Just afoot note...make sure that your high calorie or high carb (if you try carb cycling) days are on a day when you are lifting and generally I recommend a leg day since that is the largest group of muscle and you need a lot of fuel to really get a good work out in!

I peronally don't but it won't hurt to mix it up. Any change can shock the body and will promote results so long as you don't go too high on your higher calorie days. It's the same theory as carb cycling...you load up to get you through for a couple days and then you substitute the carbs with good fats on no/low carb days.

No offense to doctors out there but generally they haven't a clue because they base it on BMI which is a bogus #. "In my opinion", 155lbs at 5'4" is still a little heavy unless you have super low body fat.

Make sure you are doing plenty of cardio as well. I suggest 6 days a week!

Eating clean and plenty of protein to promote muscle growth is very important. Also lifting heavy is key. As you build more muscle, you will burn more fat. Most women say to me "I don't want to get bulky"! Don't worry about that, because without certain supplement/drugs, you won't.

I personally use Splenda (2 packets per day in my coffee) and I don't care that it's not natural, I care that it's calorie free!

I gave it up because it was empty calories and prefer to eat my calories rather than drink them only to still be hungry. I was a Vodka/Cranberry Juice drinker and 1 drink would net 240 calories...yikes! I have only drank a handful of times since August 2009 and I like it this way. Saves $$$ too!

Outdoor running is always more difficult. On a treadmill you have the belt assiting in your forward movement. If you want the treadmill to be closer to what it's like outside, put the incline up to 1.5 - 2%

We have tons of goodies at the office ALL the time. I usually stay away except days like today when we had our holiday pot luck. It's all fair game. I still exercise so a day or two will not hurt me.
