  • Huh? Why would logic say 1700 is not maintence? I’ve only been eating it for a day
  • I told ya this might happen. Reset....If your TDEE is supposedly 1900 and you aren't losing at 1600 you're eating too few calories or your metabolism may be off track.
  • I'm not a RD but I've taken nutrition courses. 2000 is recommended for a woman. Although yes, each individual's TDEE is different. I'm a 150lb 5' 5" 24 year old lightly active girl and mine is 1900. Maintaining at 1350 is very difficult to be healthy unless you have no discretionary calories. I would talk to your doctor or…
  • Wow. Lots of post saying the same thing here but I need to reiterate. I've lost weight 3 times eating 1200 calories...what does that tell you? Sure it works. But you can't eat 1200 calories forever. It screws your metabolism and puts you on an unhealthy yoyo dieting cycle. You feel full after a long time eating 1200…
  • !!! I hope those that tested your %body fat told you that women need 17% to be able to maintain a healthy functioning body. Please don't be trying to lose more weight!
  • Okay that makes more sense. Good luck! Try 1760 :]
  • Is that with or without a cut?
  • Same every day. May I ask where you're getting the 1700 from? Did you use a TDEE calculator?
  • Have you done a reset? Your calories may be too LOW!
  • Confusing isn't it? I'm not sure what you know and don't know so I'll break it down a bit: If you work out three times a week and burn 700 calories a week...then your TDEE isn't your BMR plus 100 calories a day [Example]. Meaning your TDEE isn't your BMR plus exercise. When you put in your activity level [sedentary,…
  • People are skinny and starving all over the world. Yet we starve and get fat...and eat and get fat. Oh America. When did we get so lost?
  • Hi everyone. Looking for a little support here. I eat between 1200-1400 calories a day usually [for years pretty much] because I thought that's what I had to eat to lose/maintain weight. I ate 1500 calories yesterday and gained 2lbs. Can anybody comment on how much they gained before they began losing? Everybody says to…
  • Wow. So empowering seeing everyone's progress. I eat between 1200-1400 calories a day usually [for years pretty much] because I thought that's what I had to eat to lose/maintain weight. • http://eatmore2weighless.com ---I'm new to all this too and it's definately overwhelming the amount of info out there. They also have a mfp group called "eat more to weigh less" with a lot of forums on the topic. The high calorie way to lose weight is to eat your TDEE [look it up-it calculates what you burn in a day] for a…
  • holly-I have a similar journey [don't we all]. I ate like a pig throughout high school and maintained a steady healthy weight [135] for the most part. Once or twice I had an eating disorder and got down to extremely low weights but once the novelty of thin passed I went back to eating again. I moved away and got depressed…
  • I'm 26percent body fat :/ I didn't think that was that bad...
  • Well let me rephrase. I could care less about the weight number- i have a scale that measures body fat and muscle percentage. If I can muscle and lose fat and inches thats A-ok with me. I currently am doing cardio 1x a week and strength 1x a week. I'm too busy and tired to do anymore. With finals next week I'll have a bit…
  • Oh golly. I only want to lose ten pounds, I really don't want to gain weight :/
  • Both! Slow and fast. Every time I come off a diet and eat like a regular person [even if it's below 1700 calories] I gain like 5 pounds quickly and then whatever I've lost slowly. The most I've ever weighed is 152 and the lowest is 125, but I lose 15 and gain 15 all the time. The past year I didn't really watch my calories…
  • My BMR is 1476
  • Good for you! 36lbs is huge. Since this post I've found the spike diet. Its a whole diet preaching what we're doing. The only thing is that they want you to do double your RMR (amount of calories you burn in a day doing nothing) on your cheat day. That's 2800 calories for me, ahhh!
  • I've been eating low cal [1200] and one cheat day for a few weeks now. I was doing some research and just realized that it's an actual diet! So I'm going to modify my eating for Spike to 1200 3 days with cardio, 1400 [BMR] 3 days with light strength and a rest day that I'll do my best to hit 2800. Because I can't do 500…
