Any swimmers out there?
Recently had to give up my beloved running after my tibia was shattered in an incident at work. I have a titanium rod and screws now. I won't be running or doing anything similarly stressful on my legs again until next year some time, so I recently switched to swimming. I found a few websites with lap swimming routines,…

For the females doing Stronglifts
Does anyone have any pointers for getting better at bench press? I feel like I am doing decent with the 5x5 regimen of all of the other lifts (except the 1x5 of deadlift, obviously) but I am majorly struggling with the bench press. Today I was supposed to do 100 lbs and I could do 5,3,4,3,3 and on the 4th attempt for the…

Confessions of a Maintainer
Here, I'll start: Confession: I'm still obsessed with food just as much as I was 101 lbs ago.

Weekly Calories
For those who maintain & don't have your calories set at TDEE, how many calories per week are you under?

Evening Exercise Affecting Sleep
Ugh. Why do I live in Florida again? This summer heat is forcing all of my runs to be in the evening around or after 7:30 PM. I feel great after, as usual, but I find I can't get to sleep afterward! I doubt I'll ever bring myself to do it in the early AM , and treadmill running is just the pits, man. I'm sure there are…

Florida Heat!
Lifelong Floridian here - still don't tolerate the heat too well. Even in the morning and evening, it's getting unbearable. And I am not a fan of the treadmill. So, I guess I'm wondering how to beat the heat? I run average 10-20 miles per week, only on my 3 days off of worsk as I work 12 hr shifts x4 days per week and have…

Which is Preferable?
For experienced maintainers, which is better: Using TDEE which takes into account overall weekly exercise to calculate daily calorie need or the MFP daily need which doesn't calculate exercise and then to "eat those back"?

Is your BMI "normal" now?
Well, is it?. There's more to being healthy than the BMI number which only takes into account two factors: height and weight. After losing 91 lbs, (5'3 Female) I'm at 144ish and I keep feeling sort of guilty for going to maint and not seeing to it that I get to a "normal" BMI (which would be 140 lbs at the high end) but I…

Garmin Connect
Anyone using Garmin Connect synced to MFP? Specifically, I have a Forerunner with the HR strap. It's for running but can be used for any activity using the HR monitor and the calorie burn is based on that. Anyway, I did a cardio kickboxing class today for an hour and burned 471 cals; my status feed says I ran for x amt of…

Garmin Vivofit vs. Fitbit Charge HR
Can anyone give me their reviews on these/which may be better? I need to be able to find out my HR during cardio (a lot of running and other cardio) workouts and a big plus would be tracking distance on a run (eliminates need for a separate app). I don't really care about tracking my steps.

Did You Lower Your Standards?
Hello. I've lost 80 lbs in the past 16 months. I'm 5'3 and weigh 155 currently. I've put on a good amt of muscle esp in my arms and legs, and I'm told I look more like 130. I can wear a size 8 and in scrubs I can wear a small. My goal has always been 145 (still "overweight" by BMI) and I am going to get a tummy tuck next…

Energy level when At Maintenance
I'm 13 lbs away from my goal weight (which would be 90 lbs total). I've been having issues with energy levels (even though the weight loss has slowed down) being very poor. I'm wondering if from experience anyone can say that their energy picked up after going into Maintenance? I think my body is tired of the 15 month…

Stalling-sudden-drop phenomenon
So, I've been losing since 11 months ago. I've lost 55lbs so far (equals out to 1.25lbs a week) which, for the first 6 months was pretty steady and predictable. However, my loss since then has been something like this: stall at same weight for up to a month then sudden loss of 3 lbs in a day or two. Lose a couple more lb…
