  • If you keep doing it at your level and see progress then it's a success. I've done it twice and I still can't do everything with the intensity that they do BUT I can do the workouts better than I could when I started and that's what counts. Modify what you need to and if there is something you just can't do then sub…
  • Here's a blog post with instructions on how to make your own mozzarella cheese. The lower the fat content of the milk the harder the cheese (low fat is what's used for string cheese). You can control the sodium this way and know exactly what's in it. It only takes 30 minutes to make according to the directions. I pinned it…
  • If I don't stretch I won't be able to kick anybody in the head. Since I do Taekwondo that's important to me. :)
  • I made GF chocolate cupcakes with salted caramel frosting for my son's birthday this year. The recipe I used was a little on the dry side so the next time I made them I added some sour cream and they moistened right up. I also like to use moistening syrups on my cakes (mostly for flavor bit they do add moisture.) I make my…
  • I got a bench, barbell, dumbbells and 300 pounds of weight used off of craigslist. You might try that route. I got a great deal but I see weights on there all the time. I got the most bang for my buck this way. :)
  • I didn't but I did it anyway. That site has some nice motivation on it. When I'm feeling unmotivated I go to Pinterest and go to the Health and Fitness page. Tons of pictures and motivation on there! Gets me off my butt every time. :)
  • I'm learning that I have to stop the negative self talk before I can expect to "feel" any different. Constantly calling myself fat and ugly doesn't help me feel thinner or beautiful no matter how many compliments I get from others.
  • Great job! I remember the first time I hefted a 50 pound bag of chicken feed at the co-op. All the guys on the dock just stood there with their mouths hanging open and my DH grinned all the way back to the car (he had the other bag.) It's a great feeling!
  • They hurt so good.
  • Not to eat Fiber One bars. Ever. The noxious fumes they cause me to create have almost been the death of me and those around me. Very, very bad. (Although I do feel better since there is an entire website dedicated to the farts that Fiber One bars cause so I'm not the only one.) Also, never, ever, ever mistake the rubbing…
  • Well my 12 yo son is addicted to these! He loves the mint one but because he's only 12 and just doesn't need that much, we skip the protein powder in his. We do add spinach to the mint ones though. Adds a little nutritional oomph as well as making it green. Sometimes I'll throw avocado in there for creaminess if I have one…
  • From what I understand the worry is when you're eating it in supplement form because those are usually synthetic or in larger doses than we get from eating. I do know they say to rotate your greens so you're eating a variety. No links or scientific data to back me up because I'm too lazy to look anything up right now. :)
  • Right around Lake Stevens (East of Everett)
  • It's really, really hard! Are you ready? I go to Costco, buy the big jug of mango salsa and dump some on my fish. Then I cut up some fresh avocado and dump that on too. ;D Really, any of the mango or mango/peach salsas are good. I put my plate on my food scale and weigh out the salsa and avocado so I can log them…
  • Im allergic to shellfish so I can't help with the shrimp (but a quick google will turn up tons of ideas.) My favorite way to eat tilapia is to bake it then add some mango salsa and diced avocado. So yummy! (I do the same thing to chicken breast.)
  • I read where someone called them "tiger" stripes and I like that better so I'm going with it! :) They aren't going to go away so why let them ruin my life? They're just a stupid *little mark from carrying babies and gaining weight. My husband doesn't even see them. He's too busy looking at other things (especially if I'm…
  • Bump for later this week when I'm at the library and not on "medium speed internet" like I am here at home. :)
  • Her living in another state is probably the biggest reason we get along well. :)
  • Bob's Red Mill is a garbanzo bean based flour but not all of them are formulated like that. There are tons of recipes online for making your own flour blends and recipes for gluten free versions of your favorite foods. I've heard great things about Mama's Gluten free flour blends but haven't tried them. She has one that's…
  • Made it through the first weekend and not only didn't I drink but I actually kept my calories in check for once! We're not alcoholics or anything but we do both have them in our close family (my dad, his sister) so we just like to check ourselves now and then. I have enough issues with allergies at the moment anyway…
  • They have GF pastas! I'm not a big pasta fan so I haven't tried them but the quinoa pastas are popular among my friends who are GF (and I have several of them.) The one thing I've been told is don't cook them too long or they'll get mushy and fall apart. I think my friend said about 9 minutes was all she does.
  • Her migraines weren't daily occurrences so I couldn't give you a time frame on that but she did often have several a week and hasn't had even one since going GF. For some people they can see relief of symptoms within a week. For others it can take several weeks as their body needs more time to recover. I think the common…
  • I don't really know what to tell you for the exercise other than do what you can tolerate the best. I did want to ask though, have you considered food allergies as a source of your migraines? My daughter was getting them several times a month (which wasn't surprising since her dad and I both get migraines now and then).…
  • I have several but before I list them I will say, go to your library or video store (or if you have Netflix just stream them) and try a bunch of videos commitment free. I usually try new ones out this way before I decide to buy them. Saves me money and lets me have a variety of workouts. I have several Walk Away the Pounds…
  • If a person does have an issue with gluten then yes, it can make a difference in weight loss. If you have no issues it probably won't make much of a difference. I have a gluten free kid (she has serious issues) so the rest of us are mostly gluten free to since it's just easier to cook one meal than two different ones. She…
  • I hated the yoga! I do the TurboFire stretch 40 or Biggest Loser yoga instead.
  • Yesterday I baked a boneless, skinless chicken breast without anything on it. Then I cut it into bite sized chunks and put half an avocado (small chunks) and mango salsa on it. Oh. My. Word. It was amazing!!!
  • I make all of our meals and they eat what I make. Even if they don't have an issue now (that you can see) they could develop one later so why not instill a love of healthy foods early? Another thing with those Lean Cuisine's is they tend to have a lot of sodium. I never go over on my sodium unless I eat out. We make almost…
  • I've had mine for five years and still sound like that! I should probably get a commission for all the blenders I've sold for them! :)
  • http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/506340-milkshake-recipe-37g-of-protein These are really good and pretty low in cals but high in protein. My 12 yo son adores the chocolate mint one (we put spinach in it too)
