My friend is celiac and can take up to three days before some of her symptoms hit but it's usually much faster than that. I know you said you cook at home and you're gluten free but I wanted mention that if you're not being careful about cross contamination you could still get symptoms even if you're not eating it. I was…

Gluten is my main one. If I eat it I get a migraine and sometimes I even get the super fun flashy, blinky things in my vision and I can't see clearly. Artificial sweeteners also give me a headache but not migraines. I'm also sensitive to strong smells and can end up with a headache just from a laundry detergent that is too…

I feel like I'm getting close to it being easier to list the food I *can* eat because the list is shorter! I can't eat the following because I'm allergic and they make my tongue itchy and my throat swell shut: All shellfish avocados kiwi I can't eat these foods because I have intolerances to them: gluten: all foods…

We use a digital scale and measure in grams. It works great for my kids too because then I know they're not eating half the jar in one sitting!

If he can make me laugh when I'm mad at him I probably won't kill him. My husband has a great sense of humor and it's been a lot of fun to be married to him. We've been together for 25 years total and experienced the good, bad and ugly. It was all much easier to get through with a man who makes me laugh and I have fun with.

Your diary is set at 1200 plus exercise, are you eating back at least some of your exercise calories? For me personally, if I'm not eating enough then I am wiped out very easily. With as low as you have yours set you may not be eating enough to sustain yourself. That would be my guess anyway. I also hit a wall if I haven't…

My family doesn't care for rice but we love quinoa. Whenever a recipe uses rice I just sub in quinoa and cook as usual. It's got a high amount of protein too so that's a bonus.

I have four kids that vary in body shape, weight and size. I agree with the others that it's important NOT to single one out or make them your diet buddy. Encourage all of the kids to eat healthy food and watch portion sizes. In my house we have a kitchen scale and everyone uses it. We're not obsessive about it but I have…

Endangered Species is a good brand and I've bought it at the grocery store.

Well since I ate it long before Halloween that means it wasn't technically Halloween candy so I'm in the clear on that one. So the answer for today is, no. We're having ice cream instead. :)

Hello...:drinker:

I have three girls and while there has definitely been girly girl stuff around here, we haven't ever been completely pink. We've had some yes, but not anything over the top. I think the worst of it is when they're babies and other people are buying you stuff but even then we didn't have anything too crazy. As they get…

You can choose fruits that are lower in carbs too. Bananas are pretty high, berries are much lower. It's good to get different varieties in your diet too and enjoy all those antioxidants. I like to prep my fruit and keep it in ziplock bags in the freezer. Then I can measure out the amount of fruit I want and combine…

We never leashed ours and I don't think I would have but in certain situations I could see how it would be helpful I suppose. I'm only in this thread to share what happened to my exBIL. He was in a clothing store with one of his nephews and had him on a leash. He was looking through clothes and not paying attention to the…

I love weight lifting and always have. I haven't always been able to do it because of lack of equipment and that type of thing but I've missed it when I haven't been able to do it. Cardio I hated for a long time but then realized it was the type of cardio I was doing. Now that I realize there are more fun ways of doing it…

I eat a minimum of 1800 calories a day, more if I'm really active that day. To put it in perspective, I am 42 years old, weigh in the 190's, lift three times a week and do light cardio several times a week (nothing crazy so no super high calorie burns typically). I have been focusing on eating this way along with the…

Lol. Well you're already doing better than I would because my popcorn is organic, popped in coconut oil (with a little sugar if I'm feeling naughty) and drizzled with copious amounts of butter and sprinkled with salt. Feel better now?

It's much healthier for those around me if I have coffee.

I had no idea you could do so many things on a bike! I will have to give it a try when they get the classes started. Thanks for the input!

Well if you're eating a lot and eating high calorie foods you can certainly gain very rapidly. I took a quick peek at your diary and while it doesn't look very filled in, the entries I did see had cake, cookies, rice crispy treats and things like that. While those can certainly be a part of a healthy diet as a treat, there…

I do intend to try one out, I was just wondering what to expect? What exactly do they do in a spinning class? I mean there has to be some variation in the activity or you wouldn't need a whole class for it, right?

Homemade Kettle corn. I'm actually typing this with one hand and eating it with the other! :blushing:

Use netflix or go to the library and try out a bunch for free. There are also several on you tube but some are just little clips to show you what to expect I like getting the full workout from the library or netflix because I can actually do it. I own several Walk Away the Pounds (walking, low impact) The Firm (different…

Squash has a ton of potassium and it's in season right now so it's a little cheaper. I also make green smoothies with spinach and various fruits. The spinach has potassium and the fruit does too if I choose high pot. fruits. White beans are also good, you could make hummus with them and dip veg or chips into it.

My husband recently went from a goatee and mustache to a full but close and tidy beard and I can't keep my hands off him! I had no idea I'd love it so much!

Oh cool! Thank you!

Married people do remove them occasionally. My husband is a woodworker and for some projects it's safer to remove his ring. I'd rather he take the ring off than lose a finger! When we did Taekwondo I always took my ring off for sparring so I didn't scratch someone else with it.

This site has some cute stuff but they are much more expensive than what you wanted: http://www.divinitasole.com/designer I bought a tankini suit from Costco, a pair of boy shorts style swim shorts from Target and some swimsuit material from the fabric store. I ditched the Costco bottoms, left the boy shorts alone and…
