  • Hello all, I'm in Portsmouth :) Any new friends would be welcome!
  • I like adding little kicks of flavour like capers or a couple of chopped sun dried tomatoes - it really seems to pep my lettuce/pepper/cucumber combo up whilst adding very few calories. I tend to mix up the protein - I'm a fan of tinned mackerel, although I know not everyone is, and you can get some really nice flavours in…
  • I don't really get lazy - like a lot of other people I actually find the exercise helps - but I do get dreadful cravings the week before and usually end up going over cal target - although it's by relatively small amounts most days, with extra little treats, they do add up! So I guess it has the same effect!
  • I love it when that happens! It never used to when I first started so it makes me feel like there's definite progress :)
  • PS - I am a clinical laboratory scientist - can attempt to give you some idiot's guide numbers but it depends on where you live as the US expresses results of cholesterol (and most other lab tests) in different units to most of the rest of the world!
  • My food diary also shows very little cholesterol - I think it is because (at least on UK food labels) it's not actually listed separately for the most part, which means that it doesn't get logged on MFP. Same with some of the vitamins. I wouldn't worry too much about it - you will be making enough to do all the things in…
  • I think it's OK to have the odd treat even if you go over your calorie goal by a small amount - as long as you know it will slow you down a bit. I have my weight loss goal set at 2lb a week loss but don't really mind if some weeks I end up losing 1lb; I am changing my habits a little bit at a time after years of comfort…
  • I haven't been tracking weight long enough to know if this'll happen every month, but this month I weighed in the same the week before, up a lb the week of and 5lb down the week after! So mine seems to be really annoyingly long, although my pill makes me irregular. I had a few cheat days out of frustration but I'm really…
  • Well done on stopping smoking though - still sounds like a step in the right direction to me!
  • Yes! I lost 2 stone over the course of a few months a couple of years ago, then back on it all went when I moved house and dropped into bad cooking and eating habits because, I guess it's most easily described as life was getting me down. I think my mojo came back when I felt better about myself again - I apologise as…
  • My normal weigh-in day's today and I have lost LOADS after a flat week then a gain week (think due to ToM, I believe the scales as I've also had to add a belt to my normal work trousers) - so I'm pretty darn pleased with myself! Hope everyone else is going well x
  • I've lost a few pounds, am just over 250 now and also 5'7''. I've put my goal at 154-ish - I think that was based on BMI but I'm going to see how it goes as I have plenty of muscle already as well as the fat, am honestly big boned (!) and I don't want to look emaciated - I like my curves and I want to keep them even when I…
  • I do this too, all the time! I've found that getting out of the house and having a little wander (away from the kitchen) really helps, either that or having a sugary tea or two - sometimes I go over cals with the sugar but I think it's better to do that than to munch on cheese or choccies!
  • I'm in Portsmouth and always looking for new active friends... makes this so much easier! Anyone else: feel free to add me too
  • I'm really annoyed - I GAINED a pound! I know it's probably normal fluctuation etc and it is time of month, but still, not impressed! Let's hope for a better result next week :)

  • My friend brought some TimTams over when she visited last year and I loved them. I'm glad she didn't bring peanut butter ones as I think I would be constantly emailing her and asking her to ship some over!
  • I forgot to give you my BMI in the first post I did which is (eek) 39.7. Thanks ever so much for all your work on this, I think it's a brilliant idea! Also: happy birthday
  • This is a brilliant idea, I've got a long way to go after Christmas but this will be a great start! s/w 253 g/w 223 Thanks very much for arranging this one!
  • I've only just started back losing weight again and it's great to see so many people on my wavelength! I'm not so much into gaming but I am a total bookworm, I love anime/manga, sci-fi, and anything that takes my head somewhere different and cool. I also work in a real life hospital laboratory so my other main geekiness is…
  • Hi, I'm UK-based too, have only just got back into getting slimmer again and would love to see a friendly face or two when I log on! I've added you. ANyone else: please add me! Sophy
