Monday check-in: Body is aching from all that walking yesterday... supposed to do more jogging today but not sure if I'm up to it. Also, school starts in a week and I never feel prepared. Starting to stress out big time as I always do. Which means I don't eat. Then I binge later in the day - not good...

Sunday Share - as I mentioned earlier this week I'm reading up on a bunch of different types of dieting and watching various food documentaries, trying to figure out what's best for our family eating. I really want this to be a lifestyle change and not just a temporary thing. In more "fun" news, I've convinced 3 of my…

Hey folks! Naceto and Susan, thank you for the encouragement. And yes, it's great to have my 11 year-old "cheerleader" motivating me to exercise. He times my run/walk intervals for me, and runs circles around me while I do my super-slow jogging! Lamypie - hey I just jogged for the first time in a very long time too!! I've…

I am also in love with Jay. Even though I'm old enough to be his mom... oops.

Friday Fitness - my 11 year-old son has been nagging me to use my crazy expensive new running shoes and this morning I finally did! Went out with him and did (slow) jog/walk intervals until I was winded. Didn't take long unfortunately, but I have to remember that I'm a lot heavier than I was last time I ran. Can't wait to…

Thanks Robin for your support, and congrats on your loss! I know it's after 12, but I'm still going with my Thursday truth (after all it's only 10 on the west coast!): Right now I am just counting calories, but I know I need to eat better food and less garbage. In particular, I need to stop drinking so much sweetened iced…

Wednesday Wish - I am so tired of being anxious and depressed all the time. I have a great life and family but I'm always feeling miserable. I've been on meds for a long time and I recognize that the fact that I have a stable mood and I'm not feeling suicidal are great things, but sometimes I just wish I could relax and be…

I'm super excited that as of yesterday I've lost 5% of my body weight! My Tuesday goal is to keep the momentum going. I typically get stuck around 15 pounds and I really need to push through that this time. Thanks for all your encouraging posts - I love hearing about everyone's victories of all sorts! ~Michelle

Hope everyone is having a great weekend! It's lovely weather here so we went to a nearby street festival. I had some amazing bruschetta bread which I believe was quite healthy in terms of ingredients. Sunday Share: My name is Michelle, I'm 41 and I'm a teacher. I have 2 more weeks before getting back to school for the…

Don't seem to be having too much success this weekend. Went out last night for our early anniversary dinner. I was good and didn't order dessert but they brought us some for free! Sigh.. then today my in-laws had us over for brunch and I kind of overdid it. Hoping tomorrow goes a little better. Thanks for the message on…

Thursday truth - still haven't tested out those running shoes... :embarassed: I have done at least an hour of brisk walking today though, just running errands. Will try for some jogging this evening.

Wednesday Wish #1 - that my migraine would go away so I can get outside and test out my new running shoes! #2 - that my husby would get back to recording his food again. Any thoughts on gently but firmly encouraging your other half to be as interested in health and weight loss as you are??

I know I already posted but I just want to add that I took Step 1 to Goal 1 tonight... I bought myself new, "good" running shoes! Jogging starts tomorrow. :) Good night everyone!!

Hey folks! Well I had a really bad food day today - didn't eat anything healthy until supper. Got a walk in though so that's good. But I put it all in my food journal, which is good I guess. Tuesday Goal #1 - start jogging again. Haven't jogged since my skinny days but I really want to try and get back into it. I'm doing a…

Monday check-in: Felt pretty good about food and activity this weekend but this week will be... interesting. I'm at a conference and will be eating many of my meals in a campus cafeteria. Hoping there are healthy choices to be had. Thanks to Morgori for the dragon fruit info - I will keep my eyes open for them around here.…

sounds yummy!

So inspiring... this is just the kind of kick in the butt I need right now. I've been wanting to do a 5K in October, but keep telling myself I'm too fat to jog. Maybe I'm not after all?? :)

Morgori - what are the pink and green things in your farmer's market photo? I don't recognize them, maybe they're not a Canadian thing? Sunday share - I'm 41 (and a half). I gained all my excess weight after my son was born, so around age 31. I had really, really hoped I would get back to my previous weight by the time I…

Hey there... I must admit that I've been lurking on this thread for some time but have been shy to post. Thought I would get a post in before page 20 so I can be part of things "officially"! I've been doing MFP seriously for about a month now. My Saturday success would be that I've logged in and completed my charting for…

I agree - people probably do notice but they are shy to say anything. I also agree that you should treat yourself to a few new wardrobe pieces that flatter your new figure. You will look great and feel great too!

I am on some similar medications and I can relate to the weight gain they can cause. But I would caution you not to wean off your meds without talking to your doctor first. Being thinner is great but not if it takes a toll on your mental health. Please speak to your doctor and mention your concerns about weight gain and…

We had similar problems with my son at that age, likely related to the purchase of a gaming system. He would hold it and hold it while he played, then just leave it too long. Whenever he had a gaming-related accident, he knew he had lost his gaming privileges for the rest of the day. After a few days of consequences, he…

You are an inspiration!! :)

We don't have many of the cheaper stores mentioned where I am. I'm still in the plus-size department and I find lots of great deals online at Lands End. They have sales all the time and their stuff is usually pretty good quality. I buy most of my son's stuff there too. Another bonus is that you can return their stuff free…
