  • I would love to sit here and reply to you each individually! I'm so glad I'm not the only one. I agree that it's all about a balance between pushing yourself and not making yourself crazy. I'm proud to say that since my epiphany, I'm going a little easier on myself. I went to the gym this morning, didn't have to force…
  • My best friend is adorable and fit and very sexy. She is WAY attracted to big guys. She likes the way they make her feel small and protected. I think personality is WAY more important than looks. I'll be the first to admit that every time I've dated a guy based on looks it has been a total disaster, but every relationship…
  • This is a variation on what was already said, but a whole wheat english muffin with peanut butter and a banana sliced on top is so yummy. I love eggs, and I make scrambled eggs with almond milk and then put it on toast with some salsa. So yummy.
  • I guess you never stop building muscle, right? But yeah, maybe tweak your plan a little to see what's going on. Good luck!
  • I like the Flat Belly Diet. I got a little pocket sized version of the full size book for less than $10 at Target. It's got the full plan and it's a healthy balanced diet plan. Plus it has a vegetarian option, which was a selling point for me.
  • Just keep tracking and using this site and you'll lose! I love MFP. I added you as a friend!!
  • Are you tracking your inches and body fat percentage or just your weight? I'm in the same situation as you -- I've lost about 70 lbs on my own and recently started focusing on weight training more. In 2.5 months, I've only lost 2 lbs total, but I've lost 3 inches off my waist and my body fat percentage has gone down from…
  • I love this! I'm also having a love/hate relationship with my scale. I'm so close to my goal weight that even though I'm seeing a decrease in inches and body fat %, the scale occasionally goes up and it still makes me mad! I know it's unreasonable, but it's hard to erase a lifetime of focusing on that little red number…
  • The problem isn't with complex carbs (vegetables), it's with simple carbs that have been stripped of their nutritional content. Not only is the SAD too (simple) carb heavy, it's also too (animal) protein heavy and too fiber deficient. All we need to do is start eating more plants and everyone will be healthier. Problem…
  • The Atkins diet is terrible for your health and the only reason you lose weight on it is because you aren't eating as many calories. Calories in vs. Calories out is the way to lose weight. Too much protein and fat is terrible for your body, and it's not maintainable. Once you start eating normally again (which you will…
  • I feel like that a lot. I find it helps to have a day a week when I'm not going to think about counting calories, and just try to be mindful of what I'm eating. Like, even if I decide I want a ice cream sundae, I'm mindful of it.
  • Spaghetti! Whole grain noodles with half a cup of sauce, peas, broccoli and mushrooms. Yum!
  • A friend of mine has this and SWEARS by the Vibram 5-finger shoes! They look weird, but he swears that exercising with them has erased any sign of the Plantar faciitis!

  • Yay! I'm glad I have a new friend who knows what she is talking about! :)
  • I personally think almond milk with some fruit and a scoop of protein powder is the right answer to this question! Regular milk isn't very good for you in the long run. If you do want regular milk, drink organic! :)
  • Agreed, for an Insanity alum, I got SO bored with 30DS. I agree with others here who said to try a hybrid of the 2. Or pre-order P90X 2! From the previews I've seen, it looks intense!
  • I was more successful on WW, but that's only because I started on WW when I weighed 217 lbs. I weigh 149 now, which I've managed to maintain and even lose a little on MFP (when I signed up, I was about 152), but overall weight loss is much harder now that I'm smaller. I'm happy with my body now, though I would like to lose…
  • I always feel guilty when I don't go to the gym, so I try to go for a brisk walk.
  • I'm having this same problem, and it IS NOT due to the types of food I'm eating. I'm a vegetarian, but I eat as much protein/fiber as I can. I snack, I eat back all my exercise calories but I'm CONSTANTLY hungry. I eat more vegetables than anyone, probably. I'm currently starving and have already eaten 800 calories today.…
  • The OP said she didn't want to buy a HRM. I realize that the calories burned will be different for each individual, but I agree with the OP. I'd like to have an estimate on how many calories different DVD's burn without buying a HRM. I just can't afford one right now.
