My 1st half is in March!!! I'm putting in the miles each week, 2 days of hardcore intervals to work on speed, and 1 long run per week. I'm also nervous but super stoked too. You got this & enjoy the journey!!!

Drink lots of water and get started eating healthy!!!!!!

I had no clue when I started either. I bought a cheap bench from kmart. Then extra plates as I needed them. New Rules as at home variations. You can do it and you will glad you did. My post menopausal mom started with me last year and she not only looks great she's off of her osteoporosis meds!

You won't regret strength training! I still lost weight because I ate at a deficit but I also lost mega inches because of lifting. Grab a copy of New Rules of lifting for women to get you started!

Yes, your photos are amazing and sure your transformation is fabulous, but your outlook is what makes you a freakin ROCK STAR!!! What you wrote about your health and the gift you not only give to yourself but also to your daughter is exactly why I got started and why I continue to push everyday for about a year. That's…

Thanks for the replies! I've bought supercharged and so far so good!

The lifting I do is all from home with a cheap weight set that I pickup at K-Mart, it really doesn't have to take tons of money. Body weight workouts are great too. Go to nerdfitness.com and check out bodyweight matrix. And yep eating more protein:)

It's all in the eye of the beholder. If you are not confident in yourself and what you are doing, then do some research and make yourself proud. If you lift heavy for you, you are a lifter. However, if you feel you are only going through the motions and not pushing yourself...then I would personally find a better program…

Thanks! I believe I am going to run to the bookstore today and purchase "Supercharge" Thoughts??

I go ahead and eat. My bored eating is when I get my extra protein in. Greek yogurt with granola, nuts, or an Apple/banana with peanut butter! Yum!! I've always been a bored eater no sense trying to torture myself over it.....just keep healthy snacks around for these occasions. Good luck:)

I suggest getting a copy of New Rules of Lifting for Women! :)

Suz, I am so glad you found me:) You are such a huge support and a great inspiration!! You look fabulous and are truly just as beautiful on the inside as you are on the outside!! xoxo

GREAT work, friend!! Looking good! After seeing your numbers everyday, I am not surprised a bit! Keep up all your effort and hard work...it's paying off!!:drinker:

I do cardio on non-lift days, just nothing to strenous on my muscles. I do the ellipitical or run/walk on the treadmill. I do not use incline or resistance so that my legs can heal in between lifting.

The days that you lift. Drink a protein shake immediatly following and be sure to keep your protein up those days.

I'm 170lbs. According to my HRM for stretching, ellipitical 10 min warm-up and 35-45 minutes of heavy lifting, I burn anywhere from 465-600. So it is probably about right. Edited to add: I burn crazy numbers if I add an extra workout in the evening. For example 30 day shred. Then my total for the day ranges from 800-1100

My mom is in her 50's a doing this with me. She is slowing increasing weight. At first she increased weight pretty quickily but has stalled. She loves it:D I am so proud of her!

I am moving into week 6 on Monday. I finished up week 5 by squatting 100lbs! I'm thrilled, but how good is that? I feel like I can do more, but am easing my way up.

Is it sabotage when my 10 year old was licking his cream filled donut in front of me going, "but mom it is soooo good"?! Little crap head, I should teach him better manners!! In all honesty I went on this journey; not my kids nor my husband. I make them all their favorite junk and have my snacks to the side.…

I've tried the plain and added granola; fresh, frozen, and dried fruit. I just don't care for it. I bought a few of the Chobani flavors tonight. I hope I like it!

I lift and do cardio at home in my detached garage. I get the two older kids on the bus at 6:45 am, have breakfast and take care of 6month old. When it is time for the baby's nap, usually 8:30ish, I put her to sleep in room in the garage and work out. Usually until 10. Then at 1:30 when I get husband off to work, I do 30…

Thanks for the info! I will check it out:)

I just started today with 30 day shred. I am also lifting kinda heavy(New Rules of Lifting for Women) 3x a week. And have been doing the ellipitical on my off days; this is why I started 30 day shred, I get bored of the elliptical!
-
Can you add some squats and deadlifts to your routine...see if that helps?
-
10 real push ups!! 3 weeks ago I struggled to do 5 and would finish them on the wall. Now I finish up reps on the weight bench!
-
Yes, we retain water during that time. Ugh!!

All I know is my one Diet Dew a day and lots of water has to be better than the 6 regular dews and lots of sweet tea I was drinking previously. OP, just try to push yourself into drinking less soda every day. You won't even miss it and it can be used as a treat.

Your story gave me goosebumps and made me a lil' teary-eyed! You look amazing and have such a great attitude. Congrats
