Brilliant, well done. And you've inspired me!

Oh yes, and I do cook at weekends and put atuff in the freezer. And I started playing wii sport with my kids, and wii dance, which they love and I was always too lazy to play!

I agree with this. Like you I really felt I had no time. I work 60 hours a week at a completely sedentary but demanding job. I have two kids, so before and after work is all about feeding them, reading to them etc. the last thing I wanted to do after that was exercise. SO I just decided not to give myself a hard time about…

I'm on L1 day 3 - am finding it tough, but possible, though I took a rest day after doing two days in a row because my muscles were so sore. I am pretty unfit though. I think it is a really good DVD. Am determined to do all 30 days, but plan to build in two rest days a week

Happy birthday. I'm heading for 50 and I can tell you ... 40 is young young young! Have a great decade!

An inspiring thread. Am building up to 30 day shred (DVD still in its cellophane ... But not for long!)

Brilliant! I love the monthly pics (you should make a flick book out of them, and watch the weight come off in seconds!)

Why would anyone come onto a thread called "motivation and support" and leave only criticism, often in sneering or angry tones for good measure? As someone pretty new to this forum I find a lot of this thread upsetting, and it would certainly make me think twice about asking for support or motivation from the forum. If you…

Hanks for the good advice. I don't workout EVER so am feeling quite apprehensive! I think this is a good plan, and I will follow it. And thank you to everyone who took the time to post - all good advice. Wish me luck!

You're not the only one! I find it very hard - I do eat meat and fish but not often (usually two meals a week, say). But this week I filled the trolley with meat and fish as that seems to be the only way to hit the protein target. I don't like eating that much meat though and it is expensive. I've tried upping pulses but…

There are some good tips in here: http://www.guardian.co.uk/lifeandstyle/2012/jul/13/skint-foodie-recipes-pea-ham It's not aimed at people trying to lose weight, but has good advice on eating healthily on a tight budget

I sympathise with all this - I have been eating really well for three weeks - no sugar (except fruit), very little alcohol (only when out for dinner) and a little below TDEE calories - all whole foods etc. lost 5lbs the first week, then ... Nothing. I started feeling depressed about it but after reading posts on MPF am…

Thanks for all the friendly, good advice. - I have obviously been weighing myself too often - after my first dramatically good week i was jumping on the scales every day. And not drinking enough water (though I always forget to log it, so it's not as bad as it looks). Feeling less gloomy tonight - remembering that this is…

Walking sounds good - even I can't think of an excuse not to do that!
