That's really cool! Thanks for posting.

In my opinion, the ideal diet is whatever works for you. Personally, I follow a plant based diet and avoid processed food as much as possible. I do like good fresh bread though. Also, fresh baked cookies with my coffee. In the three years I've been vegan, or whatever, I feel great. My energy level is up. I get tired less…

Yes. I appreciate everyone's support. THANK YOU!

I have a Tanita. Really bought it because it had a better display than the regular scale next to it. Sure it costs more but then I would have had to go to another store to buy a scale. As far as accuracy, I've heard they're +/- 2%. I had my body fat done at the gym with calipers and the scale agreed. So that's my…

Very likely this is what happened. Your pants are looser due to fat loss. If your overall weight is stable then it's probably lost fat. There are ways to measure body fat percentage and maybe your gym can help. Just as a reference point, athletes can weigh 200 + lbs. and still have little body fat. So it's not always about…

Food police need a punch in the face. Then they can focus on their broken noses instead of minding other people's business.

Great ideas! As some people have noted, sauces are good. I do that and I feel like a brilliant chef. I've been vegan for three years and find it a lot easier than dealing with meat. One tip I would like to add is check out Vegetarian Times magazine. This month they are highlighting 5 ingredient chili recipes. They take 30…

This is awesome! How were you able to post the photo? I've tried to do that and haven't figured it out yet. Thanks!

Welcome to the group.

Second that. It's just being scientific and consistent. For example if you weigh yourself before and after a workout you will weigh less after. This is especially true after running. So to measure your progress each week, do it the same time of day each time and you'll be able to properly track your progress.

Sure. It happens and that's life. Tomorrow we lace up and play again.

Rude to cu$tomer$? She won't last long.

Yup. And I won't lie, it's great and I like it

Black, no sugar. It tastes better that way.

Body weight workouts are great. I would also recommend getting a pullup bar. They usually run $20 - $30 and are well worth it. If you do get one, consider getting straps to do things like hanging leg raises and other core exercises. I think I paid $12 - $15 for mine. Also, you can use a chair to do tricep dips or put two…

I get the raw almonds at Trader Joe's. Sometimes I eat them as is - about a handfull. Other times I'll add a little cinnamon and / or honey. Got to watch the honey though because I'm combining two calorie dense foods. It's so good though.

One way to think of your body is like a car. If you keep putting gas (calories) in, without driving then you need to store it somewhere. Ina car you can carry extra cans in your back seat and trunk. On your body, you carry extra calories in your back seat and trunk. So keeping track of what goes in and what goes out by…

Congrats! Also it's great to see another Rudy here! Long Live The Two Tone Army!

The best way to put it is that muscle is denser than fat like iron is denser than jelly. Iron looks better too. This is why an athlete like Randy Moss can weigh 200 lbs. and be lean & ripped at less than 10% bodyfat while an average person can also weigh 200 lbs. and be at 25% bodyfat.

So a 100 calorie apple made by God, Mother Nature, Earth, Sun, whoever, whatever you believe in is better than a 100 calorie snack pack made on a factory assembly line? Who knew?
-
Exactly. Which is why I don't worry about sugar. Also, when you eat it in fruit, you get a sustained level than if you had it in bread, cookies, pasta or anything processed because of the fiber in fruit. Therefore you don't have the spike / crash syndrome happening. It's the crash that makes you hungry again causing you to…

I had the same reaction. I do find it interesting that certain animals are considered food while others are considered non-edible, even when I ate meat. The solution to all that is eat plants and stay away from processed packaged food. Then you know what you're eating.

Thanks for the insight. I juice regularly, especially greens, and didn't know that.

Check out your local branch and see if you like it. Does it have the equipment, classes, amenities, hours, and location that you like? Is the staff friendly, helpful and supportive? Is the place clean? I used to belong to PF years ago because they had one gym next to my job and another near my home. I was convenient and…

You rock! Seriously, now you are a rock. Congrats.

Not really sure how to avoid them. You may not want to run until you heal and I say this from experience. Don't make things worse now because you'll pay for it later. If it hurts, stop.

Salt in and of itself is not bad. In fact it's even present in raw plants. It's an electrolyte. The problem with sodium is that it's in so many processed foods as a taste additive and to extend shelf life and to preserve food. So the less you eat processed food, the less sodium you'll eat but you will still ingest some.…
