do people have a maximum mileage/training volume?
probably haven't phrased that very well, am wondering if there's a built in limit to how many miles or hours per week any given person can run, or whether anyone who wants to (and pays proper attention to rest and nutrition and has the time and so on) could run, say, 100 mile plus weeks? (I don't aspire to this myself, I…

how will I get my running powers back?
have barely scraped 14 miles all month due to calf strain - mild but constant it is improving with physio but is taking AGES and am starting to panic about my half in March, not to mention the full in May how do you start running again without making it worse? do you sort of run/walk to begin with?

what has your running club done for you?
so I'm a bit nervous about joining a proper club but am hoping it will help me with Project Run Consistently, especially in the winter, and am hoping to read lots of Good Things about club running :-)

if you've had a (mild) soleus strain . . .
. . . how long did it take to heal? Did you stop running entirely, if so, what did you do by way of training? feeling a bit miserable :(

how do you eat enough to run well without gaining weight?
Hello, am hoping to befriend some of you with open diaries so I can see how it is done - I'm a new runner as of earlier this year, my first marathon is next May (have a half after Christmas some time). My weekday runs vary from 5-10k, three or four times, and my long run is currently only between 10 and 13. The plan is to…

ancora non sono pronta, ma vi auguro a good one!

what does this calf pain sound like to you?
it's really deep in the muscle, just under the bit that sticks out and weirdly it seems to hurt more at rest than when it actually bears weight - it has been niggling away for ages I think but now it actually hurts and is annoying me I can still walk and run but it hurts every time I lift that foot so it's not so much fun…

your tips for The Long Ones please
say anything over 10 miles I love them, but think about them a little bit too much during the week - half in happy anticipation, half in anxiety about getting lost or hit by a car. Just wondering what advice seasoned runners might have for any aspect of planning and doing the weekly Long Run. Thanks in advance!

any endurance athletes on lithium here?
marathoners, ultras, triathletes - would really like to hear from you about your experiences of training sessions and events lasting more than two hours or so thanks in advance, my dr doesn't seem to know much although we have established that far from risks of toxicity I'm actually flushing it all through at the moment

extremely tired and hungry
ALL THE TIME! what can I do? have been working on Running Consistently 4 or 5 days a week and weekly mileage is about 25-30, as the Long Run creeps up I am running in shorter bursts during the week to keep the miles about the same - but I'm ALWAYS hungry, and really tired. I think it might be the length of the Long Run…

blisters, grazes and chafing - do I need new kit? :(
I got some new shoes, identical to existing Saucony trail ones, because current pair not only gritty and smelly from the swamp-like mud they trudge through nearly every day but have also clocked up at least 300 miles (they pre-date my Garmin so can't be sure exactly how many) and within a week both feet are quite badly…

I want my marathon pace to be 10:30 (ish)
Don't laugh at me! I know this doesn't sound very ambitious, but have done two half marathons and the best was 2:28 (other was 2:32) so have entered a marathon next May assuming it will take me about 5:30. My average pace, Garmin says, for runs over 10 miles is 11:11. Today was the first time I did any sort of longish (it…
