I see. However, this is the "gaining weight" forum, you know, with hints and tips on how to like, totally gain weight - thats like, the opposite of lose weight. See?

Its OK, I don't think anyone thinks for one second that these people are being bullied in the true sense of the word, they are just butthurt because we aint buying what they are selling.

I really really thought that it was going to be, and actually it was harder coming off my cut - I went down to 1900 which I know now was far too low and moving to maintenance, once I got there, I just kind of picked up speed. I like eating....oh, and beer. :drinker:
-
Seeing as I'm a feller, I might therefore go for 20lbs or something. Thankfully, I made new holes in my belt (tight fisted, I know...) as I got smaller as opposed to buying a new, smaller belt.... I could just live in sweatpants, I know thats a good look... It certainly feels like I have made muscle gains along…

Except that insulin is anabolic and you want to repeatedly spike your insulin to build muscle....I think you will find that bodybuilders on gear also often take insulin for this very reason.

A banana.

So; when you come to the end of a bulk and start cutting again, you just knock the calories down to a deficit? I had 'walked up' to bulking from my cut, and was wondering if I should 'walk back down' at the end.
-
Thankyou both! :drinker: How long should I continue with that programme? Will it still be good when I start to cut again/when Rugby season finishes? I look forward to beginning the new routine asap. Your time is much appreciated!

Where are the carbs? Eat the carbs.

Biology doesn't work in absolutes anyway, 1-6 reps = strength gains over hypertrophy - you would find hypertrophy increasing until at somewhere around 8 reps it is predominant although strength gains will still be occuring...both will continue to decrease towards 12 reps where endurance will take over, but they will still…

God, I'm annoying.

This is basically optimal foraging theory - it is evolutionarily advantageous to gain the most energy for the least effort.
-
Three words: Optimal Foraging Theory.

I think I just about maintain, depending on how active a week I have had work-wise on that number. I wouldn't worry, keep upping your calories until you gain - you'll get used to the eating.

Another vote for the Breakfast Club...

DOELB? Do you even acronym, bro?

Bump because I'm annoying. Also: I appear to be quite good at this eating milarkey. I was 176lbs this morning - will weigh again tomorrow to confirm and update my tracker.

Back when we used to have pigs, I made a mean bacon. Cured it with dry salt and treacle to make a kind of paste, then smoked it after (the cure was washed off by then) - was kind of black on the outside and really sweet... nom.

It looks like what is happening is that your BF% is lowering, plus your muscles will retain water/glycogen from lifting. As your bodyfat% lowers you will see your muscles more. I think you look great and all your effort in the gym is paying off big time - but you must do what you feel comfortable with. It takes a long time…

I lost weight quite happily having 4 pints on a friday night.
-
Also: Paleothic people ate diets that were restricted by geography. I find it funny that as a Northern European, on paleo I could eat bananas, tomatoes, peppers...all of which have been in our diet for 2 generations max but not peas, which have been in our diet for god knows how long (and even longer than that when you…

I'll chime in with another "Battery" Metalica. And whilst you have Master of Puppets on, you might as well have "Damage inc"

Depends why you want them on here - I thought the app was a good idea for a friend of my wifes 16yr old son who wants to gain weight healthily. Was disappointed to learn that the site os 18+ since I have never seen anything on here which, were it on TV would have to be put on post watershed (for non Brits - the watershed…

US pints are smaller than British ones. Hence the British rhyme: "a pint of water weighs a pound and a quarter" Its US equivalent is something about a pint of water weighing a pound, but I forget it cos I'm not American.
-
Ha! You clearly haven't met the same Spaniards as me then. 3 pints is perfectly acceptable - this isn't the puritan forum, you can keep yer temperance thanks. I went from 18st to the 12 I weigh now drinking a darn sight more than that. Admittedly, I am far from sedentary (farmer) and I do a lot of sports, but as long as…

Its about the only suppliment I take (cod liver oil aside, but I wouldn't say that was fitness related). I dont really think the timing is supposed to matter and like you, I didn't pre-load. I took it to aid recovery time and it seemed to be doing the job. My (bulking) pre workout is a banana Post work out: 300ml skimmed…

1) Yes, there is a leg press machine at my gym - I think it goes up to a couple of hundred pounds. 2) No, I have no objections whatsoever to doing full body three times a week.

Cheers guys, much appreciated. :drinker:

Or just eat cake. You can add in whey protein to most cake recipes if you feel you need proteiny cake.
