  • LOL, I wish we could just make some body weight transfers ! One thing I love to make for breakfast is eggs and bacon on a bagel. Bacon so easy to make in microwave, and you might be able to make it the night before and just "nuke" it ? Or just put it in microwave first thing when you get out of bed. Eggs are easy and…
  • Well, even if someone doesn't want to live "forever", I think its smart to be able to do most things you want while you are still alive :-) . I think I'm fortunate in that my body allows me to workout and do other things at this age and live a relatively pain free life. A large part of it due to my working out, to some…
  • I've done both but now no longer have all the equipment or space I once had for home workouts. Prefer gym today as its literally walking distance away (I drive LOL), and its a way to get out and be around different people. I am considering buying one of the "band" type pieces of equipment to have around when I need to work…
  • yea yea, I hate it when that happens ! I really need to get to 6 days on and 1 off eating to lose weight. I'm pretty consistent with working out and actually had to rethink my routines as I was wearing myself out...I"m old LOL. However, 2019 started off somewhat shaky, and I don't know why...pushing to get back on track.
  • Sweets are the killer. I love ice cream and chocolate at night :-( . I'm going to try and eat some fruit with cottage cheese when I get cravings. I'll try to make it a habit but will settle with eating nothing or the cottage cheese 5 days a week.
  • I'll be 60 this year, and looking to lose up to 70 pounds. However, I don't know how practical that is due to having worked out, somewhat regularly, over the years. About 10 years ago I lost roughly 40 plus pounds then gained it all back. My pitfalls were stress and time related to work, ;and, of course, the bad eating…
  • Somewhat depends on your schedule. If you have time each day, you might dedicate a little more time to both if you separate them? Also, might be more of a daily picker-upper. However, I don't think combining them is bad, if needed to do it based on available time. Maybe combine them, and if on off days you have time, do…
  • It is great you are lifting as I think it is critical to truly getting in shape and helping to burn more calories / fat. I definitely think you need both lifting and cardio. Cardio not only for additional weight loss but for the aerobic gains. Keep at it !
  • Here's my 2 cents...over time I went from the traditional get married to what I think today. If you don't want kids, or don't want kids now, stay single. Doesn't mean you can't have a steady or longer term relationship, but I personally think marriage is, primarily, for those people whom want to have children. Once you…
  • For me it is something I've done it for so long that I feel "bad" when I don't do it. Once you feel the change, you like it. However, I agree it isn't the most exciting thing to do. You might need to partner up with someone whom can keep you going, and to have fun with at gym.Maybe someone you like to talk to whom you…
  • -14F this morning on way to gym....will be about -17F to -19F tonight...no warm up until possibly the weekend..."warm up" being relative term. With the wind chill factored in, it was even colder.
  • I have the same issue, but more so because of what is in decent foods I eat as opposed to an ongoing addiction. Might find out otherwise if I change foods and take in less sugar. I'm / was a chocoholic too...here are two things I did to help. Switched to dark chocolate...highest cocoa % I could enjoy. I find that I need /…
  • My sister-in-law comes to mind on this issue. She had a trainer whom had her lifting a lot of weight for legs, and to some degree for back etc. To me, she obviously looked to be in good shape, but too muscular (big) legs, and to certain extent back. She looked liked a weight lifter...not what she was wanting. She went with…
  • I agree with below comments, along with possibly a stronger focus on what you eat for meals. You say you lost weight, but I didn't see if it was with exercise or mainly diet. Exercise is must, along with nutritional habits. Certain foods might help lower ...oatmeal, etc. ; might try to incorporate some of these in eating…
  • My wife has same issue. I buy her lemon / lime flavored bottled water. While it costs a little more, there are not a bunch of additional calories or sugars added to good ones. She has also found some powdered flavorings that probably have sugar subs, but almost no calories. I think it is worth the extra $2-$3 a day if she…
  • Here are some quick finds on internet: http://www.bodybuilding.com/fun/babyboom75.htm http://www.fitness-training-at-home.com/hamstring-exercises.html
  • Here is an article on boosting your metabolism ; give it more time. Could be the muscle building, could be you aren't eating enough...need to give it more time. I've been working out fairly regularly since last August, but only put it with nutrition a few weeks ago. Lifting fairly heavy, doing cardio, and doing pretty well…
  • This site is a cross-section of the world....gonna get the good with the axxhxxxx. Also, I think a lot of people have lost themselves in life's problems and themselves and forget how to laugh and have fun....me, I vote for go crazy :-)
  • I think so as I see it (I'm 59). I would look to incorporate metabolism boosters into your lifestyle to help out.
  • Personally, with the mix, I think you are ok. This is also based on fact that it appears you will be having a few days after to recover, and you are 19,
  • It is interesting. My wife has always been and still is a real beauty, in all ways. She is use to being complimented, the center of attention, certainly as opposed to me. However, I also look younger than my age, and now, with my focus on physical fitness and "fat" loss, I'm constantly getting compliments and comments from…
  • did you try drinking a lot of water when you feel the binge coming on? then eat the salty popcorn, and drink more water...might fill up ?
  • What about bike riding or stationary bike with resistance? As this is an effort I can really get behind, here is an article that shows exercises that can be done at home :-) . Wish you a lot of success lol. http://www.fitnessmagazine.com/workout/butt/exercises/our-top-10-exercises-to-tone-your-butt/?page=1 here are a few…

  • Soda use to be an everyday casual drink for me years back. Realizing how bad it was for me all the way around, I simply switched to water. Made it a habit where today, whether the real or diet soda, it is simply too sweet and don't really want to drink it now. Guess it was creating a new habit?
  • Looking around me and seeing how people, some many years younger, are limited in what they do, or can do because they are so out of shape. Realizing I have kept in decent condition so I can do things and have choice to get back to old me...making that choice now and starting to feel it.....feels good :-)
  • How long have you been working on diet? Do you work out ...I see you mention surgeries on profile. You are going through rough spot, but way too young to give up on yourself...and you are down right beautiful...so keep smiling! You can complain to us "-)
  • I AGREE WITH YOU....PEEPS SHOULD READ AND UNDERSTAND THE MESSAGE BEFORE JUMPING TO CONCLUSION THAT CAPS ARE YELLING. MY KEYBOARD SOUNDS THE SAME WHEN KEYING IN lower case OR CAPITAL LETTERS...HOW WE GET SO SILLY...HOPE THIS DIDN'T HURT ANYONE'S EARS ! :-p:
  • Personally, I like the option of eating up some of my "earned" calories if I get the urge. However, I can see the benefit of not doing it as long as you are not always hungry and are supporting your body (exercise) , through good nutrition. I sometimes hear from people that working out makes them hungry (want to eat more),…
  • Popcorn...can can get creative with toppings...but here is example of bag of microwave bag:Orville Redenbacher's - Smart Pop 94% Fat Free Butter Microwave Popcorn, 1 bag (7.5 cups popped) 120 calories 25 2 4 0
  • I'm eating and not being a Spartan about it...things I like. Just trying to keep under my calorie count...taking into consideration what I gain through exercise. Not deprived at all .
