  • sorry Grumpy...I'm Dopey today :-)
  • I simply cut off the top and spoon it . I love 'em !
  • Agree, Skinny cow is good ice cream....big popcorn freak, but use an air popper to stay away from microwave stuff...chocolate on it..might have to try it !
  • Dark Chocolate and Frozen Yogurt are certainly two of the top on my list :-)
  • While I'd like to see the scale show a lower number, I'm far more concerned and concentrate on getting rid of body fat ! I rarely weigh myself these days and focus on consistent exercise and good eating habits. Figure I'll weigh myself every few weeks or so...until it starts going down big time, then I'll weigh myself…
  • Have you also tried beets? A lot of similar nutritional value as turnips, but I think slightly better. As you probably know, both contain a fair amount of sugar. This is generally how my wife makes turnips and (I think) the beets. I just eat them :-) Sautéed Turnips and Greens Cook peeled and cut-up turnips and sliced…
  • Personally, I have to always remind myself to give the body a rest to rebuild. On those days, I try to eat even better. One ongoing challenge is to mix things up so you don't get burn out. I go to a gym, vs. working out a lot at home, so that I have a more dedicated, varied environment...with different people around to…
  • As a part-pig man, I like both. I use to be hung up on skinny, but then I was introduced to curvy so now I like both. However, over the years, I learned that neither have to do with Sexy. Sexy is something you exude, or don't, regardless of size and / or shape. Can simply be attitude, intelligence, ....it is just something…
  • To be happy every day of my life, and have only positive / happy people around me ...since I'm going to live forever, I'm asking for a lot...but if one doesn't ask?
  • Put in some hot peppers of varying sorts...they have a lot of nutritional benefits ! Maybe also some Spinach ? Maybe some rice in the soup just to quell the need for something heavier with soup?
  • congrats on progress to-date ! How much more weight do you think you need to lose? What types of exercise do you do?
  • I live in outside Montreal area...if the group walks or runs over to my house to start our group workouts, would be great warmup?
  • I believe you. If you are in better shape than most, you have more muscle and less fat...the fat isn't setting on the key points. I went through same once, where people were telling me I was losing too much weight, but still 20 pounds more than I wanted to weigh. Geez, some peeps on here :-)
  • Gotta give it up...regular or diet just doesn't seem to be good for you. I drink water, but my wife has to flavor the water to drink enough of it.
  • Somewhere outside of Montreal. If you want to know how to get here, I'll need to get my GPS !
  • "in my lady bits" lol...at age 59 1/2 I have to admit first time hearing this....can you explain? Please send private e:mail if you think necessary lol.
  • are the feathers still on the chicken?
  • I agree that a pound is a pound whether fat or muscle. However, I don't think people mean it literally; I think what is meant is that you initially add muscle more quickly than you lose fat so you often see that initial gain of weight. Eventually, I think you find it harder to build muscle, yet you continue to burn fat so…
  • The good news is ...you're normal , and there is no bad news. We all slip and just need to start again. Life doesn't make it easy, but worthwhile to keep trying and do best we can. I'll help kick your butt when needed :0) .
  • You have breakfast...that is great and can splurge a little more as have whole day to work it. Sounds like you grab a quick bite as lunch but not much? Personally, I don't think 7 pm eating is so much an issue, but maybe try to find some healthy snacks to have between lunch and end of work to keep metabolism stoked. BTW,…
  • Having Friday off is probably good for you based on your age :-) . I think you have too many consecutive days (mon-thurs.) where you are working your muscles. You need to let them build back up after you tear them down, even at your age. Maybe work in a day of pure aerobic (walking / elliptical / etc.) after a few days of…
  • Stick with it and give it time. Depending on what type of exercise you are doing, you might see temporary weight gain (muscle vs. fat). You might see positive results in how clothes fit ..ala skinny jeans :-) ..before you see significant weight loss. Don't make it a burden...make it a lifestyle and fun.
  • My wife says I lost my man boobs so guess it works for both sexes :-) .
  • I had to add it under aerobic, and the category strength training is in their database...enter minutes and it provides update. Don't know how accurate it is, but what the hey, its consistent. I found the entries under strength training to be for only tracking sets, reps, and weight. Hope this helps.
  • I'm almost 60 and can say I almost never feel too old for anything...exception being after killer workout and muscles hurt, I sometimes say "I'm getting old" (don't mean it ! LOL). Geez, I'm going to live forever so still in my toddler years....act like it too !
  • Somewhat depends on your goals and needs. Walking and swimming are good exercises for weight control and cardio, but I think it serves people well to have a level of weight based strengthening exercise. I think we all have fav or not so fav exercises based on our strengths and weaknesses. Watch and ask others at the gym in…
  • I think he is a cheater and liar whom did what he did for personal gain while defaming others to hide his cheating. We all know he cheated, the evidence is in so let the lawyers have at him and get him out of the news.
  • Probably not all the difference, but could be half of it...depending too on what type of lifting she did, and the fact that she did very little in terms of exercise before the change. I easily gain 5-6 within the first 2 weeks after a layoff. Other factors could be sodium related to diet change (someone else mentioned), If…
  • I'm sure others have said it...muscle weighs more than fat...looks like you built some muscle, then let it turn back to fat. Funny think about fat is that you don't see it right away...kinda runs throughout your body parts then settles in middle. Although I have lifted weights all my life, if I take a break of a month or…
  • Not strange, but found out I love sardines (again) : I'm sure there are some things I ca They come in different oils or sauces so I suggest trying different combinations to see which you like best. Got 2 of my 3 young granddaughters addicted to them and still working on the third. As our 5 yr old granddaughter reminds…
