It took me about 6-9 months to lose the 30 I wanted to lose. It's easier when you have more to lose--it was harder for me b/c I didn't have as much to lose, so it went slower.

Wall pushups or tricep dips can be done keeping an eye on kids. And, of course, depending on the age of the children, you could pick them up and put them down.

It's a train wreck but I can't look away

I love my corgi. He's 12 and still full of energy. Great with kids (though a barker, which is either just a corgi thing or our fault for spoiling him). Incredibly smart, too (maybe a little too smart, lol). He used to be an escape artist but has calmed down since we had him fixed a couple years ago (I know, I know, I…

Diet soda doesn't have any carbs, and while it may have these other effects in some people, it is certainly not across the board. I, for example, drink several per day, and have for years, and have experienced none of these side effects.

Might as well count it. It's more water than anything else--if, for example, you were stranded on a desert island with nothing but soda, you would not die of dehydration (so the 'caffeine dehydrates you' argument is out). It's probably not as good for you (ok, definitely not) as pure water, but I think it still counts.

Smart Ones are decent. Healthy Choice steamers are pretty good, though I confess I haven't tried their other varieties. I usually get the pasta-y ones. I find that I end up adding salt (usually garlic salt), or pepper, or whatever, to most of them. They supposedly have alot of sodium (which, whatever, have an extra glass…

Trying to get back into the swing of things myself (as I write this, I'm sitting here, sports-bra'd up, DVD in, willing myself to hit play (and clearly screwing around online instead)). Good luck, if you come up with any tips for getting back into it let me know!

i do it bedtime to bedtime, figuring thats when my body 'resets'.

Sleep helps some. If anyone has anything more effective let me know

If it matters, I turn 30 in a month. Idk, I'm just worried I'm too old/fat for such things. Can a 30 year old wear a minidress? I'm terrible at being a girl, I'm honestly asking, I'm not trolling, I really don't know. Thanks in advance for your help....

Hahaha, well, it has an open back, and my friend's husband said it was too short, so I wasn't sure. Those of you who like the shoes, they are Jessica Simpson and seriously SOOOO comfortable, I got them at Marshall's for $40 and they are about the best investment ever. I recommend everyone get a pair cause they go with…

I was going to post the start for the October challenge but couldn't figure out how to make a private group. So, Sara Jane, I am relying on you. Just FYI. I have lofty goals for October that include, you know, doing things, so hopefully some of you will join me/hold me to it.

I heart wine. Red, for sure. White doesn't have the depth or complexity of flavor that red does--I like a wine that kicks my *kitten* a bit. I want strong and bold, not smooth and easy. I like spanish, chilean, or argentinian wines these days, but you can't go wrong with a good cab sauv or malbec. I welcome…

If you're unhappy about the sodium, just don't eat there. Clearly Panera is doing pretty well for itself with the recipes they are currently using--why would they change them? They put the information out there, it's up to you whether to eat there.

Do what you want in the right lane, but if you're in the left lane, and you have cars behind you, you're in the way. You're just being a **** if you're holding up other people. Move over--they shouldn't have to pass on the right because you have no sense of etiquette or common courtesy on the road. (I have a 1.5 hour…

Caps and Bruins!!!!! SO excited

Aaaaand way up. 132.5 (ok like a lb up. but still, wrong direction damnit!)--several factors (work, being a girl and diabetes) have conspired to make this week or two about the worst ever, diet-wise. AND my jerk coworker ****-blocked me from my cheetos, so I was forced to compensate with about 4 mini brownies yesterday. So…

lately, anything, lol. Mostly carb-y stuff, pasta, bread, etc. and cheese. Ice cream.

132 today. Down 1.5 (I think?). No exercise at all though. Ugh.

Lamb, by Christopher Moore, had me falling off the couch laughing. About 200ish pages (not sure if that will last the flight or not) but well worth it. Unless you are seriously religious, in which case you will likely be offended, as it is very irreverent. Also, the Sigma Force series by James Rollins is a real page…

Nope, I have been absolutely terrible this week--zero exercise and over cals pretty much every day. This month sucks for me, but if you guys want to do another one in Oct, I plan to rock Oct (with or without you all, but I always prefer with!). I refuse to turn 30 until I reach my goals, which gives me 2 months to get my…
