Excellent work!

You could try duck eggs. My SIL is allergic to chicken eggs but can eat duck eggs with no problem.

I have mine tattooed on my forearm: "Fall down seven times, get back up eight..."

That guy would die from the noise at a Crossfit box! My Jiu Jitsu school shares space with a crossfit and I cringe every time they play with barbells because they lift them up over their heads and then just drop them. We're all relieved when they finish so we can hear our BJJ professor again. I deadlift at a regular gym…

I think you've made a huge first step by acknowledging the issue and deciding to do something about it! I haven't suffered an injury like you have but I do understand chronic pain as I have fibromyalgia, IBS and endometriosis. There are days where I feel utterly hopeless, depressed and frustrated with how I feel but I have…

The very first post on this thread has a lot of good information on programs and what not. I've done Stronglifts 5x5 and it was a very easy program to follow and a good place to start but other programs listed are as well. Stronglifts is just the one I chose to begin with. Good luck! Lifting is addictive!…

I have a pinched nerve in my neck and use one of those inflatable cervical neck traction pillows that I bought off amazon. Feels really good after I take it off. But you may want to check with your doctor before you use something like that to make sure you're not making it worse.

I've snuck in chocolate covered almonds, cashew crunch squares, a sandwich baggie full of those cheddar flavored mini rice cakes, sugar snap peas, assorted other candies, Brookside candy (the fruit and chocolate flavored ones) and beef jerky. Not all at the same time and I'm sure there are other things I've brought in that…

I'm up near Everett. Where I live has lots of mountain trails for hiking in the Cascades. Favorite areas in the state are Deception pass and any of the islands out in the Sound. Welcome!

I'm in WA state! Feel free to add me. :)

When my mom got sick she spent the next six months at death's door before she finally succumbed to it. It was really hard to deal with and I did spend a lot of time eating ice cream. I tried to find my therapy in exercise but because I was at the hospital a lot, it didn't work out very well and I did gain an unfortunate…

I make my own Greek yogurt in my InstantPot (electric pressure cooker). I can use whatever milk I want but I prefer the yogurt made with whole milk so that's what I use. I usually add fruit, some nuts and honey to it; my current favorite it blueberries, almonds, cinnamon and honey to the plain yogurt. I just weigh it all…

That is totally awesome!

I live in Washington State and we get a lot of rain. I went for a three mile walk with my 12 year old and our dog yesterday, in the rain. It was very refreshing!

I would love to be able to do Judo! It's not in our budget right now though so I'll stick with BJJ, Kickboxing and my weightlifting. We did TaeKwondo for about three years and I was almost to my brown belt but our school closed. :( Kickboxing at least lets me kick and punch things again lol. My oldest daughter is 22 and…

Welcome to the mats! I started in August but wasn't able to go consistently at first. I'm fixing that now as much as I can and really starting to enjoy it. I don't know where you're located but look up "Girls in Gi's" and see if there is a chapter near you. I just went to an event this last Sunday and it was pretty…

Can you bring in something like a rotisserie chicken? You can get them precooked from a deli, strip it and put the meat in sandwich baggies. You can use that in salad or microwaved vegetables and/or pasta blends. Many of those can be steamed in the bag and if you tossed them with some chicken they would be a decent meal.…

Sometimes I have to get myself through my workout by reminding myself that I get to eat when I'm done so for me, about as long as it takes me to drive home.

I lift weights, do kickboxing (wearing boxing gloves) and jiu jitsu (no jewelry allowed) so I take my rings off for all of those things. I have a water bottle with a carabiner clip on it so I just put my rings on the clip. I take the water bottle with me everywhere so there is no concern about losing them or having them…

I have fibromyalgia and have found that certain foods make me fee horrible and cutting them out makes me feel like a new person. I have also discovered that adding magnesium glycinate is really helpful too. Five years ago it was a challenge to make it from the bed to the couch and it was a good day if I didn't need a nap.…

**Note to self: Don't do that!**

I inspect everyone's grocery cart, judge them based on what I see and then bask in my moral superiority. (You think I'm being snarky but I have actually caught myself doing this!)

I'm in Granite Falls. You can add me if you'd like.

I looked down at my front and realized, I only see boobs! My stomach isn't sticking out past them anymore so I can't see it just looking down. This one isn't from today but a couple of days ago I went to an hour and a half long Jiu Jitsu class, followed by an hour of kickboxing and not only lasted through both but…

Zucchini, spinach, spaghetti squash, kale, green juices and things like that have quite a bit of potassium without adding a bunch of calories. Plus you get plenty of other good for you stuff when you eat those things. I like to cook spinach, zucchini and some onions and eat it with eggs for breakfast. I get almost 2000 mg…

I have an Instant Pot (electric pressure cooker) and it's become my best friend. It has a delayed start setting so I can prep everything and it will just turn on at the time I need it to so when I get home, dinner is ready! Another idea, if you have the time to do it, is to do meal prepping. On Sunday I prep breakfast and…

I just started learning Jiu Jitsu and I'm amazed that I actually like it. I never thought rolling around with a sweaty person (male or female) and trying to kill each other would be a fun activity for me, lol

Yeah, with our food allergies we kind of feel like forensic scientists the way we examine labels. Having your throat close up isn't a good time. :(

I miss bananas! Before you all yell at me, it's because my daughter is deathly allergic to them so we can't even have them in the house. I LOVE bananas and honey roasted cashews together and they are an excellent snack before a workout so sometimes I'll buy one and eat it in my car like a druggy or a criminal. Then I have…

I keep a couple of me at my worst on my phone. It's not to shame me to get better but to remind me of how far I've come already and inspire me to keep going. When I show people those pictures they are always shocked because it doesn't even look like me. It's true though, I'm not her anymore.
