Without knowing your stats and how many cals you are eating it is hard to give advice. Are you eating back your exercise cals? Have you set your limits to lose or maintain? I would recommend you open your food diary too. It maybe that you are not eating enough, or need to eat more fats/protein or maybe 3 larger meals a day…

Welcome! Good luck and don't forget to come back to the forums if you have any questions or need support. x

Hello Tammie! Welcome and good luck... x

Ignore the '5 foods to ignore' - that's an advert and is nothing to do with MFP. Set up your profile, add weight, activity level and set your loss a week at 1lb for a steady and slow loss. There are other ways to work out how many calories you should be eating eg. TDEE -20% but don't worry about that straight off. Just go…

^^^This. Enjoy food. Enjoy life. Nothing is off limits if you weigh it/log it. *salute!*

Indeed you are quite right. Depending on the OP's goals this might be the right thing to do. I am coming from it from a different and practical point of view to help give ideas how to easily calorie count with children around which is not always easy! You could boil your rice in a separate pan (weighed in advance…

I cook one meal for my family of five - I just work out the calories for the entire dinner (if it is a one-pot dish) and work out the percentage that I eat, usually about 1/4 (Husband and I have about 1/4 each and the kids share the other 1/2) and then divide the cals accordingly. ETA : I use the MFP recipe builder to work…

Hello! Have three children under 10, work full-time, study and help out at my son's school. There's no way I'm getting up any earlier in the morning for exercise! I need all the sleep I can get... Feel free to add for mutual support and matchsticks for the eyes!

Wish you all the best for the future. x

It is unlikely that you gained. Either weigh yourself daily, under the same conditions and you will see that you weight fluctuates a lot (can be 5lbs either up or down). Almost nothing to do with what you are eating. Watch it go up and down and you will notice the way your body works which is completely normal. As long as…

Aww thank you. :blushing: I suppose it must be more of an English saying then...?

I'd say eat again when you fancy something. If you don't fancy anything more today, so be it. Sip on water as often as you can stomach

Hey welcome! X

I'm almost in exactly the same position. Did really well for the first half of the year but got distracted mid-year and stopped. New year seemed a good time to start again, so here I am! I would welcome friends that message me if I don't log in for a couple of days - I found it really helped and, of course, I would do the…

Hello Lah and welcome! Firstly as someone who has to lose about the same amount as you - I know how you feel. 95lbs seems a huge mountain to climb. But no-one has to climb Everest in a day. So start with a small goal. Maybe to lose 5lbs or to change one thing in your diet to a better option. This journey has to be for life…

Happy to punch you in the face and whip you on the behind!

Welcome and good luck! I'm from London, married with kids and always struggled with weight. Feel free to add :) :flowerforyou:

Hey Beanie, I am already your friend! But thought I'd post... Sorry to hear about your tough times and well done for sticking at this. I too have had a rough couple of months but my MFP pals kept on contacting me, even when I wasn't logging, which was so nice. It was great to know that people out there in the virtual world…

I ate lots and lots of apples. Takes the same amount of time to eat as a cigarette break and gives your hand and mouth something to do for a while. 12 years smoke free and couldn't be happier. Good luck!

I have had mainly seven courses (Blanc, Ramsay, Kochhar, Kitchen) at evening tasting meals (five usually at lunchtime) with matched wine. The courses are generally small and, of course perfectly formed but they don't hold back on all the good stuff (butter, cream, salt, fat etc). Its hard to know what sort of calories you…

Children learn very early on what 'No' means in a stern and low voice. You don't have to explain anything, no shouting, just 'No' once, nicely, then, 'NO' sternly. If they continue on, we put them on time out. Just one or two minutes but they get the message. Being removed from the family room to the hall or stairs is…

From what I gather from these boards and from my own experience, protein does tend to keep you fuller for longer. But it might be too expensive to up the meat and fish content and still keep it within budget. As you also say, during the transition phase, it might not be worth it either if it is only going to be thrown…

Dear 16 year old self, You are going to do okay. Believe in yourself. Love me. P.S. phone your grandparents often. You will miss their wisdom, their stories and their naughty jokes.

Did you never buy a qtr lb of pear drops or cola cubes from the sweet shop? :) You haven't lived! x

I am from the UK but definitely know what fluid ounces are... That's how babies bottles / formula is still measured out! (I think they have ml on the side of the bottles too but I never used that measure.) And, as I am old (well 35!), I still prefer to weigh my ingredients in ounces rather than grams. It makes more sense…
