I can honestly say that I feel exactly like you, to the point of tears out of shear frustration. I don't have answer for you , but definitely some real sympathy.

The mental stress of this is All but killing me. And maybe More so the stress of trying to keep up/increase my fitness in my already way busy life. I get it. I think we all feel this way. Most of us, anyway.

I "gained" 6 lbs in a week . It's impossible unless I've literally had an excess of 21,000 calories. I know it's partly PMS and partly from me getting into new muscle strengthening exercises (muscle water retention)

Just made this last week! It's a regular in my recipes. My kids love it , too. It's really, really good and ridiculously easy/fast! It would probably be good with some cous cous. Black beans also. Mmmmm.

If you're still young, it will be in your favor. If you work on lifting during your journey, it will also be in your favor. Also in your favor is a slow weight loss. My skin is definitely not elastic as evidenced by my Majorly stretch marked abdomen (had twins) and family history. I lost 102 lbs and I'm very thankful to…

I go by (on a woman) the most narrow part of the hourglass part of the abdomen (by looking front at the person) . If you've ever had a baby or been overweight, the belly button probably isn't the best marker!

Every day, in some form. At of the time though I will have just a small bite of someone else's treat here and there, haha . 99% of the time it's my kids treats
-
You don't allow yourself to enjoy a nice piece of bread every now and then? Like special event? Birthday, etc. ? Personally that's what I love about maintenance. I know how to fit those treats in. But I understand that sometimes it's REALLY hard, once you "break the seal" to have a modest portion of stuff like that!

So are milk-drinkers like a cult, or what?

Summer is harder because my exercise is 80% running and living in FL with the searing heat and humidity has made my runs shorter. And the kids are out of school and keep me very busy.

A FBG of 90 is still in normal range. Worry when it's not. You're doing everything within your power to reduce your risk for diabetes. Your genetics are completely out of your control, and you're going to have to let go of that. Keep your weight in normal range with regular exercise and that's it. Cortisol is known to…

This depends a lot on where you live! I'm in FL. My runs are shorter now and only going just before sunset. The kids are out of school, so on my days off I don't have my morning runs that I'm used to the rest of the year. The food thing doesn't bother me. I'm not a big fan of potato salad, hot dogs and hamburgers anyway…

Yea...in absolutely NO way can you blame the actual care provider for that one.

I enjoyed reading all of this! Your face looks so healthy and happy in your most recent pictures :)

it makes you a LOT happier of a person. And then, only those who truly deserve to be in your life will make it there and stay there.

I'm stuck on a 6 year old saying something's "scandalous" :D It's sad though that even a child that young receives that kind of message. Our only hope is to lead by example.

My cardio is 90% running, so I don't do any kinda of strength on days that I run. If I was doing weights the same day as cardio, it would be upper body lifting only. I'd never do leg strength and then cardio; my muscles would be way too fatigued and that would lead to poor performance and injury.

Also, low-carb isn't the focus; it should be regular exercise and healthy body fat % (lack of abdominal obesity is the ultimate goal).

Only when it comes to type 1. - Genetics will win regardless of any lifestyle management with that one. As @robininfl pointed out, it's largely lifestyle-dependent, something that's strongly passed down from our parents by learned-by-exampled type thing. I think if you are genetically predisposed to have Type 2, then you…

Good thing the HIV is a virus!

I love those things. And they're like 50¢

There's nothing you can do about it. Que será, será! I went from 235 to 133 currently. They're like deflated balls. I used to be a 42 DD and now I'm a 34 A. I cannot wear a strapless bra and there's no fill even to the expensive push-up bras. Only surgery can restore them to their former glory. I'm okay with it; it's worth…

Isn't it true that the body is constantly temporarily storing fuel in the form of fat then destroying it for use as energy when needed? Therefore even these temporary instant supposed fat Storages won't cause actual weight gain if there is and end product of energy balance?

The problem is that you should only eat like a lumberjack or marine If you actually are as physically active as one of them. People these days are not! (Or they are but only for periods of their life then don't adjust)

So true. & the expectation put out by the media and perpetuated by women is unattainable. My 7 year old daughter pointed out to Me today "mommy, your workout pants are on inside out" after I got back from a fitness and yoga class at the gym. I said, "honey, that's okay. I don't care." She said "that's cause you don't care…

It's not the exercise itself but the feeling of empowerment, control, fulfillment and self-confidence from achievement that exercise provides that continues to keep me off of meds.

Food is love, cherished memories, communal enjoyment...it's so many things and so many reasons why it is a good, positive thing. It is not negative but what is negative is people's tendency to stuff themselves, have a lack of balance and overall sedentary life that doesn't balance out those calories. My children can eat…

Because the older we get, chances of CPR being a. Successful and most importantly b. Returning to quality of life had before rapidly diminish. I am not saying I don't want to live past 70. I hope I live a long prosperous life.

Don't forget the cookouts! Everybody's bringing something for the grill or some side or dessert , it's ridiculous to try to get everyone on the same page about bringing better choices.
