  • Give it time. Your body needs time to heal and recover from 9 months of changes. My daughter is about a year and a half. My tummy skin is about as firm as it was, but it did take quite a few months for my stomach muscles to heal and get back to normal. If you're exercising and eating healthier your tummy will get smaller.…
  • You dont have to work out to lose weight although it helps. If you track your food and maintain a deficit between your BMR and TDEE you will lose weight healthy and steadily. Check out the forum post road map 2.0 for info on BMR and TDEE. All that being said it feels good to exercise and helps. Maybe start with some push…
  • Please read this post -> http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 Models are not healthy. Men in general prefer curves (waist to hip ratio) with a healthy store of fat enough to produce children. I don’t know if you're after male approval or to feel attractive or what, but…
  • Cant spot train. It'll go with the rest of the weight.
  • Maybe your calories are set too low. You dont have to exercise every day to lose weight, but if you're starving and you feel you need to exercise to be able to eat more then something is off. Check out the post road map 2.0. When i first started i was exercising every day and eating it all back and still starving. I upped…
  • Exercise and drink the beer you like :) Calories in is Calories out.
  • Maybe make shakes. A cup of my yogurt is 200 calories. Add some milk fruit and spinach and there ya go. Sweet, healthy yummy calories.
  • My work just got an elliptical so I hop on it when i have a cancellation. Currently my schedule is light so i have time. I totally understand wanting to be with your kids at night. Its very hard to go after she's in bed too. Man my late nights are rough cause i miss the evening times.
  • Sent a request :) I'm supportive and on every day. Im a convert to the whole get healthy not thin kinda thing. I've tried the crash diet and i just end up miserable. I'd like to learn a better relationship with food and im having some results finaly. Had some adjustment here to get the numbers right but seems like its…
  • Check out http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 You probably arent eating enough. Understand the science, trust it, and you'll see it works.
  • Hi Hon and welcome :) Before you get too far into this check out http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12 I tell you because I set my daily calories too low in the begining and I didnt lose anything, got really moody/irritable and was hungry all the time. I've been struggling…
  • Take a deep breath. Try and break down the problems smaller. Maybe get some "new" intermediate clothes from a thrift shop? There are community programs out there that help pay rent/heat bills sometimes. Maybe check that out to get a little breathing room. As far as the food... I know one of our local grocery stores is much…
  • Just think weight loss is long term :) It took a while to gain it, it'll take a while to get off. One number here or there wont matter. Its the trend that counts. Relax :) Stress keeps the weight on too btw.
  • Good news! Even eating dinner twice you probably didnt eat over your TDEE. <- total calories to maintain the healthy weight you want. Check out http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/654536-in-place-of-a-road-map-2-0-revised-7-2-12. It explains everything pretty well. Basically if you eat between what you basic metabolism…
  • Net is the number that counts. Sometimes estimations are off with how much calories you actually consume while exercising. Keep your net above your BMR and you're good. Body needs fuel. Give it a try and see how it goes for a few weeks. If you've been eating under your BMR then you might gain a little as your metabolism…
  • I havent actually thrown up. Been able to keep things down. It just doesnt appetize me. I will focus on the fluids though. Also taking it easy. Thanks for the support. :) Hopefully something will shift when i get better.
  • It depends on the type of relapse. If you are constantly below the amount of calories your body needs to maintain itself then you will feel very hungry/irritable. If you have peaks and lows of feeling full you're more likely to relapse. Try researching what your BMR is and what your TDEE is. As long as you're within those…

  • Try forgetting the number. Even if/when you hit your goal weight you may be dissatisfied with how you look. I know I was when i was your age. Try finding an exercise that you love to do and see if that helps. I read a lot about how building muscle changes how the weight looks on you, and you feel better too. All those…
  • Everything I hear is get a heart rate monitor. As far as logging exercise type in the exercise you're trying ex. walking, yoga, elliptical ect are cardio and it'll estimate how many callories you lose. It's usually off for what the elliptical machine tells me (mfp higher than the machine). I have yet to get the heart rate…
  • Is your TDEE calculation accurate? Maybe you are more active than you think you are even when not exercising. The BMR for MFP seems low compaired to other ones I've tried so maybe you arent getting enough calories in. If you feel like you're starving and you eat healthy, maybe you are.
  • Congradulations! It feels good and remotivates you when you see real progress :)

  • My smoothie is 1/2 cup yogurt, 1 cup spinach, 1 banana, ice. Did have 1/2 cup milk but maybe water instead would be good. Also a splash of vanilla or coconut extract. You dont taste the spinach and it makes it better for you.
  • Walk/jog with the dog for 45 min. Ace is a border collie so he was just trotting mostly. I'm sure he looks at me and thinks "Pft this is nothing. Lets go more." I tried a couple short sprints and got him cantering though. :) Getting back into the swing of things and I think he appreciates getting out.
  • Thanks guys for the feedback :) Can anyone recommend a decent not too expensive heart rate monitor?

  • Hehe You're right, they never stop being your babies do they. Even if they're toddlers, children or adults. This seems like a great community. Everyone seems very supportive.

  • My baby's 16 months and I'm shooting to get back to healthy bmi. It's tough but we'll get there. I'm still about 7lb over pre baby weight. Add me, I'll cheer everyone on. :) As far as changes after baby... My breasts took the biggest hit and I'm pretty self concious about them. I figure our bodies change as we age anyway…
  • Welcome and good luck :) I'm new too and this place seems very supportive. I've got a border collie and he hasnt been getting enough exercise with me since the snow makes it harder to walk. (no sidewalks in many places here).
  • I'm an import to Wisconsin. The whole "bubbler" thing still is odd to me. Anyway beein in Appleton for 5 years. :)
  • I think it works by giving you a set calorie number based on your physical aspects and how quickly you want to lose weight. If you exercise then those are calories that you can eat over the original set number. You lose weight because your set baseline is lower than how many calories you eat to maintain your current…
  • I caved at the end of the day yesterday too. It'll be ok. Just keep trying today and maybe spread out your calories more. Exercise too helps :)
