  • Welcome mate! And here's to achieving the beach bod we all want! Good luck and keep pushing towards those goals!
  • I agree but not everyone has access to hydrostatic testing or a person that is trained to use callipers accurately; it's better than nothing. When I was in the military we used to use the tape measurement method and it turned out to be accurate within 3 - 5 percent; when compared to callipers.
  • It may not be 100% accurate but whatever method you use ensure that you recreate the same conditions for each weigh in and use it as a guide line.
  • Check out this site http://www.linear-software.com/online.html if you scroll down it has the BF% categories for both women and men
  • For tracking my calories burnt I used to rely on what the equipment told me but they are using generic formulas and don't take into consideration weight, body composition, fitness level etc. What I now use is my heart rate monitor as I can feed in personal stats such as age, weight, height, body fat % etc; I believe this…

  • To borrow a phrase from Wayne and Garth.... Schwing! You look great; go for it!
  • I've never followed the BMI scale; whenever I've trained I've always used body fat percentage to gauge my level of success. To be honest I personally believe that when you reach a certain weight it's best to start using body fat percentage, tape measurements and whether or not you can get back into those jeans you've been…
  • Now there's a great motivator!!! Best of luck with your endeavour and here's to a proud bikini wearing success story!
  • Hi there! From one newbie to another.... Welcome!
  • There are a number of different schools of thought with regards to whether one should or shouldn't do fasted cardio upon waking. I could write a long list of pros and cons with regards to fasted cardio but from past experience I find that doing fasted endurance cardio works for me and, possibly more importantly, I enjoy…
  • I have three meals: Breakfast between 07:00 > 08:00, Lunch any time between 12:00 > 13:00 and Dinner around 18:00. Then I also have three snacks around 10:00, 15:00 and 20:00. Whilst I do use protein shakes/smoothies I do try to stay clear of them. When I'm having fruit in the morning I would rather have whole berries,…
  • Cheers folks; thanks for the warm welcome!
