I think my actual question may have been a bit confusing, my question is if you are NOT a smoker when you began running was it typical for you to be a bit out of breath and for your chest to burn?

The 9 pound loss was from last year. Thanks again for all your support! I am going to eat more and I will go open my diary, but mind you I am a VERY picky eater!

I am 39, I currently weigh 158 and am 5'5". I am fairly active and my workouts are very intense with a burn of about 550 calories. My goal weight would be between 125-130.

Yes, I get plenty of rest. And the whole calorie deficit thing completely confuses me, I don't understand it at all!

I have been at it for 5 weeks. When I eat "healthy" I struggle to get to even 1200 calories and to top it off I am a very picky eater so that makes it hard. And yes this is hard! There is such a science to it and I can't figure it out! It is so frustrating when I am working out harder than I ever have and am not getting…

I am not sure on how many calories I was consuming but all I drank was soda and the food that I did eat was junk.

My problem with getting my food calories to 1200 is that I am not a big eater, I never have been, I WAS just eating junk...I now am forcing myself to eat throughout the day...

I am the same way!!! I eat a LOT of the same things over & over! Just do your best and eat whatever healthy choices that you do like or look at making things differently so that you may like them! Best of luck, Michelle
