Welcome to MFP! Come to the forums / ask questions / make friends. There's loads of good advice out there. As for calorie counting - just start weighing and logging everything you eat and drink! Easy! Good luck! X

Not new either but refocused! Feel free to add. Xx

Hey! I have lost 15lbs so far but have 100lbs still to go... Feel free to add on this journey to the 'ones'! Kab x

Sorry to hear you don't have support around at home. I am so impressed with your 40lbs! I can't wait to come back and tell everyone when I have lost 40lbs. Well done!

I have lost 15lbs so far but have exactly 100lbs to go. Would just love to be in the 'ones' at some point in the future. But have a long way to go... Feel free to add. Love Kab x

Hello! New to this thread but not new to MFP. Have been off and on for a while - trying to make sure I didn't put any more weight on! Now slowly losing (15lbs) and have 100lbs to go. Looking forward to coming back to this thread to get to know everyone. As I see Friday's post is all about fitness - I haven't anything…

I have lost 15lb so far and have another 100lbs still to go. Feel free to add. :)

Just for your info... cheddar, Parmesan and a lot of other hard cheeses contain rennet - which means the recipes are not vegetarian. :flowerforyou: You can buy rennet free cheeses in large supermarkets but you have to look for it.

Hi! Feel free to add. I'm back on MFP after another break. I haven't weighed myself but know I have put on loads due to the clothes I now have to wear again. Your situation sounds a lot like mine so I feel your pain. Good luck!

Not all English men are like that! Mine is a gentleman. And by gentleman, I believe it just means to be polite and thoughtful of others (including your date). So on my first date he : walked on the roadside (he also does that when walking next to my elderly and slightly frail dad), opened doors for me (but he does that for…

((Hugs)) I know how you feel! But just think of what you might have weighed had you not been tracking... it might have been +1lb! or +2lb! You know you have to be patient and you know you can do it. So have a another good week of tracking, eating well and exercising. YOU CAN SO DO THIS!!

Enjoy your big steak tomorrow and shrimp and scallops and please savour it!!! Please don't ram it down you neck in 2mins 44secs.

I may have indulged in my time but never eaten a 72oz steak! I mean a 12oz steak is pretty big as is a 16oz. But we are not talking about just a large dinner. This is super indulgence. Gross over eating. I mean, 72oz steak!! That is not normal. Again, I say that we shouldn't be saying this right or normal in a society that…

I'd just like to point out that hyenas are sometimes scavengers (so something else has already feasted on the carcass that they are eating) or when they hunt, they leave the carcass behind so the vultures can eat off the bones and nothing is wasted. They share the food in their pack and I doubt that any one member could…

No. But 72 oz!!! Normal restaurant portions are 8/10/12 oz which is very filling (and I'm not small and I LOVE my steak). But I say again 72??!! Can you not see the disparity here? I don't think this should be celebrated. I note that on this forum not everyone agrees. Each to their own.

Possibly not now. But I treat others how I wish to be treated. If someone shot me for meat, I'd hope that they'd cook me properly, add a nice sauce and savour my flavour. Not ram me down their throat in under three mins.

Fair enough. Just thought I'd throw my two-pennyworth in

For the same reason why I find the TV programme Man vs Food and various other programmes in its genre, disgusting. It's gross overeating? For what? Hasn't western culture got enough food without super-sizing portions to the extreme? Aren't we all here because we have realised that humans don't need that much food? The…

It isn't the reason why half the world is starving but it is pretty awful that someone could eat a 72oz steak in one breath and half the world are on basically rice. If the poorer parts of the world were lucky enough to get steak (highly unlikely) it would feed one than one person. Probably a family.

Sorry not sure of your point here. Respectfully, Kab

I respect the animal by eating it, savouring it and enjoying it. Not chucking it down my neck. I wouldn't take two hours but slightly more than 2 mins 44 secs. I am trying to lighten up. That's why I'm on MFP! :flowerforyou:

I find this weird. I love my steak but I would never disrespect both the animal that died for me and the chef that bothered to cook it for me by basically ramming it down my throat. It should be savoured and enjoyed. Not impressive at all. In fact, quite disgusting, since half of the world is starving. This is gross…

1) Weighing daily allows you to get to know you body and the fluctuations it naturally goes through (can be 5lbs up or down on any given day) due to hormones, TOM, sodium, heat etc. I think the list is endless. Weigh at the same time every day in the same conditions. The cons are that some people get disheartened when they…
