So here is a question to everyone: what is the best way to react in a situation where you feel (rightly or wrongly) bad about some remarks people make? 1) make it into a joke 2) do not react and change the topic 3) let the person know (gently) that you are going to assume they meant the best but that it came across in a…

Would be great to know how you would have handled it - I find it challenging to navigate how to respond when people make remarks that sting because often I find that any reaction apart from a joking one invites a pretty bad reaction. So your thoughts would be great on that and I can always give that a try the next time

:) everyone has a valid view on it, need to build a thicker skin and just let it slide
-
:) Yup gotta let it slide - just been way too used to adults generally being way more careful about what they say in the office! Most people I know may think something but take a rain check before they say it!
-
:-/ well probably worth setting then the context that some of the people involved have been deliberately making life difficult for me in the office already for a few months! I usually take most comments on the chin but this one came in a little low and on top of a couple of months of grief

Thanks!! And you are doing amazing too :D

:) I have about 75lbs to lose from now! Was too scared to weigh myself at the start 3 weeks ago but already been working out and eating right for this period and still another 75 to go... But down 3cm around the waist already :D
-
That is amazing! I am starting out near the same and fingers crossed I can get some of the same results as yours in a similar time frame :) I would be over the moon! You look great :D

:) count me in please!

Hey I am 32 and about 225 :/ have gotten on and off the wagon so many times now but almost hit the roof when I saw how bad it got this time (wouldn't be surprised if I had hit 235 - I didn't dare to weigh myself - I just got out the measuring tape) - aiming to get to 195 as a first major hurdle but trying in the interim to…

East London here ;) Acgee and I have met a few times last year! ;)

Hi everyone, I am 5'8" and around 210-215 (I think - I still haven't dared to stand on the scales yet) - lowest I have ever been for about 2 weeks was 154 and I have spent most of my life hovering around the 200 mark + or - about 15 lbs. >.< can't believe I am having to lose weight again but back injuries + work + life +…

You look great :) and I think we all need to remember we need to do this because we love ourselves enough to do it... not because we hate ourselves :) Your progress picture absolutely inspires me!

I did think 1350 nett seems really low and that is just 1.5lbs loss a week target :s but I never eat that little I would perish... However weekends I find it very hard to deal with as I socialise so much... And I am already pretty teetotal, only about one drink a week and no sugary drinks at all :( I need to control my…

I am 30 so my metabolism has started slowing down to my horror - I am eating far better than I did in my teens but still have gained some weight although probably not significantly different in size. I know certain meals keep me fuller for much longer than others - actually probably much more balanced meals where it has a…

hmm what spices do you use for your salads? I am not a big vinegar fan but I do like my peppers with olives and feta. :) I do like veggies - generally cooked and prepared by someone else! :)
-
that makes me feel a little better about myself - I was looking at my diary thinking if people looked at this they would laugh and tell me I am eating way too much. I have had a regular portion of jumbo oats with banana and maple syrup with soy milk and honestly within 2 hours I am starving again. - other people seem to…

:) if I had it my way it would be PB toast and 2 boiled eggs :) it is the lunch to dinner segment that really drives me crackers or rather the mid afternoon in general, no matter if I snack or not I still feel like I can consume a full extra lunch inbetween 3-6pm!

I will give adding more veggies in for a start, my feeling is that the salads I am taking in don't seem to be going a long way! (Leaf leaf leaf) I am really stumped about veg though, I can't seem to get around other that boiling/microwaving carrots and cauliflower and broccoli or roasting some peppers and mushrooms that…
