I think you look fantastic! There are lots of people who feel that muscles on women are not feminine and don't like it. My husband prefers the skinny look, and hates my muscles. I constantly get comments about mine. BUT it is MY body and I feel sexier with tone and definition. Don't let your mum dictate to you over your…

I'm in the UK too. Quorn stuff is really high in protein. I've started having quorn burgers for lunch to hit my protein quota. I get Maximuscle protein shakes, mainly because they are cheap in costco! They taste pretty nice though, and I've not noticed any adverse side affects from them.

I use jamie Oliver's pizza dough recipe - http://www.jamieoliver.com/recipes/recipe/pizza-dough I roll them out really really thin, so there isn't much dough there at all. I make my own tomato sauce by blending a tin of tomatoes, reducing it down and adding whatever herbs and spices i fancy that day. Top with very little…

[guote] No, you never use just one fuel source. It's always a combination of them, just in varying degrees. It all depends on how fit you are and how used to the workout type you are. Muscle is a last resort fuel, but if you don't use it, you'll lose it. It's expensive to maintain and heavy to carry around, but used as…

I was a US 14 at around the weight you are now, though I am a bit taller than you at 5"11. I think it is hard to go on the scales. I've been hovering around 196lbs for around 6 months now, but I have dropped down two dress sizes and I'm now a UK 12 on top, UK 14 for jeans. If you do strength work, weights etc, you will…

I don't like running on a treadmill, but I found that cardio alone wasn't going to get me the body I wanted. So I alternate - I run, cycle and walk outdoors, and do classes and strength work in the gym. Get someone to show you round the weights so they are less intimidating :)

I carry on going as I find for me, it makes things lift quicker by being active. But it's up to you, if you want to run, run - it won't do you any harm. If your body is telling you to rest, then take it easy for bit. The fact that you are out in the cold won't make your cold worse, but it does mean your body has to work…

are you wearing proper running socks? I swear by Nike dri fit. If you wear cotton socks, it retains the moisture, and I've had blisters exactly how you describe.

Resting is around 55. I think that is down to running, and I'm quite tall, and taller people apparently tend to have a lower resting heart rate too. I got a new HRM for Xmas, and I've found that exercising it goes up to about 165 when I am comfortably exercising. If I push harder it goes into the 170s. I think if you watch…

Not much snow in the UK in any case, and if you are in central London you will barely see any as it clears very quickly. I live outside London, a bit more rural. I run in the snow, just wear trail shoes for grip. I'd just layer up, wear a hat and gloves and you will be fine. The parks are fab for jogging in London.

I do the Les Mills clases - body pump, body attack, body combat, and spinning classes. By 'work' I guess I mean I really do want an accurate calorie count. Some reviewers have said online that the garmins weren't tracking calories properly in the gym. The more basic ones would be fine for running, but they don't track…

I don't, I don't like to drink and run, so even in hot weather I just have plenty to drink before I go out. I only run up to around an hour though.

Just another thought, my mum has had IBS for years, and recently she cut out soda, especially cola, and her symptoms are so much better! She had it very bad before, but now it is a lot more manageable. She has played around with her diet for years, trying to cut out gluten, dairy, raw veg, etc but nothing really helped…

Pizza - I do a very thin base, with a little cheese and tons of roasted veg - onions, peppers, mushrooms, courgette, aubergine, sweetcorn Italian Chicken with salsa - chicken breasts with veg (peppers, celery, aubergine) which is simmered with red wine vinegar, sugar, and tomato puree. The chicken is then roasted with…

I'm 5 11 and 194 lbs and you are way thinner than me! I'm sure your scales must be broken too!

CALIFORNIA!! I can't wait. Flying into LA, driving to san diego, Las vegas, then San Francisco. Been to Florida and wasn't over keen - didn't like Miami, and the keys was ok, Key west was quite nice. Went to the superbowl last year and loved Chicago, and Indianapolis - that was probably my best ever holiday. Went to…

I'm 5'11. I find I am ideal at about a US12. I've been a 10 and people have said I looked too skinny. I think it depends though on toning. I'm hoping this time I can get a bit thinner, and maybe even to a US10 but tone so I don't just look like a skeleton.

Roast them with herbs, spices and a bit of spray oil. Aubergines, courgette, tomatoes, mushrooms, sweet potato, butternut squash, carrot, peppers - all taste nicer roasted. For the herbs, oregano, or rosemary, and paprika, or allspice. You can roast fruit too - grill bananas, or pineapple slices, with a bit of honey…

I like them roasted with the skin on, you can eat them with anything really. They are very nice with honey and yoghurt like Mrsnecincy said.

I think you will be absolutely fine running 5k. If you can run 30 minutes, you can run for 40 or even longer. Just pace yourself and don't worry too much about the time. . However, like others say, you really do need to get out of the gym. Even if you find a friend who will cycle alongside you, or what about park run?…

Were you running downhill? Even a slight slope can make the reverberations a lot worse. Running offroad makes it easier too, even on mud it's less intense. I agree with the posters though who said it would be worth getting your gait assessed. You say about calorie burn being higher with a jump rope, I couldn't personally…
