I didn't think you came off as judgmental at all. And I think your idea about cooking at home and donating what you would have spent going out is a fantastic goal! edit: typo

Me too. I started a couple of days early though...Friday the 4th was my last weigh-in 'till Easter. I had to hide my scale in the closet though. I still had it in my bathroom and I almost stepped on it this morning out of habit.

Attitude...that's what I'm missing. Where can I get one of those?

I installed the Runkeeper app on my phone yesterday and used it while I walked last night. It tracks my route via GPS and displays it on a map online. My son was able to see where I was on the online map while I was out walking. It's not much in the way of protection, but at least it's a little safer that what I've been…

I just downloaded the free version of Runkeeper and used it for the first time last night. I like that I can program a custom workout into Runkeeper and it will give me coaching/cues during my walk/run. I'm doing C25K, so I programmed in the intervals for my current week and the app tells me when to change from running to…

You don't sound desperate. We're all in the same boat. Sending friend request now.

So glad I signed up to do this yesterday. I did not feel like walking tonight, so I was just going to take my dog out for a quick 5 or 10 minutes and nothing more. But then I remembered this challenge and pushed myself to take him for a 36 minute walk instead. So thanks you guys for motivating me to get out there tonight!…

Oooohhh! I'm in! My goal is to walk (or run) at least 30 minutes a day for the month of March. If I can figure out how to get a GPS tracker to work on my android phone without interfering with my C25K app, I might change that to 2 or 3 miles a day. I'm doing C25K 3 times a week and I usually walk the other days, but…

Thanks for the chart! Sorry to hear you were under the weather...hope you're better now. Anyway, just wanted to let you know that I won't be weighing-in with you guys any more:frown: . I've decided to give up my scale for lent, so no more weigh-ins for me until Easter. Best of luck to all of you!

I'm doing this too. I'm starting tomorrow though because my usual weigh-day is Friday. I'm weighing in tomorrow morning then I'm done till Easter. And I'm going to hoard a bunch of Cadbury Creme Eggs between now and then to celebrate my huge loss on Easter morning! OK, no I won't, but I should...I love those things and…

Mine's public. Feel free to add me.

I have a mini Heath bar or one of those Dove Promises almost every day. But I've got to say that banana dipped in chocolate and peanut butter sounds pretty good right about now. Oh and there was a recipe on the message boards recently for Banana Nutella Wontons. I don't havethe link in front of me now, but you can try…

Just adding a playlist to my ipod for the gym tomorrow: Juicy - Better Than Ezra Supernatural Supersious - REM Veronica - Elvis Costello I Should Be Allowed To Think - They Might Be Giants Be Good - Hothouse Flowers The Logical Song - Supertramp Stop! - Jane's Addiction I Will Be Free - Nil Lara Hard to Concentrate - Red…

Weight loss is a by-product of fitness.

I'm in! I love to read and I just don't do it enough any more. I started reading The Red Tent about a year ago, but didn't love it so I stopped about half way through. I'll start re-reading it tomorrow and see if I can't get into it more this time. I hate starting a book and not finishing it, so this will be great.

That's a great idea! Especially the ice cream sandwiches bit  ! Thanks!

Funny, I did the same thing last week. My son is away at college, but he came home to visit for the weekend. The day he was leaving, I went to the grocery store and bought all his favorite (and mine) snacks to send back with him: terrible stuff like Cheez-its and Reese's and Mac & Cheese. Of course, I told myself I was…

OK sorry, but I actually laughed out loud at this one--I LOVE NUTELLA! But right now, this time of year, my biggest weakness is Cadbury Creme Eggs. I know the filling is made of some kind of carcinogenic sweetened plastic (or worse), but they're SOOOOO yummy! I seriously have to avoid going into stores for the next month…

I'll be doing C25K about every other day and my food/exercise diary is public, so you can look in to see how many calories I'm burning in future weeks. Feel free to add me as a friend if you'd like.

It seems to be linked to weight as sometimes my mother and I walk together and both enter the same exercise at the same time and we get different calorie estimates from MFP. There's about a 60 lb difference between us and her calorie burn estimate from MFP is always higher than mine.

I'm 5' 1" and 167 lbs so this will just be a rough guide, but here's my info. C25K W1, D1 30 mins, 250 calories W1, D2 30 mins, 249 calories W1, D3 30 mins, 249 calories W1, D4 40 mins, 334 calories (added on a little extra running and walking as I was repeating a day) W2, D1 30 mins, 300 calories W2, D2 38 mins, 290…

Morning guys! Hope everyone had a great week. My weight for today is 166.4.

I'm pretty much ALWAYS craving brownies, so I'll be making these tomorrow. Love that they don't have artificial sweetener. Thanks for sharing!
-
Not me! I'm getting rid of mine for Lent too. Next Friday will be my last weigh-in until Easter.
-
Welcome!

Your story is very similar to mine. I'm also 5' 1" (plus a half inch on a good day:wink:), so I know how at our height, each and every pound shows. Like you, my weight goes up and down. I get on track and lose weight for several months then something comes up to knock me off track and slowly my weight creeps back up.…

Bump! Thanks for posting!

If you wear a heart rate monitor, you see how many calories you burn and enter them yourself under cardio. Or you can use the MFP estimates. From http://www.myfitnesspal.com/faq Q. Doesn't strength training burn calories? Why don't you show any calories burned for strength training? A. Estimating the calories burned from…

Yep...that sounds about right.
