It depends entirely on your current fitness level. If you can barely walk 30 minutes, then no, you're probably not going to be able to do the program in 4 weeks. If you can run for 5-10 minutes now, there's a pretty good chance you can do it. I'd say give it a shot, and if you need to walk part of the race, that's…

For me, "moderation" has become a "once in a very little while" thing rather than "just a little bit" thing. Cheesecake is fine if you have it a couple times a year, not fine if you have it every day or every week. I figure if I blow out my calories a few days a year (like my birthday, Christmas, Thanksgiving, etc), that's…

You could always put a fitbit on your cat! http://www.geeked.info/putting-a-fitbit-on-my-cat/

I signed up before I finished, but I was on week 6 or 7, so not really all that far from finishing.

What else might be different? Lots of things affect how you feel day to day. How did you sleep the night before? What did you eat? How hot was it? What else do you have on your mind? How much water have you drunk?

Stairs is the big difference for me. I walk up lots of stairs at work, and the zip doesn't capture that. I want credit for stairs, so the one it is! (Also I am not into the neon colors. I need a less flashy fitbit for my conservative work environment.)

Hell yes. Unless you're sitting on a riding mower and eat cake at the same time. Then, no.

I'm averaging about 15 min/mile. I ran my first 5K on Saturday, and my official pace was 14:45/mile. I feel like a fast snail could pass me, but that's about all I can handle right now. I'm working on running more, so I'm hoping I'll get faster eventually.

Personal, TMI question: Is it your time of the month? I always gain a few extra pounds like clockwork once a month. After about 10 days it goes away just through normal hormonal fluctuations.

I usually drink just water. My problem is that I run in the evenings (usually - not this week with super high temps!) and then have to pee like crazy in the middle of the night! All that water at night waits until I'm fast asleep to decide it's ready to come out again.

Can you walk for 3 miles at a reasonably fast pace? (I'm not talking speed walking here, more like under 20 min per mile.) I would work on that first if you can't. Time yourself and see where you are now. Get some music that's slightly faster than your current pace and play it as you walk. If you can't hold a walk for 3…

My first 5K is on July 20th. I ran 3 miles last night for the first time - that's my longest run ever at this point. It took me over 45 minutes, but I'm okay with slow because I ran the whole way! I figure I have five more training runs before the big day, so hopefully I'll be more comfortable with the distance than I was…

I usually manually log anything that's not captured sufficiently just by steps. For example, mowing the lawn usually gets me quite a few steps, but I burn a lot more calories than I would have if I had just walked around the yard for the same length of time. So I log mowing. You should also log activities like swimming or…

This is a real flaw in the C25K program, IMHO. No one (okay, very, very few people) are going to be running a 5K in 30 min or less, but the way the program is set up it seems like you should be. The expectation that the program will get you ready for a 5K in 8 weeks is unrealistic, and I wish the program were set up to…

Two trains set out at the 9 am, one from San Francisco and one from New York, heading towards each other. If the train from San Fran travels at 50 mph and the train from New York travels at 42 mph, how much will the dining car overcharge for the sandwiches?

I just graduated last night from the C25K program. I also struggle with it, but I struggled with each stage of it. I thought I would die after the 5 min runs, but with each little bit further, the earlier stages seemed like they were not as big of a deal. I'm not sure it will ever be as easy as I'd like to run, but it will…

I graduated! I can now run 30 minutes without stopping! Too bad it's so slowly that it's only about 2 miles. I have signed up for a 5K in less than 3 weeks (July 20), so I'll be spending the next three weeks extending my time and distance so that hopefully I don't let myself down on the big day.

I have a One, and I love it. I wouldn't trade it for a Flex, personally. I like how discreet the One is - I can clip it to my bra or pants pocket, and no one notices it at all. I think a Flex would be much more noticeable. I work in a professional environment, and a rubber bracelet would stand out. I've had a fitbit for…

I have a fitbit one, and I don't log anything extra. That said, I usually put the one in timer mode to get a record of my speed/pace. With the one, push and hold the button until the timer starts, then do your exercise. Push and hold again to end the timer mode. You'll get a nice summary of your workout on the fitbit…

Get it. You won't regret it. The biggest issue people seem to have is keeping up with it and making sure they don't wash it. I haven't lost mine yet - I clip it to the same spot on my pants pocket and make sure I wear it every night on my wrist when I go to bed. I also clip it so that the fitbit sits inside my pocket with…

I have a one, and with the black rubber casing it's very discreet. I clip it to my pants pocket, and no one has said a word to me about it. Several other people have commented on clipping it to their bras - you can do that very easily. (I don't because I like to check it throughout the day, and I can't scramble in my shirt…

Always take a banana to a party. Bananas are good.
