Intense exercise can stir your emotions for sure. My friend was doing a HIT class and all of a sudden just felt pure rage! She had no idea why she felt like that but it was so bad she left the class early. She went again and was fine but it completely confused her.

Have you thought about asking your doctor to refer you to a dietitian? There is a lot of info on the internet to sift through and you can find info but a dietitian can give you a clear plan and help you not be so overwhelmed. If that's not an option you might look diabetes.org. It's the site for the American Diabetes…

1. For health. I struggle with high blood pressure and exercise helps me keep it down. There are also a number of other health benefits to exercising. 2. To feel good. Exercising regularly keeps me from feeling stiff and sore or winded when I go to regular life things and I actually enjoy it! 3. To be strong. I love weight…

I'm IBS-A (meaning I get all the fun of both D and C! Yay me!) I went low FODMAP to figure out my triggers and if I'm careful I can eat quite a variety, even raw foods. I just have to make sure I'm not eating too much raw or too much of the low FODMAP foods I can get away with. I am pretty much grain free because…

I'm so sorry about your mom. I just went through the same thing myself. My mom got sick in September and it was a roller coaster from then until February 6 when she passed. I gained almost 30 pounds because I ate my feelings during that time and for a little bit after she passed. Give yourself time to grieve and be…

What are your goals in the gym? Are you wanting to add in some strength training? Doing a little research is an excellent idea and there are many beginner strength training threads right here on MFP that can get you started. If you feel like you need more guidance then see if you can find a good trainer in your area to…

I haven't read all the comments but my suggestion is sugar snap peas. For me this isn't a compromise or a substitute that tastes like sadness because I actually really like sugar snap peas! They are crunchy and a little sweet and I can munch on them. If you like your normal snacks and movies aren't the same without them…

I buy the containers of fresh spinach at Costco and the just throw it in the freezer. It's the only kind of spinach I use in my smoothies.

In my case, the RAW state of vegetables can be problematic if I eat too much but cook them and I'm fine. I can only eat salad or smoothies so many days in a row before I'm camping in the bathroom.

The things you're being told to do are spot on. I have IBS and through keeping a food journal, I discovered the foods that are big no's, occasionally won't hurt me if I don't mind a little discomfort, and safe foods. My biggest triggers are cauliflower, garlic and onions (sad, right?!) If I eat even small amounts of those…

I like to get the evolution sweet greens smoothie. It's green juices blended with greek yogurt and a banana. I prefer mine without the banana just because I don't prefer them. If you're looking for coffee, I like the Latte Machiatto or an Americano with room for cream. The calories aren't too bad and there is no sweetener…

Think outside the box and eat things that aren't necessarily "breakfast" foods. As I type this I'm eating caesar salad; it's low carb and gluten free because I don't use croutons (I've been GF for about four years.) If you make food ahead of time then it's quick and easy to grab it for whatever meal you need. I meal prep…

Foods high in potassium would be things like spinach and other dark leafy greens, potatoes, sweet potatoes, squash and coconut water. There a certainly others but I don't remember them off the top of my head. ;) Lots of food contain potassium but not all of them are listed in the database so you are probably getting more…

I'm just coming out of a "dirty bulk" lol. My mom was in the hospital on and off since September and just passed away. I've been emotional eating for months and feel like Jabba the Hut! I wish mine was muscle! Now things will get back to a "new" normal and I'm working on taking back control.

When I started and was trying to get my arms used to the whole idea I used a small piece of PVC pipe or a broomstick. I was going to try to type out instructions but I just don't think I can do it and make sense. Here's a link to a video I found that shows what I did. It helped a lot but my husband couldn't use the…

If you're not eating excessive amounts the rest of the day, a little ice cream isn't going to kill you. Just fit it in with the rest of your numbers and you're good to go. I've had yogurt with more sugar than ice cream.

I just had some dark chocolate with almonds and sea salt. Worked for me.

In addition to the already mentioned; zucchini, most meats, Brussel sprouts, beets and broccoli are all good. I like to get Evolution Sweet Greens with Lemon (it's a bottled juice). The whole container has 100 calories and 1100 mg potassium. I drink it because I like it.

I struggle with anxiety too. I've woken my husband in the middle of the night, certain I was having a heart attack! I try to stay off of WebMD and the like because anything I read makes me sure I've got that and my days are numbered. Heck, I had to quit watching Grey's Anatomy because everyday I woke up with a new disease!…

I like to cut them in half and roast them in the oven with some chopped up bacon. Make sure the bacon is on the sprouts and stir occasionally. When the bacon is crispy, sprinkle with some parmesan cheese and broil until the cheese is bubbly.

I prep lunches for three of us right now so I just do five of each recipe and mix and match between us. This week it was: Sweet and sour meatballs over rice (hubs) or spaghetti squash (me) Meatballs with garlic wine sauce over rice or squash Sweet onion chicken breast, broccoli and rice or squash I've also prepped raw…

It depends on what I'm doing. If I spend too much time on the treadmill I just want to throw myself off the cardio deck! Get me under a barbell though and I'll stay for a couple of hours if I can get away with it. I love lifting. I joke that when I go to the gym it's my "happy hour at my favorite bar". ETA: If…

Push ups I do on my knuckles and for all my lifting I use wrist wraps. I can tighten or loosen them as needed. There are a couple of exercises I just don't do because they hurt and I don't want to break myself.

Did you to the app page and make sure you have Garmin Connect? If you have Garmin Connect you'll have to make sure it's set up too and that you tell it to sync with MFP. If it's already set up and not syncing then go to the Garmin Connect webpage and tell it to sync with MFP. Lately mine doesn't want to stay connected so I…

I prepped my lunches for the week so I'm all set and only have to grab it out of the fridge. Yesterday was pesto parmesan chicken over zucchini noodles (it was SO good!) Today will be teriyaki chicken, rice and roasted broccoli and tomorrow is barbecue chicken, oven roasted vegetables and a little rice. Two of those will…

I didn't know I was big for a very long time but I grew up in a family of very large people. I was among the smaller of the family members so I didn't think I was fat. Maybe chubby but not "fat". I was raised by my aunt who tipped the scale at almost 450 pounds when she died and we had to pay extra for a large truck to…

I will commit to doing lunges and step ups even though I hate them. I will add them into my regularly scheduled programming because I need them.

I should also say, I struggle with anxiety and my BP is one of my triggers so I understand how it can spike just from you getting anxious about it. The best thing I have done to control the anxiety in this area is to take control of my health and fitness. My BP is still challenging at times but I'm on the right track so…

Blood pressure changes throughout the day and varies with the activities you're doing. They've measured weight lifters pressure at 400/200 (ish) during their lifts! If you're exercising and take it immediately after, it's going to be much higher than if you're just laying on the couch. When you measure your BP you're…
