or I could have run from my house to Maastricht

369.08 miles since I got my own Garmin in July, so could easily have started out in San Antonio and ran (ve-ery slowly) to Marathon and beyond! some before that on someone else's, and some without, when I didn't know I would be interested in keeping records are we going to add them all together and admire our group total?
-
thank you! am grateful for all thoughts on this - I have a copy of that book somewhere and also the Quick Start guide, think there is a recipe book on its way to accompany them I stretch, eat then shower while Garmin uploads too  I wish I could live in some sort of training camp at least some of the time, where all…

I 'know' I burn an average 70 cals per mile running at my steady pace so I just guess based on how much greater (or not) my effort on the bike feels in comparison. It's very imprecise (but so is all the weighing and measuring of food and everything else I suppose?)
-
just bumping this because, unlike most adults, I still don't know how to feed myself appropriately

hi, I think we've chatted on here before? I've got a half in March and my first full in May and thanks to the miracle that is the iPhone app I seem to be enjoying notifications all the time so can be relied upon to cheer you on! Add me!

I feel like I have an eating disorder after comparing my new goal with the responses on here either I'm in the wrong height category (163 cm?) or something is not right with my body fat calculations (using Matt Fitzgerald's Racing Weight thing) :noway:
-
to finish (and enjoy at least some of) my first marathon in May and all the training that comes before it another half before that, am really trying not to worry about my pace if I still like running I'll get a charity place in the Berlin marathon later in the year, love Berlin and never stay more than a couple of days so…

childbirth?! were your feet in stirrups at the time or was it an extreme 'active' birth? one hot bath and it is pain free for the first time in days, I'll set off on tomorrow's 15 miler but will never be more than a couple of miles from home so I can get back easily if necessary
-
thanks jstjean, hope your issues are resolved soon - isn't dry needling painful? will take your advice and see a physio next week if possible I think the earlier tightness may have caused a strain somehow but don't know why I thought someone could diagnose it over the internet. Still not 100% sure whether it is advisable…
-
thanks, someone else said heat and stretches (because of the tightness before I suppose). I really expected to stay injury free for some reason :(

is my leg going to fall off?
-
to begin with it felt like a little tight knot but now the whole area feels bruised deep inside I bet it's my stupid new shoes
-
me too, every morning but what is TrendWeight? if I google will I buy something I don't need? ETA ok I googled and I would have to buy new scales.
-
awwww happy christmas to your feet! that sounds so nice!
-
I can't imagine doing it without access to other runner's routes, on garmin or mapmyrun, but it's so much better if someone comes out with me for at least part of the way the first time otherwise I get lost (or feel lost, not quite the same thing) very easily. I don't mind the feeling of being lost off road though, it's…

I did insanity and running (and yoga and spin and horse riding and ski lessons) earlier this year and the best advice I had was to choose One Thing and make it a priority, so I chose running and my life became fabulous (my knees were thankful for it anyway, insanity was hard on them)
-
anyway I think I get why someone might want to but not why anyone would ever 'have' to - if that makes sense
-
she's asking for help to wear something painful, is natural to wonder why the **** anyone would bother! isn't it?
-
why would anyone ever HAVE to wear heels?
-
thanks, yes I weigh every day so I am used to not relying too much on the number on the scale but I have never known how long I am supposed to stay at a certain calorie intake, 4-6 weeks makes sense it's hard to be patient!
-
just don't wear heels maybe? aren't there studies upon studies outlining the risks of permanent damage to your knees, hips, back etc?
-
I get the idea of a maintenance range of a few kilos either way rather than deciding upon a set point, because obviously it will fluctuate a lot, but how long is long enough to determine whether you are gaining/losing or maintaining - two weeks? three? a month?

I draw the line at brown pasta! Isn't it bad for la tua pancia?
-
I always lose weight in Italy, so much lovely fresh food especially fruits and vegetables and salads. Apart from the French gli italiani are the slimmest Europeans!
-
Piacere! Di dove sei? I am in the UK, haven't been to Italy since last Pasqua when I was on holiday in Palermo. I run so it goes without saying that I love pasta! Ci sentiamo presto I hope x
-
I cracked it, yay. :)
-
why is it called a 'near miss' when you did actually miss and what you mean is it was a 'near hit' ?
-
wow lots more posts, thanks everyone, it helps to know other people can be a little apprehensive about their longer runs too - I think I've worked something out for tomorrow, mostly through woods so no cars to worry about just bogeymen and deer :)
-
yes! why is that? good to know the mind games will happen less the more I do it though, thanks :)
