, but it's easier to cope with now she's funny with it!

^^ This. Everything in moderation. Including moderation.

I think you look amazing as you are now! What a brilliant transformation!

Yep, that is what logging your food is all about - being aware of what and how much you are eating. Don't worry about calorie goals for now. Just get used to weighing and measuring how much you eat. Learn what a portion size is for the things you eat. As long as you are weighing and measuring, calorie counts are actually…

Why don't you just give in to your cravings once in a while? Do you find the cravings are just at certain times? Stress? TOM? You don't have to be 100% "good" 100% of the time to succeed.

Pork = good

Sounds like you're trying to talk yourself out of doing anything, to be honest. Someone said to me just before I joined MFP "in a year from now you'll wish you started today" and that was really useful and it keeps me going. Calorie counting IS useful if you are careful and as dilligent as possible with it. I also find it…

I'm on TOM and was craving cheerios last night. So I ate a big bowlful of them and then logged them. They didn't necessarily fit in with my macros but they fit into my calorie goal for the day and I was happy. Then today I get on with my life. Oh, so in answer to the OP (always forgetting that bit) I think that calorie…

Maybe MFP should look into the "advice" it gives on calorie goals. When people use their TDEE - 20% for example it usually seems to be higher and then people get confused. Just sayin'
-
I agree. But if you're pregnant and struggling to get enough nutrients for your growing baby (and you!) you should maybe talk to your doctor.
-
Very generally speaking, and I'm sure I'll be corrected if I'm wrong  Your BMR is the energy/calories your body needs if you are doing nothing all day i.e. in a coma (nice analogy I know!) Your TDEE is the calories you need to maintain your weight at your current weight at the activity level you have specified. To…

Weirdly, my friend is 6ft tall too! I'm sure lots of people will help you out with suggestions of good websites to try for workouts - there are hundreds of full workout videos on youtube (including 30 Day Shred) so you don't have to spend a penny or even step out of your front door! Have you worked out your BMR and TDEE?…

Hi! Not trying to be nosey but are you on medication for this? I have a friend with the same problem and had put on loads before she was diagnosed. She's been on medication for over a year and that alone seemed to help reverse her weight gain. She has now started an exercise routine and is back down to a healthy weight.

Well done! That's a brilliant NSV and would really spur me on to continue! Great result!

Easy - be British.

Sounds like you got the best of both worlds - you should be happy! What on earth did you do when you were single? You don't need a man constantly at your side/ on you (ahem) to be happy you know!
