Yoga and working out. Try restorative yoga.

Five years ago, I was in great shape! Slimmed down and looked nice & chiseled. It was great! Then... things changed at work, long hours, stress, you know the deal. I’ve managed to control that and now the trick is to better manage my workout time. Sometimes work burns me out and my tank is empty. Yoga has helped that. So…

Nevermind what other people say and do your own thing. Even vegans can be critical of each other regarding the extent of non-animal products. Specifically, I’m thinking of dairy. Many people give up meat and continue to eat cheese, yogurt and ice cream. Personally, I congratulate and encourage any progress people make.

Count me in! My 10 year Vegiversary is in May.

Mmm... looks tasty!

Rock-Paper-Scissors. Mirror beats BMI.

I'm an ex-runner (injuries) and love walking. I miss the speed of running but walking allows me to notice my environment more which I like.

I never thought I'd give up meat, but here I am 5 1/2 years later and still meat free. It was easy for me as some friends and family already made the jump in various ways. Mostly, people ask "the protein" question. No biggie. Other times, people are curious as to how I do it. What it comes down to is that if people leave…

I have this on my real wall, "If you want something bad enough, you will find a way. If you don't, you will find an excuse." In full disclosure, I'm human and don't follow this 100% of the time. But, I do try to keep it and my goals in mind.

Great achievement. Thanks for sharing your advice.

Began Day 1 yesterday. I'm on my way!

This is a must do. Thank you for the inspiration!

I like mine black, no sugar. I drink two, sometimes three cups, mugs, per day. Usually two. I'm never giving it up.

To look like Ahnold Claus! Ok, maybe that's a little out of reach. Seriously, I want to be in killer shape so when the holidaze are over, I'm not making some kind of resolution to loose weight or get in shape. I will already be there. POWER UP!

I don't eat anything heavy before my workout. Sometimes I will have something up to an hour before but it's usually juice to keep my blood sugar up if it's been a long day. Water throughout the day always keeps me fresh and ready to go by the time my workout comes around.

0: Are you are strict vegan, ethical vegan, or strict vegetarian, or other? Vegan. No animal products. 1. How has your health changed since your transition into veganism? Has it improved? Lost weight. Body fat percent down. Can see abs coming through. Never got sick before but did make it through winter without even a…

This is awesome! I do have to add that I'm a veggie and haven't eaten meat in three years. Maybe people know or figured that out. Just didn't want to influence any answers. I have no probs with people liking bacon. Just wanted to know why and didn't want people to think I'm fakin'.

Very good point!

We are made from mostly water. It aids in most of our biological functions such as food absorption, waste elimination, air conditioning (sweat). Every physical fitness, athletic and health site, book, magazine, I've seen recommends drinking enough water. My experience is that I drink it constantly all day long. When I'm…

Weekends can be tough. Sometimes good. Sometimes off the plan. I try not to get too upset about it and let it go. What's done is done and tomorrow is another day.

This is kind of interesting. I stay away from fried greasy food because it upsets my stomach. I don't miss it at all. So I never ate a lot of it. It also made my face oily. Definitely not desirable. Anyway, I went vegan three years ago and never looked back. I feel clean, clear and great! Not preaching here, just relating…

I think about things like this when it seems the chips are down. It puts things in perspective. Also, very nice that you made the effort to help that woman. We're all in this together and it's good when we help each other.

Saw this while eating desert: A few nuts with just a little honey, and some cinnamon. Just be careful with the nuts because they are calorie dense and honey is basically sugar. For chocolate you could use unsweetened cocoa powder which I've also done.

They do. Log everything as you normally do. Best thing, on my calorie allotment anyway, is that I eat fruits and veggies without thinking about their calorie count. Makes my life easy.

Second this one. Just because certain foods are advertised for specific meals doesn't mean we have to eat them that way. Fruit & yogurt are a good choice because you're getting energy, protein, vitamins, enzymes, lots of good stuff. And I say this as someone who does not like eggs and will not eat them.

I give honest support. I do give props when things are good and encouragement when they are not. I just try to help people back up. I'd never tell people "great job" if it's not deserved. I do tell people that tomorrow is another day and encourage them to kick butt. As for me, I don't publish my diary.

I think it's really all about people taking up more than one space. If two spaces are used then the airline has a right to charge one person for those two spaces. It's really sad that this happens too. What's going on with us humans? We seem to be devolving instead of evolving.

What works for me is not focusing on the speed. It's about the ultimate goal. Whatever it takes, however long it takes, I will do it. That's really what keeps me going. That & the awesome support of everyone here on MFP :) Right now, I'm down 10 lbs. since the first week January. My parameters are setup to the default 1…

And you should enjoy your workout. Not everyone is into everything. It's good that you change things. Try playing a sport you like. Meetup.com may have games and events where you live. It really is about doing something you like because that will keep you motivated. To answer your other question, yes I do have my ups and…
